Defense spending leads to innovation, which spills into the private sector, such as communications equipment, microwave ovens, infrared technology, plane engines etc etc. The sector also emplys a lot of smart people and contributes a lot to 401k’s. Also, it is a major deterrent against countries that would be tempted to challenge the us, such as iran, china, korea etc. Russia cannot simply capture Greenland for instance, like they did with Crimea, because the us military would be up their ass. The purpose is to save lives, not to have wars.
All good points there, and yet the massive amount of money spent on military is out of proportion. Especially in the context of questions regarding health care or education.

I voted for Bernie in the 2020 democratic primary. I was so depressed that he wasn't the democratic candidate. But with that said, I'm glad that I was able to vote for Joe Biden for the 2020 presidential election and I believe we will lead our country into the right direction for the next four years

Besides the fact this specific year was very unique regarding military spending (USSR had just collapsed, USA emmerged superpower), and many other countries' military spending has increased a lot by now - even the next largest, China's, with 170$ billion still kind of pales in comparison to US' 700$ billion (especially when taken as a meassure of population).
Also the fact that sooooo many wellfare-legislations, and just general benefits to the US public, could be achieved through reducing the funding to the military and funneling it to other venues, without increasing the taxes whatsoever.

Hundreds of thousands in every state don't see their votes being represented because all of the votes in that state go to one candidate. Many don't even bother voting because at the end of the day, their vote doesn't matter. I live in Indiana and I live in a mostly Republican state. However, every election I vote Democratic, and every election, my vote and thousands of other people's votes are disregarded because Republicans were the majority in the state. More states should be like Maine and Nebraska, where the votes of the state are split and aren't decided by "winner take all".

Secondly I supported Bernie, but as soon as Biden became the presidential nomination for the Democrats I urged people to vote for him despite heavily disliking him myself, as the alternative was horrific.
Thirdly, please just state any arguments you have plainly, without overly using capital letters. They can be effective when used in moderation but you seem to have gone to the Trump University when it comes to writing. Have some pride in what you say and treat it with dignity. I’m not some young naïve child who doesn’t understand how the world works. Also I don’t care how much money you make, that is completely irrelevant and comes across as you simply attempting to impress people with it, which is not a good look. It is a peculiar statement to say you would have been just fine financially with a republican in charge, as if this were to somehow convince me that maybe another 4 years of Trump would not be a hellscape of misery. I’m queer and if I lived in the US would have seen my human rights rolled back over the last few years to the point where I could be dying in the street and a hospital could say “No we won’t help them, they’re bi” and then I would have died. I could be denied the ability to adopt a child if the agency decided they didn’t like my queerness. And so much more. I would not be surprised if under another 4 years of republican rule it would have been made illegal to teach children about people like me, or even made conversion therapy mandatory for all queer people nationwide (or maybe just in certain states). There is not a day that goes by that I am grateful that that future will not come to pass.

The military knows what type of strategy they will soon exercise before the American people know. Destabilization is a part of that strategy.
