Steve, I really appreciate the fact that you leave in the mistakes you make. People get so discouraged when they don't do something perfect. You've been doing projects for years and you still mess up. And, I love that you don't let it get to you.
It's always good to see you working through your mistakes and not editing them out of the video! Mere mortals don't always have everything go perfectly. :)
One of the reasons I love this show is because he clearly show that we are not perfect and that mistakes happens. But he shows how to fix them or to step away for a bit. And he gives free plans for almost everything that he does and thats awesome.
I definitely appreciate how you were able to bounce back from your mistakes instead of filming everything like you did it perfect on the first try. Good job Steve!
Matthias Wandel I guess every youtube woodworkers commenting on each other's video now, which is nice. i'd love to see you and steve making a project together.
I am a little late but I am a beginner in woodworking and I just found your channel. Your sense of humor and way of teaching how to fix mistakes is amazing, I'm learning so much already. Thank you so much!
Awesome desk organizer! I love that you left your cutting mistake in the video. Most people cut stuff like that out of their video, but the truth is that it happens so much in wood working, that it really needs to be demonstrated. It's great that you did that and tried to fix it. Love your videos.
one of the most valuable parts of your videos is you showing us the mistakes you made - thanks! It helps me be less frustrated knowing it happens to others, too - even to very experienced woodworkers like you! Thank you :)
Very nice project. That´s a perfect gift for students and teachers. Thank you very much for this great video. Thanks to MicroJig for sponsoring the show.
Thanks for this video. It makes me feel better to know that even pros sometimes get confused by their own projects and cut things wrong at times. That's what I like about your videos. You admit that everything does not always come out absolutely perfect down to the ten-thousandth of an inch.
Walking away from a project when you reach a certain level of frustration is always a good idea. This is a good example of that. As always, nuce work, Steve!
This is the kind of project that got me hooked on your channel in the first place. I like that you show your mistakes Steve. That kind of stuff happens to me all the time. It's a wise man that walks away when frustrated or tired. Bad things can happen if you keep going. Keep them coming!
Steve, I really like your viideos. Not only are they encouraging to "mere mortals", but the results are awesome quality and very practical. Your channel is unique and inspiring. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making woodworking an enjoyable and possible craft for those of us who are not professionals. Your videos are inspiring, encouraging many people to jump in and make cool projects. I especially like that you show your errors, but also show how to salvage a mistake. I also enjoy your your humor and lightheartedness because it makes attempting a wood project seem possible. With many thanks,FredSanDiego, CA
I love that you show us your mistakes, and how you fix them. Thanks for that. Nice project. I always like watching your videos. You really do a good job of making us mere mortals feel like we can succeed at projects like this.
I like your projects mostly because they are informative and applaud you for showing mistakes and that tells me to slow down and check your work before you cut. Don't get me wrong I am still impatient and rush through because I want to see the finish project. Still working on that. Thanks again, maybe I will slow down, LOL
glad to see i'm not the only one who winds up trashing a part and redoing it!! it's a nice looking organizer, though I think i would have made the drawers full depth instead of recessed that way...but that's a personal design choice, so....
This was the first video of his that I've really enjoyed for a little while, and I think it's because it was unsponsored. He works better when he's making something that he wants to make, not something that a sponsor tells him to make
That's a great project Steve. It has a lot of detail and yet (relatively) easy to build. I think I will give this one a try. And the edge banding really finishes it off.
Don't get me wrong on this but I really enjoy videos that are not sponsored more, because you just build it for yourself and not to talk about a company. But I like all your videos, so keep making them :)
Bartek Witas I agree. But only because I think the interruption is jarring. Videos are always much more enjoyable if they stay relevant through the whole thing. Stopping 3/4 of the way through a woodworking video to talk about eBooks just throws the enjoyment out, imo.
