Hey not trying to teach u anything but for griffin try and gain lots of altitude and do a drop halfway and another one right after u loose the first drops speed, its guaranteed out of render range
U have to actually touch the water with ur hitbox for the buff steve
So they changed the crystal wyverns from the first map to be an egg steal tame instead of passive tame? Did they yeet away the ability to breed them too?
The speed buff is only if your in the water
@@loliegamerd5135 lol no, it's a 30 second buff from the last time you touched the water. You can test this by landing in the water, take off again and check your damage numbers. Check again when the buff has run out.
At that point, I don't think it's a flying speed buff at all. I bet it's an attack speed buff. I think this because over the last few days, the longest distance i've been chased was 2 map squares by these bastards and barely manage to outrun them. Like, they're still so fast they are able to bite my wyvern as i try to fly away.
You HAVE to put something between you and them so they get stuck or distracted. the old wyvern trap bird cages might work with a good high stam ptera.
the tropical wyvern's buff isnt from flying over water, its from touching it. you have to get the hitbox barely into the water but not enough to dismount you
You can fly a curve with the tropical wyvern so that the tip of his wing slightly touches the water. Works fine and you will never dismount.
The water has to reach u for u to dismount off the wyvern so does it really matter?
also when you get the buff a splash of water animation shows under you and a sound effect as well.
Bruh he litterally gets the buff by flying over it in the video.....

Poor Nooblets was flying over the river at the same speed the whole time.
You gotta touch the water with your wyvern, but not too deep or you'll get dismounted.
To lose wyverns, fly STRAIGHT UP until u hit world ceiling, then drop straight down, you'll be going so fast you've left render range halfway down. No need for any traps or anything.

On the third method with the ramps you can have friends at the ramps shooting the wyverns unconscious and taking their crystals to really maximize it.

Cull as many wild animals in the zone as you can. The new stuff spawns based on wild counts already spawned.
Right?! I got 5 eggs in two hours. I never even bother with the spots inside. But there are a plenty of wyverns.

You HAVE TO/MUST touch the water to get the buff. So long as the wings hit you don't have to go deep.

The tactics are executed correctly, but not in the most efficient way. At least it gives the idea for the general players. And you mentioning the wyvern comb is a great memory of the past.
Whats more efficient then?
Instead of continuously diving with Griffin he stopped to show the distance, if he did that he would have outrunned the wyverns in half the time. Also building the wyvern comb at the border of the biome increases the chances of despawning the aggroed wyverns, so they won't come back to chase you after you return.
Agreed man I love booklets but his Griffin skills are pretty bad lol u could lose a wyvern in a Griffin in seconds
I like the coloring on the one with the red stripe best, but the highest level matters most.
Use a tropeo for stealing eggs. Won't have to worry about getting caught

You need to chain bola it and then it’s a passive tame. Nooblets got a video guide on that as well I think
There's another method with griffin, as soon as get the egg fly straight up to the ceiling and drop all the way down when the dragon reaches you. You'll lose render and you're free.

The White and Black one with the red strip is my favorite by far
can absolutely be done on a ptera with the classic gates trap (5 gateframes, pillars on the end and gate on opening end) and it's way faster. Just fly OVER the trap to get to the gate to close it or else they will escape but this method is safer and more reliable/can be done easier solo

Cool video, but I as far as the egg stealing goes, I found a much less time consuming method to acquire them with a Pteranodon. I built 8 plant species X turrets in 2 groups of 4 quite close to the hive, stole the eggs, flew back to the turrets (evasively) and had the Wyvrens shot down quite reliably. Using this method I bagged 3 eggs (and 4 Wyvrens) in the time it took you to make your escape with just one, I mean, they can't aggro on you if they're dead. Keep up the good work all the same.

I was stealing some eggs on a pteranodon and luckily there were no wyverns nearby so I managed to make it out safely
Using a Daeodon with the healing buff on and having it eating from a feeding trough constantly and using stimulant to keep the wyvern awake you don't need any crystals to get it to an adult.
that only works on official or if your wyvern isn't low level/has enough food. Also you prob can't imprint that way because 9/10 times they want those damn crystals. It's ok for a discount wyv though
You can cryo them to change the imprint want
You can place behemoth gates on the come if you want to keep the dragons also you can tame wyvern you’ve knocked out with the trap if just wait a little

You can escape on Petradons without building that just span the analogue stock it gives you a little speed boost every so often makes it easy to escape

Not sure if this works on CI but it does on rag. All you have to do is kite the wyverns that are following you to a wild dino and they will usually drop agro. I have had them drop agro on a ptera more times than I can count. Just another suggestion for you all. Happy hunting!!

