Why the product struggles today is because of Vince’s micro management. Everything that they did to beat WCW now they just throw everything away in favour of Vince being in charge of everything, simply because he can. The early years of WCW Vince didn’t evolve his product it was the same childish nonsense that insulted the audience’s intelligence only until WCW started to kick their ass Vince started to change. I love JRs commentary on Dynamite. He brings some logic to the madness. The tag matches are often jumbled and the referee seems to have no control. JR will say exactly what I’m thinking in those moments. They should add JR to the production team if he isn’t already just in a role of getting the referees to look like they know how to keep control of a match. It’s a work we all know but it should still look realistic and like there is a set of rules that need to be followed in the ring especially in the tag matches.

I am fortunate that while my father was very short fused and demanded a lot at the same time unlike JR my dad was sure to make sure that I always knew he loved me. As a man at times he could certainly be hurtful if he went off and could often say things he’d regret I was blessed that he was always self aware, unafraid to make sure you knew he loved you, and at times willing to apologize and recognize times where he was wrong. Years later and now being an adult I have been able to have conversations with him where he truly knows where he was wrong and has made sure that we as his children know that he knows he made mistakes as all parents do.
But while those times as you’re living them are very difficult, especially being young and hormonal, and often are hard to understand they can truly become an asset for your later life with the right attitude. If you look back to them with malice and feel you were treated unfairly they can be a serious detriment to you. But if you take an attitude of using them as an asset they can become a great benefit in your working life and your resiliency to deal with difficult roles and people. As an attorney the path to get through the schooling, land a job, and survive in those jobs is immense and full of people who can be cruel and backstabbing as they aim to achieve anyway they can. Living a life of growing around someone who constantly challenged me and expected a lot was such an asset when I took that path because the things that can often break people down weren’t able to do that for me. I think that’s the same case for JR here. The time he spent with those types of people gave him a skin and mindset that prevented the things that would break down others in his roles from breaking him and worked to his advantage.

From all the stories I have heard about Vince it amazes me that company ever reached the heights it has. Not only has he sabotaged his own company MANY times he seems to be a pain in the ass to be around. I spent 8 years in the Marines. I understand tough love but there is a fine line between tough love and out right abuse. A real leader understands the limits of who he is working with and tries to improve them. Not shit all over them just because they can. I've also worked in broadcasting. How you managed to sound as great as you did with all the noise and nonsense going on in your ears is beyond me. Best play-by-play man in wrestling history imo. I don't know Vince, but he seems to get off on power and that's never a good thing.