Bartek Witas I'm so used to adblock at this point that this might be the only ad I see nowadays, and Steve does it quickly with comedy. In video ads that aren't product placement are ideal imo, you can always fast forward if you like.
This video had me in stitches! Not because I was poking fun at Steve but because I've been there myself so many times. It ended up looking fantastic, though; great video and awesome project!
Nice, I did make the other charging station. The wife has it full, so maybe this one I'll make for myself. Thanks, i like you don't edit out your mistakes and troubles
Great job Steve. I like this version better too. I came close to making you're previous charging station but decided at the last minute I didn't quite like it. This one I believe I will make. I'm thinking of using wood instead of plywood.
You said in a previous video: "There are no mistakes in woodworking, only skill building opportunities." Your words have made me feel better in the shop a few times.
I love your videos. They make me feel "I could do that!". One thing I'd do differently for a minor cosmetic improvement, would be to make the drawer face material taller by the thickness of the bottom. Then I'd attach the bottom behind the face. That way the bottom ply would not be visible from the front. If you were worried about the strength of the bottom along the face you could micro-pin through the drawer face. Not meant to be a critique at all! Love your work and presentation style!
I don't know if this makes a difference for you or not, but I like when you show your mistakes. It provides two things, 1. That you have wood worked far longer than I and can still make mistakes, and 2. How you come up with solutions to those errors. It allows me some breathing room when I screw up, and also provides me a solution should I ever make the mistake you have... attaining sort of a vicarious experience I know I can rely on. Thank you for including you errors.
I just found your channel this morning! subscribed and have been watching videos all day! don't suppose you've ever done a kitchen or wardrobe fitting? I would love to see a video on that
Still though you make it look so easy. Today I tried to cut dados in an interlocking spice rack. I didn’t have a sled but I patiently cut them one at a time. Tomorrow I’ll find out if I was successful. Pictures will follow.
this is wonderful!!!!! many people need it!!!!!! or something like it!!! (I'm one of them) it is not "AliExpress" and DIY from cardboard... it looks great!!!! I love it!!!!) I WANT IT)))))))
Great video. I will probably never make this item, but I appreciate everything in the video. I always learn some kind of technique or tip from your videos. Thank you for not editing out mistakes in your projects! I see a tree stump on the floor... might it be part of a future video?
This was a good episode...really felt like classic we or something...not that your current videos are not good or anything i like them all! Best of luck to you and your family, Peter
I have to say that did look painful.. LOL! But I would say that is probably one of my top favorites builds you have done.... It now joins the list of things I must build. :-) Thank you for showing the mistakes and how you going about fixing them.
Hi Steve that's nice i like that and going to build one my self. by the thank you for the sticker and i'm the one that put that little Ravens key chain schedule thing in the envelope i don't know why just goofing around but anyway keep up the good work i think you are a great person Thanks Victor
I know you are not sponsored at all anymore, and I agree with that. But I really loved everyone of those grrripper ads you made, and wanted to let you know :) Greetings from holland
I need to make something like this for my desk at work. One of the best projects yet if you ask me. It has the potential for everyday use for most people.
Nice job. The best thing about your projects is that you don't need to build a set of complicated machines to get them together. Pretty much just the old standbys most everybody has. Excellent.
It's cool that you intentionally make mistakes so that we feel ok about our mistakes.
Steve, I really appreciate the fact that you leave in the mistakes you make. People get so discouraged when they don't do something perfect. You've been doing projects for years and you still mess up. And, I love that you don't let it get to you.
I like when you show some of your mistakes. It makes me feel better when I have problems with my projects.
Great updated version of a past project. I like this one better too. I like all of the staggered drawers and dividers.
Steve Carmichael That's what I liked too. It gives it some character!

