I don't get the whole craze behind Verity. It's good but it had so much more potential to be better. Probably mid at best. The twist isn't reallly good. You can find better twists in Freida Mcfaddens Books. The Housemaid was very similar to it but was 10 times better

it really reminded me of an alan watts quote! (might make some mistakes here) “let’s suppose every night you were able to dream any dream you wanted to dream and that you could for example have the power within one night to dream 75 years of time. and as you began on this adventure of dreams you would fulfil all your wishes, you would have every kind of pleasure that you could conceive, and naturally you would make further and further out-gambles as to what you would dream and finally you would dream of where you are now, and that would be within the infinite multiplicity of choices you would have of playing that you weren’t god”. i really enjoyed it too, i think it was fantastically written and had the elements of philosophy and existentialism, as well as offering hope and optimism despite the atmosphere of suffering and melancholy

@@lex3025 mainly the characters. I thought the writing style was creative. Daisy is a Mary sue, great at music even though she's stoned all day and has no education or training whatsoever. Billy being a complete asshole to Camila and her being "well you are stuck with me because I'm the love of your life" ??? I liked that she forced him to be better but at the same time their relationship just seemed sad to me. Plus him and Daisy "falling in love" makes absolutely no sense. I also felt that the relationship between the brothers was underdeveloped, I expected way more resolution. And I love how one of their friends DIES at the beginning and they're like "well anyway he died moving on". The only character I liked was Camila and still i disagree with her choices so much. Daisy was so annoying, the rest of them were meh.

ok so we have veryyy different taste in books... but! I will really suggest you read red white and royal blue because it focus's more on the first son of the us and the prince is the love interest it doesn't step all that much into the royal stuff but it does focus on political campains etc. which i skim read those parts but the romance part *chefs kiss* and i know you said you dont like graphic novels but heartstopper is amazing the later books have some triggering themes but apart from that its so wholesome and realistic and my friend hates graphic novels but i covinced her to read it and now she is obsessed. As for book recs that were not mentioned in your vid, I would suggest Aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe which dont be tricked by it being called a romance it isnt haha its more an intense very emotional friendship until the last chapter but it is amazing and i would also recommend All that's left in the world. It is pretty good but not my usual taste in books (apocalyptic set after a disease worse than covid has wiped out most of the population). I would give red white and royal blue 5/5, heartstopper 5/5 (ps. watch the tv show on netflix), Ari and dante 5/5 and all thats left in the world 4/5. Oh wow sorry this was so long. Really good video btw! I always love hearing other peoples opinions and book tastes!

Honestly, don't base whether you're gonna read a book on what other people have said about it. It can result in you missing out on books that you may actually enjoy. There are so many books where people gave it low ratings and I really enjoyed it and vice versa.
For example I thought the Midnight Library was good. I gave it 4 stars. What the mob think doesn't mean you will think it too.
I read volumes 1 and 2 of heartstopper yesterday, literally only took me like half an hour to read them both. It's cute, I would recommend as it doesn't take up any of your time at all and is short and sweet.

It feels like a safety place as much as books are to me🤍

I don't get the whole craze behind Verity. It's good but it had so much more potential to be better. Probably mid at best. The twist isn't reallly good. You can find better twists in Freida Mcfaddens Books. The Housemaid was very similar to it but was 10 times better

GIRL IMMA TELL YOU RN.. Okay and also pick up heart stopper. Like please do yourself a hugeeeee favor!! Or at least watch the show it is the cutest show with such wholesome queer representation. I fell in love with it, it is a graphic novel so it reads super fast since it’s more pictures but still so amazing. All 4 novels that are currently out can be finished in an afternoon Lol Alice Oseman is amazing

I loved Song Of Achilles. It was a really good romance. I understand that you don’t like Greek Mythology though. It is not for everyone.❤
I just finished Malibu Rising two days ago and completely agree with your analysis. Definitely won’t read this again.

Please give Where The Crawdads Sing a chance. If people view the marsh as a character itself I think they would have a better outcome. If the movie trailer intrigues you, try the book! There were so many accurate nods to the book just from the trailer, I was shocked. And if you enjoy following a character throughout their life and seeing how they develop, change, and grow from the hand that they were dealt, this was such a joy. Plus some mystery!! Don’t let the “marsh” talk push you away. If people were as patient getting through the fantasy “world-building,” this is doing the same thing, I think more would enjoy it. 4.5/5 for me