So... for what I could see, it was easier to actually tame them than raising them.
The large bear trap + gate strategy works perfectly to get enough crystals to tame an adult one. My main base is in Valguero, but it could also be possible to build an outpost in crystal isles.
Raising them gets you higher levels and imprint buffs
When you built the Scorched Earth Trap, wow, nostalgia at its finest I must say (remembered that video).
As for the wyvern I like, the black and white one, reminds me on a little kitten.
you use the chase to your benfit if you build a gyphone type trap and fly with a good ptera. you can get the cyrstal at the same time as you get the egg. also used to clear the lower levels so they dont lay shitty eggs

Maybe this is a dumb question. But if you have a disposable flying mount can you just fall into the water? I mean will the Crystal wyverns chase you underwater or will they hover at the surface and give up?
You will have to swim far without popping up
My first egg was a 225, my first wyvern egg ever too, all thanks to fhe griffin method, that eyvern is now fully imprinted and ready to level
are you on moded server? couse on regular/singer player there arent eggs anymore
You could theoretically use an Ichthyosaurus as well, since the desert is so close to the ocean
Ppl used to call me crazy or dumb for using a trop wyv to steal eggs..but that hydration boost literally makes you go fast enough to lose Aggro from the eggs to the end of the desert biome near the white sand area

If you can get a Tropognathus and a ton of fuel it becomes son much easier. I wouldn't use one for SE though as the trench is a bit tight (and the Wyvern are slower).
Nooblets I think the reason it was only giving you half of the crystals is because at 15:39 the [E] Take Crystals was grey not white like the one that gave you full crystals so maybe it has to do with when the Webern was last knocked out and harvested or health level mayeb

Yes, they can be breed. The modded creatures tend to work a lot differently than vanilla, and they kept this quirk when Crystal Isles became official.

6:30 i have a better idea a griffen is smaller than a wyvern so fly between the trees so you make them stuck and run away . or just do it like me get you a good pteradon with a nice stamina , steal the egg and flay as fastest as you can they won't catch up to you cuz you are small and faster .

You only have 5 empty inventory slots you need to off load more stuff. Then you will get all the crystals

Interesting. So normal crystal wyverns can be passive tamed too. Kinda cool that they gave us two different ways to get them
Build a 2x2 base nearby with 4 auto turrets on the roof. Steal the egg and fly to the gun base, no more wyverns chasing you.

To escape wyvren on SE i build a dino gate couple pillars either side with ceilings on top. Put metal spike walls on top and one either side. Pter, owl and Griffin fit through wyvren gets stuck while you get out of render. I have a couple a apart just in case one gets missed
Touch water with the wvr wings and the speed just increase. But u must touch water to do so.
Can you collect multiple crystals from the same trapped whyvern?
There is a one hour cooldown to collect the crystals.

I suggest a pteranidon to take the egg and run then have a place set up with a bunch of dinos and then head there once the parents reach you then go into the dinos and let them kill the wyverns

I dont think you can tame the heirs
You can't tame the heirs, and if you hatch one of thier eggs it just becomes a normal crystal wyvern
They arnt even that much stronger as wilds the most i took from a heir was 68 or 70 damage i was on my ember wyvern

The Amber wyvern looks the coolest
The tropical wyvern has to hug the water to get the boost. If you don't see the icon in the top right, you're not receiving the boost.
I would like to point out that you need to touch the water with the tropical wyvern before you are able to get the hydration buff, but how you were flying was pointless you weren't close enough to the water.
and you said that sometimes it doesn't show but that's not true, it doesn't show up when you don't have the buff.
If you go under the water and secrifice your tame will they fallow you?
I’ve done it with a Teridon and I got the wyv to get stuck between trees
It’s called a pteranodon (te-raan-o-don)
So the buff is a area of effect you have to be just above the water
You could escape much faster on a Griffin if you flew it like you were trying to escape
on a rock drake it's very easy to get out of render distance
I was looking for eggs one day but see squat!!!
It seems to be very different in console as well. I accidently went in the rat hole and there was like 15 wyverns. I got out of there quickly and 2 wyverns followed me, used the water buff but still had them on my chewing my ass. Then thanks to ark mechanics. Ran out of stam, and couldn't do pretty much anything. 80% health tropical just sitting there getting slaughter to death since i never regen any stam. The thing was I was originally looking to tame an anky and other dinos so I lost about 400 tranq arrows in the whole ordeal😑😑😑.
Love your vids nooblets but i do have a question why not just use the oviraptor trick no aggro whatsoever, except if one flies by but it wont be because of stealing the egg.
