I own the 2mm version of this. Love it! I think I am going to get the 0.5 and 0.7mm to complete the set. I personally remove the pocket clips and think they look way better without them. I also am aware of the wobble on these models (it doesn't exist on the 2mm but the internals are different) but I am also prepared to do the o ring mod.

I’d rather have a spongy lead advance mechanism than a spongy tip. Good review, thanks!

My opinion, is that pencils fall when we use them and that means that no matter if the tip is retractable or not, it will bent because simply the tip is out when we use them. I think that the only real advantage, is that they can be carried easier. However, you give up a lot of precision, when precision, is the reason why you use these kind of pencils in first place. So, in my book ,a Pentel Graphgear 500, will always be the best mechanical pencil for drawing. As for shading, the best options in my humble opinion, are the Faber Castell TK 9400/ TK 4600. As also the do it all, Jack of all trades pencil, is probably the Rotring Rapid Pro 2mm

I prefer the 600 (no tip wobble) and I use a pencil case and I trust that I won't drop it during use.

if you drop it and you are fast enough you can stop it with your toes! let it bounce off the end of your foot, and it Will survive :)

@@Zach-sc9xu currently *on sale* for $95 CAD at my local art store!! Regular around $125. Would get it from Amazon but I don't want my mom finding out I'm spending this much on a pencil.

Most overrated, overpriced, least durable mechanical pencils ever made. There's nothing special about a retractable sleeve. Far cheaper, and far better, mechanical pencils have retractable sleeves. And who in the world carries any pencil without using a pen protector of some kind? You have to be dumber than a screen door on a submarine to do that, even if you do have a retractable sleeve.
Seriously, carrying a pencil loose in a backpack, or in a shirt pocket without a protector, borders on stupid, even if it's a one dollar BIC with a round plastic cone.
According to sales numbers, many are catching on to how poorly made these pencils are internally, and how overpriced they are. The company has had to slash prices on the 600 and regular 800 down to the bone because they aren't selling. There are three dollar drafting pencils on the market that mave better made mechanisms that the 800.

My biggest complaint is with the wobbly mechanism. For such a high cost, it's definitely a disappointment. I think the GraphGear 1000 is a better purchase if you're only interested in the retractable tip

@@GentlemanReviewer I like the OHTO Superpromecha. No play in the tip.

I purchased one a few months ago and it quickly became one of my favorite mechanical pencils
