We used to ask the resto to bring hot boiled water in a glass to sterilize our utensils by deepening into the hot water. ( many resto already give that service or give some tissue sanitizers for the utensils) It’s sounds so ridiculous and paranoid, but what we can do than having an extra precautions, especially coz of the new covid strain nowadays from India, The delta covid, which is more contagious & deadly. Try Astha mall In Sudirman SCBD. It’s not that big but with another different vibe. Better go there in the afternoon to chill with some ice coffee in their nice cafes & you can still walk around in SCBD complex in the evening ( so it’s wont be to hot & humid). From there us Trans Jakarta to go back to Jalan Thamrin the area where your hotel are. You can use your MRT card for Trans Jakarta payment.

PIK avenue is high end residential mall , with a lof expensive houses , apartment , new connecting island 2 and 3 new reclamation…. Some houses are even much more expensive , chinatown you went have finish new extension
i live in the apartment near there called madison park, and i also used to live in royal mediterania garden residences....definitely a cool place! i can go to the malls easily through the tunnel access near my apartment tower
Jakarta's really great to spend your money eating hip foods in many hip cafés. There are ton of em. The prices shouldn't be a problem for you because you're foreigner. Expensive for the local might still cheap for you. But if you want to eat like a local, there are also many old legendary restaurants which are cheap but freaking delicious. Just not as comfy as mall restaurants.