When it gets frustrating, time to leave the shop. Too many mistakes that way. Plus the risk of injury goes up with making more mistakes.
Matthias Wandel I guess every youtube woodworkers commenting on each other's video now, which is nice. i'd love to see you and steve making a project together.
I second this, with pocket screws!
RifkiAbay v=A5Xl1NpYWLA
They did make one years ago search for "Skype for woodworkers"
Michael Stephenson Thanks, man!

Steve, I love that I’m learning more and more that you’re also a nerd that lives wood working. I need that companion cube.
Thanks for showing your mistakes and the associated frustration. I'm very new to woodworking and I relate very much with this.
Steve, I really like your viideos. Not only are they encouraging to "mere mortals", but the results are awesome quality and very practical. Your channel is unique and inspiring. Great build! Walking away when it gets frustrating is indeed the best thing to do I can tell from experience.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one making mistakes in the shop. :) Great update to the charging station.
Love when you show your mistakes, puts a smile on my face, and it helps when I make mistakes on my projects. Great project this week Steve!
-Steven
I love that you show us your mistakes, and how you fix them. Thanks for that.
Nice project. I always like watching your videos. You really do a good job of making us mere mortals feel like we can succeed at projects like this.
Thanks for including your mistakes and fixes, makes me feel better about my screwups.
I like your projects mostly because they are informative and applaud you for showing mistakes and that tells me to slow down and check your work before you cut. Don't get me wrong I am still impatient and rush through because I want to see the finish project. Still working on that. Thanks again, maybe I will slow down, LOL
I'm glad to see that you show when things don't quite work out....just like in the real world. Great video!
glad to see i'm not the only one who winds up trashing a part and redoing it!!

That's a great project Steve. It has a lot of detail and yet (relatively) easy to build.
I think I will give this one a try. And the edge banding really finishes it off.
I mark everything with pencil so I have reminders where to cut and where to not cut. I like your design. It turned out great.
Don't get me wrong on this but I really enjoy videos that are not sponsored more, because you just build it for yourself and not to talk about a company. But I like all your videos, so keep making them :)
I like the sponsored videos because he gets paid and can continue to make free content.
Bartek Witas I agree. But only because I think the interruption is jarring. Videos are always much more enjoyable if they stay relevant through the whole thing. Stopping 3/4 of the way through a woodworking video to talk about eBooks just throws the enjoyment out, imo.
+Nick VW ,+bartek witas. My question for you is this; do you support +steve ramsey financially? This is how he makes a living.
Rick Dearmont Never said they shouldn't be there. I just think they're jarring in the middle of the video.
Bartek Witas I'm so used to adblock at this point that this might be the only ad I see nowadays, and Steve does it quickly with comedy. In video ads that aren't product placement are ideal imo, you can always fast forward if you like.
Great one, the thing about woodworking is we all make mistakes. Love to see it when people do, are honest and show us how to fix it.
You've helped me feel better about having ruined too many dados and rabbets on my current toybox project, and I thank you.
I am so glad that you show your mistakes! Makes me feel better!!
This project looks like it would give me way to many headaches to even try!
This video had me in stitches! Not because I was poking fun at Steve but because I've been there myself so many times. It ended up looking fantastic, though; great video and awesome project!
great that you show your mistakes, everyone makes them, but some choose to cut them out, perfect my friend. great job!
Just being small and finicky. The nature of the beast when it comes to all small woodworking projects.
Nice, I did make the other charging station. The wife has it full, so maybe this one I'll make for myself. Thanks, i like you don't edit out your mistakes and troubles
I have one of those USB bays laying around somewhere, now I have an idea of what I can do with it. Thanks for the idea, and keep up the great work!
I like that design a lot. Lots of neat little nooks.
I love that you publish the "mere mortal" moments. Nice work.
As I'm watching this I look over at my 15 month old son, and he is dancing along with the music! Great video!
Great build, Steve! I like the fact that you also share your mistakes too!
Great video. I like that you show your mistakes. I make quite a few myself, and I can be easier on myself when I see it happens to the pros as well.
Another informative and easy to understand video, hello from the UK
Another great project! School is around the corner, i better get to it. Thanks for the plans!
I learned many ideas from u and gained confidence to start my own workshop sir. I really liked ur videoes.
Love your work and presentation style!
just love your attitude (I know this is an old video....I'm catching up with all your shows)
This is the first video I've watched from you, and as soon as I saw the companion cube, I was hooked. Great video. Time to watch them all...
I don't know if this makes a difference for you or not, but I like when you show your mistakes. It provides two things, 1. That you have wood worked far longer than I and can still make mistakes, and 2. How you come up with solutions to those errors.

