I vote for the longer videos as well. And I will also say this is another awesome video. I can’t wait to see what those FI’s can do and what the numbers will be. Great job man, and I appreciate what you’re doing.
Get the Godzillas or the Kings. I got a demo in The Bassin Semi and it was insane. My brother had the XMaxx subs in his Tahoe and he upgraded to the Godzillas and the difference is amazing. Well worth the money.
Been using those same crimpers for several years now. Have used it hundreds of times doing solar installs as well as some stereo crimps. Works great and way faster than using the hydraulic crimps. Gotta admit those all white baskets with the white neo spacers are looking pretty damn good.
longer vids love the full expierence i watch you while i work on my build and just trying new companies! i buy all kinds of loaded enclosures from a bunch of companies seeing who the best and worth the value for all new bassheads
I have a B2 12" ref in my current rig and I want to upgrade to FI and a bigger amp but I'm not sure the stock power can handle it. Yours is looking sweet man!
Just found your channel coming off either a Jacob or D4S video and instantly subscribed because I want to see this build, because those some sexy subs right there. Love them neo designs.
I'm curious if inverted subs offer better sound quality or better SPL? Is the box ported? How many watts and @ what ohm are you shooting for? I had (8) Atomic 18's in my longbed mazda back in 1993 (6 in the bed and 2 in the extended cab). Cracked several snug tops with that build. I had to use bolts and lock nuts to secure them as the wood screws were not effective at holding them down, but mine were not inverted. Solid build - Thanks for the vid! Long vids are best.....
Whenever I invert Subs and you can’t see inside the box I just feel around in the foam surround and make sure it feels like there’s equal distance between the baffle and surround it worked out good 4 out of 4 times for me
@ you are lucky it’s on a flat surface I had to with 2 resilient sounds platinum v2 12s with the enclosure already in the trunk it was not a good time then I had to get extension to keep the drill away from the motor because it will just kill all power to the drill
I personally like longer videos because it gives the viewers more personal time to show what kind of person you really are and learn stuff from, plus give advice of what you would do if you were in the person asking for advice. HINT HINT SKYLAR LOL😅
stick your finger inside the surround from the top, push gently towards the baffle wall on all sides and you can feel from the top when it's centered. No need to dive the box :p
I have a thought I want to share..I'm sick of dealing with the same thing.. I'm going to find someone to cnc a couple aluminum extensions for my screw gun so all I have to fight is the socket..lol
If I was you I would have made a rebated top panel of 1/4" birch ply and fixed that down onto the baffle. So that way you know the subs are sitting absolutely perfectly centred on each hole and look a little flush as well for that cleaner look.
Subs are such an expense. I bought 4 Zv5 18's for my first wall and added 2 for my second. Been running the same subs since 2020. Paid like $600 ea at the most. No way I'm paying 6k+ to swap lol
@craigengelman1369 definitely. I built 2 of my 18's from blown 12's. I just didn't have a reason to swap. My setup is crazy efficient and plays from 20hz to 58hz. I'm happy with my old Zv5s
@@DibeezyTheGifted and that is all that matters ! i have 2 jld audio ext18d1s(900oz motors) in a tapped horn with a teampie7500.1 in a 2000 explorer sport . my whole set up cost $1200 !
Bro just out of curiosity what do you do for a living?? Im sitting here watching your videos with my 9 to 5 job thinking damn I wish i could afford that setup.... love the videos bro
Why this is coming up as an important YT video, I don't know. But I've been in car audio for 3+ decades. Owned an enclosure subwoofer company, that I built from the ground up - in Van, WA. (HELLO NEIGHBOR in Oregon) LONG AGO. 80's, early 90's - slammed, Porsche suspension, neon turquoise , VW Squareback, Kicker sponsored. With (4) 15 inch Kickers. That's where I started. Anyways, I saw something right around the 6:30 mark with heat shrink, not fitting. When ya get in this situation, one tool will save the day. LONG JAWED, needle nose. LOng. With long jaws and long handles. Take said 2/4 awg heat shrink, thats lets say you want to get it over (2/0): "Two-aught. Place said piece of 3-4" heatshrink, and put it over the jaws of the long mouth needle nose. Push down. Now, pull to arms apart - stretching the heatshrink. Dont go to far, you'll tear it. Now, take the heat shrink off, slip it 180, slide it over the jaws - then "PULL". This will stretch the heatshrink. It makes no cosmpetical difference. Remove, slide it over the oversized wire - wudda ya know, it goes over. Align, heat gun. You can even take far over sized heat shrink, cut a vertical slit down its length, apply a thin layer of CA, it sets. Than heat gun shrink. Cheers!
Appreciate the comment. You said popping up as an important Yotube video? Did it come across your home page? Also, the heat shrink I was trying to use was a glue heat shrink. Little thought to stretch and I didn't care enough to add the extra work; little context. Appreciate you being here!

I had Fi subwoofers in my first build. I now have American Bass XMaxx subs that'll be going in my next build with DC Audio amps

I was looking at an ad and saw your build. I believe it was Skyhigh. I thought that was pretty dope. Same thumbnail as this vid.

I would probably switch the lugs to copper and the nuts/washers to stainless because i would lose about half of them into those magnets 😂
These ones were already paid for 🥲

Whenever I invert Subs and you can’t see inside the box I just feel around in the foam surround and make sure it feels like there’s equal distance between the baffle and surround it worked out good 4 out of 4 times for me
That's what I did on the last one, just make sure I can push the surround far enough to touch the enclosure and even it out all around.

I'm positive that already exists, so no machining required.
Why not counter sink woofer frame to front baffle so that woofer surround is perfectly aligned with cut-out?
Just wondering....
Hate counter sunk subs tbh
Loving this storm trooper build! Those subs look incredibly sexy!

Can you please post a link for those crimpers? I've looked and looked and can't find that specific one. Thanks!

I have some crossfire xs v3 15s and they look similar to those fi subs. I don't have neo mags
