This makes me feel slightly better seeing someone like yourself, who has tremendous talent and also put the work in, can actually find anything on guitar difficult to learn even from a great tutorial. It takes me a while to learn semi complicated bass parts. Guitar, wow it takes me a while to learn a simple melodic solo that I have heard a lot!
well yeah youre right, apart from that you list talent and hard work seperately. talent comes from hard work. some ppl might learn faster than others, but nobody knows if they are faster or slower learners than others or if they just havent found a method that works best for them. i always cringe when people use the word talent. because ultimately, without hard work nobody gets anywhere.

I think it’s Polyphia. If you haven’t heard them, they’re about the best guitarist on the planet. Theres a video of Tim Henson playing since he was like 10yo and it shows year by year of his progress.
I dont get this modern style of guitar music .. to me it sounds like a kid programmed some random notes in midi and use a really old/bad, synthetic guitar simulation sound.
I admire the technicalities of today's guitar players but none of that stuff is listenable. They spend all their time learning the guitar and none of the time learning how to write a decent song.
I'm not a hater and admire guitar players no matter the style, genre or generation but I can agree with your comment, it's hard to listen to those songs without losing interest after the second track
To me it doesn't feel that different from virtuoso classical musicians. The technicality gets me hyped and keeps my brain constantly trying to keep up. A lot of people say modern guitar music is only interesting to guitarists, but I've never been able to muster the patience to learn more than BARE MINIMUM basics and I still love the music.
Yeah I’m with you. I don’t dislike it all but the majority of tracks feel hard to listen to for me. Some of them sound real cheesy too. It’s still impressive to watch though
I love the way this girl is a brilliant guitarist yet still shows people the great emotions and effort and mistakes and we are all human at the end of the day! So well done sophie❤😎👍🏻
I feel her pain. Why does every prog song have to do the exact same tapping clean hybrid picky maj7 chord runs. Sure they are hard but they are all sounding the same

Because there's no time for it, it's so fast that once you finish one thing you're already doing another.
I have to agree here. Case in point early Paul Gilbert vs. current Paul Gilbert. I find the early stuff annoying even if very proficient, but as he has aged, he's slowed down a bit, but he's acquired taste.

Apparently it's about as wearing as little clothing as possible

there's a quick solution to this: don't listen to polyphia and alike