Thank you for including you errors.
And of course, all groove repairs and snapping of plywood, Matthias approved. Love your vids Steve...entertaining as well as informative as always.
Love your video!! you also make woodworking look like the fun it should be! congratulations!
I don't know if I enjoy your intros or videos more. Awesome! Great job. Douglas
Thanks for showing the true nature of troubleshooting ;)
Good job Steve. As always. I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. Its our Friday supper table routine to watch your videos.
Steve. very nice lil organizer!. I always say, your not very good if you don't make a mistake once in awhile. I enjoy your vids. keep up the nice work
I just found your channel this morning! subscribed and have been watching videos all day! don't suppose you've ever done a kitchen or wardrobe fitting? I would love to see a video on that
having a dad like him, make my dream came true 😂
Anyone else like it when he messes up and shows how to fix it. Especially when it makes it fancy.
That awesome Steve! I use to took woodshop on Birmingham community charter high school hopefully I could build it.
very nice video! Nice touch the companion cube, should ask glados for one of those
Might try this! Love how it turned out & love your work! 😁
Brilliant idea well executed!
Good episode Steve.
Thanks for being real Steve! Another great video.
Looks like a fun day, or two project... thanks for sharing!
Really neat project, Steve! Two thumbs up!👍🏻👍🏻
Still though you make it look so easy. Today I tried to cut dados in an interlocking spice rack. I didn’t have a sled but I patiently cut them one at a time. Tomorrow I’ll find out if I was successful. Pictures will follow.
This does look like a better design. I was waiting for one of your mistakes to turn into something "extra fancy". :)
Great job. Really nice desk piece.
this is wonderful!!!!! many people need it!!!!!! or something like it!!!
I see a tree stump on the floor... might it be part of a future video?
super cute design lol looks simple enough
This was a good episode...really felt like classic we or something...not that your current videos are not good or anything i like them all!

The errors are committed by anyone.
Even so it was a great project.!!
Hey, Steve. Nice project, thanks for keeping it real.
As usual nicely done Steve.
I don't even own any wood or power tools. But I really enjoy watching your videos.
Looked great in the end Steve even if you did make a few mistakes
Awesome design and work.
I have to say that did look painful.. LOL! But I would say that is probably one of my top favorites builds you have done.... It now joins the list of things I must build. :-) Thank you for showing the mistakes and how you going about fixing them.
Great video and project. Keep them coming and keep up the great work.
The charging station, from the golden days of the goatee. Bring back the goat!
Thanks for the build. Nice. I really like my micro jig gripper. It makes small pieces much safer. Keep up the good work.
Hi Steve that's nice i like that and going to build one my self. by the thank you for the sticker and i'm the one that put that little Ravens key chain schedule thing in the envelope i don't know why just goofing around but anyway keep up the good work i think you are a great person Thanks Victor
A little complicated, but it looks nice and useful!
Excelent job Steve, I am with you ! Great !!
Steve: Very good your project. Hopefully I can go out like that, I need something like. Thank you
This was such a fun episode! :D Great work!
I know you are not sponsored at all anymore, and I agree with that. But I really loved everyone of those grrripper ads you made, and wanted to let you know :)
Greetings from holland

Love it, as always, Steve.
Looks good, Steve!
I need to make something like this for my desk at work. One of the best projects yet if you ask me. It has the potential for everyday use for most people.

I feel like I'm watching a tv show. Im diging your videos!
Amazing organizer
Great project, Steve! I like the custom fit spot for the companion cube. The cake is a lie!
Portal reference, instant thumbs up 👍
