The “clamshell openers” as you call them are for opening boxes (cutting tape or thin cardboard) without damaging what is inside the box. Not for cutting through plastic.
Scissors are much better than Victorinox! No little spring to get jacked up and have to be replaced down the road. Way to go Leatherman. Nice review Sir!
Sad to see you using the small screwdriver of the awl on a way to large screw. Anyone knows you mess up small screwdrivers using them like that. Leatherman, victorinox or any other make. Seeing this makes my toes curl.

I use the toothpick to clean the grooves in my Victorinox. Works great for that 😊
