I personally think we've peaked. This gorgeous home in amongst nature, hidden away from everyone else, the lovely wood, the balconies, the views, the bath tub! The adorable bed with the curved wood around it like a little nook, the bookshelf at the top of the living room. I would never want to give it up!
You would if u rented it out for 395 basically 400 a night lol.Me personally i would make a 2 story treehouse not too far from there like this one and rent this one out.Now that is heaven 😄
I live on Orcas and was dear friends with Maria P , the original dreamer- owner-resident. Marri never allowed anyone but herself in the tower, not even her lover, or me , her friend.. She originally dreamed, sited and began with the bath pod as a cloth sided yurt..She required the builders to avoid disturbing every single calypso orchid where the house is. I love how Suzanne has developed this fairy house into a fully equipped home. Marri had a hotplate in the closet with the tiny sink as her kitchen. So nice to see this again, thank you. I so miss Miss MarriP Marri was a fairy queen if ever there was one.

PLUS $210 cleaning fee, a $75 non-refundable damage fee, and an unspecified booking fee. Lmao nothing about this is sweet and kind. It's business; it's purely to make money.

I really appreciate how with each addition/alteration to the house, she kept everything in the spirit of the house. So many people go into a soulful house and just strip it of any original personality (and sometimes irreplaceable features) in favor of whatever happens to be chic at the time.
I absolutely agree with her. We need to see homes like this being built stop cutting down trees to make room for the home but just build the homes in or around the trees. We all need to go back to nature. ❤️ the home

Yes a mixture of Rivendale and Lothlorien! It has the architecture of Rivendale and the Lothlorien tree houses with the lights and spiral staircase and of course surrounded by the forest. As if you stepped into this mystical fairy tale that was made real. And then added a Japanese soaking tub for the "muah" kiss of perfection on top.

Gives a whole new meaning to Treehouse lifestyle!! Wow!! I could be happy like that!! I once lived in a country style house that had a skylight directly above the garden style tub and I could stare up at the stars while soaking in the tub!! It was Heaven!! I really do miss it ya'll!!
Orcas Island, in and of itself is a special place. The scenery spectacular, the people friendly, a jewel in the San Juan Islands. There was a moped rental facility close to the ferry dock which is a good way to explore the entire island and should you spend more than 48 hours, you will discover some oddities and quirks endemic to existence on a small chunk of floating land. Advise a good hat, light jacket and familiarity with the art of "layering".
I live in Seattle…..never knew something so magical was so close..in the backyard so to speak! I would definitely love to rent it. Thank you for this tour…

This is one of the finest wilderness houses I have ever seen. Its maintained in a good way, with a cheering face like Suzanne, you could stay a lot here. I like how the rooms are connected together in a Bohemian way. But it works, because it looks like Suzanne has done good job in preserving it the right way.

There's a little place in France like this too. I was there a couple of years ago and I think Sweden has a hobbit inspired place too. If you want to stay in a similar place it might be easier to go to one of those.
I would love to know exactly how she lived there. Was she on solar power? Stove on wood? Propane? Did she grow things to eat? Now, when it's rented, do the clients bring their own supplies? Is the water source pumped up by electricity? It truly is a magical place, but these things came to mind.
Yes, and in winter I wonder if it is so nice to have to go outside to access every room. It is wonderful for sure, but the more realistic view opens a lot of questions :O
@@endlessstudent3512 It's near Seattle. We're a temperate rainforest so it rarely snows or dips to freezing. It does happen, but it's rare. People in Seattle have no idea how to drive in the snow. They take days off work and school if it snows 😅 Rainforests are filled with ferns and moss. Ferns stay green year round. Go South and you'll hit Portland which gets a ton of snow. Go to Eastern Washington and you'll get the same cold snowy winters as Montana. There's very little rainforest left in the US. This is what most of the US looked like at the time of dinosaurs. Huge ferns and gigantic trees. Videos and pictures don't do it justice.

Like walking in a Fairy tale forest, especially when the sun is shining through the canopies, leaving trails of sunlight. I was there in July though and it wasn't very warm. Thats why I was asking how it is in winter. But I understand, that temparture moves neither up nor down too much. :)
I was excited at the possibility of renting, my Son and his family live in Seattle and thought it would be a fun place for us to stay during one of my visits, but then I read she no longer uses it as a rental. I do hope this is due to a change she wanted and not because a renter, or more, damaged the property. It is truly unique and she clearly invested a lot of herself into the place. This is absolutely magical. In terms of practicality- is there no restroom connected to the tower? So hypothetically one would have to go outside to get to the bathroom in the night/bad weather? Absolutely magical for a vacation, but I think just adding a toilet/sink to the tower would make it perfect.

This is absolutely magical. In terms of practicality- is there no restroom connected to the tower? So hypothetically one would have to go outside to get to the bathroom in the night/bad weather?
Absolutely magical for a vacation, but I think just adding a toilet/sink to the tower would make it perfect.
