Absolutely stunning, thank you Mat for sharing this floating home. I love every square foot of it. So well thought out and planned. So many "tiny homes'' forget that you do have friends and family over and this place allows you to throw a party if you desired? The colours allow one to make a statement without standing out in a crowd. I was thinking about adding a skylight but there really is enough light everywhere. While it has an open plan it also has designated spaces so you don't feel like you are trapped in one room. Definitely, one of the best homes you have ever shown.
I like the red barn look on the exterior, and the interior is gorgeous. Personally I would like a handrail on the ramp leading to the front door, as well as bordering the deck.
I lived on a similar houseboat w my 3 children while going through a divorce and it was amazing!!! A family of otters under the dock, a 55’ two story barge with a winding staircase full kitchen 2 bathroom washer dryer dishwasher central heating and air and a giant deck on 2nd story for sunbathing stargazing
@@maobfh a big tropical storm whipped up suddenly one night and the boat was rocking end to end (not side to side) with 3 feet above swell and it scared me and my kids terribly, so I found a place closer to their school on Pine Island. Needed to make life less stressful and more certain. But we all look back on those years on the boat as truly unique and magical.
love seeing how people adapt to small spaced, and her work was beautiful! Now... can you please do a video on that little French cottage in the background!? :D
Lovely float home. What the real estate page doesn't tell you what the annual moorage fees are. They were listed as $18,490 in 2022. I think this covers the cost of utilities and car park.
My slippage fee in Ft Myers for a 55ft barge boat which included water, parking, land facilities) was $350 a month. No doubt it's a lot more now IF you can find a liveaboard marina - due to EPA regulations, it's gotten crazy expensive.
Amazing touches and detail!! That bathroom is quite remarkable, especially for its size! Bravo! I wish I had the cash (and paperwork to live in that float home in Canada). I'd move up to Vancouver right now if I could, especially with our current oligarch in office in the US. I love my Seattle, but I love Canada, too!
ME, TOO! I'm in Oregon, but I'd move to Canada in a heartbeat. You're much too kind calling him an oligarch. He's a fascist with TDS - Tiny Dîçk Syndrome !
Dang that’s nicely done, love the look, and the kitchen and bathroom! 😃 Only thing is I cant do a loft as living space. But otherwise it’s a great setup.
Really cool, I'd love it but only a few changes for me personally. More live edged wood shelves in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom to warm things up...conversational furniture "around"the fireplace and higher walls upstairs ..lol
I think after many years she's just ready for a change. Sounds like she really loved the float home life and I'm sure she'll miss aspects of it but maybe it's just time for something new. Thanks for checking out the video, hope you enjoyed the tour :)
Gorgeous home but it appears there may be nowhere to moor it. I looked at the marina's website and all permanent mooring is closed due to a restructure and rebuild of the marina

That sounds like a really special place. I love the idea of having otters as your neighbors :) Thanks for watching :)
What encouraged you to move away?

Is this a boat shed or a floating house? Boat sheds are not usually floating, so your title is a bit confusing 😮
Shouldn't you be living in a houseboat for your honeymoon

Beautiful interior and inside home :) Love
Thank you so much!
Warm surfaces and materials, space moves with gentle dynamism, and the red exterior is novel, dear. This is wonderful. Respect-
We really appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching!

Thanks. I was looking for this.
Is that Canadian dollars? If so, that's about 12.5K US (for those of us in the US). I assume this is Vancouver, yes?

We agree! We really love the kitchen and bathroom too! 😄 Thanks for watching!
Loft is what is the most appealing to me.
I get the feeling you have been at this marina before. Maybe not the same house, but I do recognise a few of the houses.
Change the only constant.
Whoa! At 11:26 is that an English country house floating on the water❓⁉️❓
Sure does look like it. I wonder what it looks like inside.
Really cool, I'd love it but only a few changes for me personally. More live edged wood shelves in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom to warm things up...conversational furniture "around"the fireplace and higher walls upstairs ..lol
Lovely! Why did you leave it?

recommend lifeline and stanchions for the upstairs, you know it, you r a boater
funny coincidence, I've been 3D modeling such a house since Jan. 30th.
That's awesome! Best of luck with your creation!
@@ExploringAlternatives thanks. it's nothing serious. just a hobby to recreate the architecture that appears in my dreams.
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Would love to know who had to get that sofa in there.

Easily 200K overpriced! Based on a total cost of ownership model, however it is Vancouver, where everything is 40% over priced

This is a just an ad guys.
I need to see people in the video. Not a fan of voice overs.

You don't have to show the inside, but if you don't I'm not going to watch.
