CVT has killed the Honda reputation. You can hear the drag between 1st and 2nd. Had a 91' Accord Lx Coupe back in the day (Bought in 95' in High School) and loved it! Buddy had an 89' Accord Lxi and I was amazingly equally impresse with the acceleration, ride and handling. I would buy a mint 88-93 Accord over a new one any day, especially since "Technology" does not intrigue me.
Hearing is not the same as feeling. I own an 8th gen civic si (one of the most Honda cars IMO) and I was pretty impressed with this transmission. I’ve driven cvts before on other brands and I wouldn’t own any of them. But the one on this accord is one I could definitely live with. It is not “draggy” at all and is well matched to the engine. Very very smooth and fits the cars personality just fine.
Yes because in the CVT of the accord , when you put the s mode, the car tries to make you feel like you have a gear or that you are in a gear , it only makes you feel a strange sensation between a CVT and a normal automatic transmission, but it does not make any increase in the speed more than everything is in the sensation, you have realized that when you put the S mode, you accelerate to 3500 or 4000 revs and when you stop accelerating you only reduce the revs as if you were at in a gear , if you do that in D mode , when you stop accelerating the revs go directly to 1
All it takes is an exhaust and intake to make this thing scream, by the time mine hits redline it’s doing 75. And believe it or not the cvt makes this car faster not slower, drive one with a couple mods and you’ll see exactly what I mean
@@DIE2dayORelse I'll pass..........Nissan tried the CVT route and now most of their cars are known for bad transmissions. I'll stick to the 8spd in my ISF.....
@@DIE2dayORelse i just test drive the v6 2016 accord. They overhyping this thing tbh, I’ll agree its definitely faster but other than that I’m staying with my slow cvt. I was pushing that v6 hard the same way i push my cvt. Got 10MPG on the V6 and i would get about 20-22MPG in my cvt with the same style of driving.
All CVT transmission are rubbish.. it is just like how a moped operates..they are made to save gas and thats it... you will damage the transmission if you tow are race with it.. they calls for maintenance all the time...
Sloww af the 2016 Ford Fusion SE with the 2.5 4cyl doesn't sound as raspy and annoying as this car and face it fords are better than shitty and slow hondas
Hondas generally will last longer than a Ford... at least from personal experience. This Honda wasn't made to be a sports car. It was made to be a really good commuter car and with the CVT transmission, it gets over 40mpg on the highway for only $25k MSRP. It destroys competition. Plus, Fusions aren't fast either, by any means.
I just got a 2017 Sport with only 42k miles. The car I had before that was a 2015 Fusion, and I needed a new tranny around 80k. The Accord wins by a mile!
I've driven alot of cars with a CVT, and I'd take this Honda over any of them. If anything, atleast you still get VTEC.
newer 10 gen 1.5t cvt is alot better it feels like a normal auto tranmission.
V6 coupe is a whole nutha ball of wax. She'll dance.
Some of y’all sound funny; this definitely needs a driver mod.
Yeah because pressing the gas pedal and shifting a auto is hard😂
@@Limited-uq2ykthey don’t even shift 😂 cvts idk what driver mod bros talking abt

I couldn't agree more!
Lol. Ok
Get excellent mpg tho

sports mode is not really sports mode..somehow it feels slower...when my car in reg D mode is fast than S mode

got the same whip bro mines def feel faster n def mor torque on S
X2
@@Moehasn02 ma bad now i see the difference..i wasn't pushing my car..def fast as fuck..prob faster than the 6 cyl i had
I feel the same way when my car is on D it goes faster then on S mode
Try the V6 ok
Wooo that’s was fast 👍
WE NEED A HONDA ACCORD ON STARWORDS
Oh god the CVT... such cringe
Mine sounds amazing shifting through the fake gears with the paddle shifters. Most people just dont know how to use it!
Omg quit complaining and actually drive it
It’s a family sedan, not a race car, the car is perfectly fine for it being what it is
@@rhodesyyy9848nope
What’s wrong with that shit terrible
the incorporate the word 'sport', yet it's slower than my grandmother taking a dump
ostreds there's no such thing as a fast Honda Accord
Can’t expect Lamborghini type acceleration out of a Honda. The 2017 Accord Sport is actually a super nice car “for a Honda.” Dipshit.
The Conforti Brothers bro if you have paddle shifters you go fast than that
@CP100 swap the 3.7 heads on the 3.5 block get a tune, intake, TB, TB spacer, exhaust and youll be around 365 hp
Sport is the trim idiot 🤦♂️🤦♂️
I will never buy a CVT if its this slow!
Only 180 hp of course it’s not gonna be anything crazy
