650 a YEAR? lol, as a licensed insurance agent, I find that figure hilarious. 650 for 6 months is more common, and I am licensed in every state so I see a lot of policies.

George has grossly UNDER-estimated the cost of an accident. If you only have $100,000 liability that's going to disappear very quickly if you are liable. I changed from $100,000 to $1M liability and it cost me an extra $6 per month. Well worth two ice creams per month
What if I was comming over the railroad tracks and crossing the street that ran parallel to the tracks, the driver leaves his stop sign and speeds infront of me. Why would I have caused the accident, my foward progress was violated. I have the right of way ( no stop sign), isn't that federal?
Hi new subscriber here. I love your videos, i was involved in an accident and it was my fault, the other driver sent the bill to my insurance which is $120,000. I only have liability of $15,000. I am going to pay for the rest or anything else? What about if the other driver sued me? Should I pay for anything??
I have a four year degree in insurance, a CPCU designation, and 30 plus years of Property and Casualty experience. Obviously, George has none of these. I do not know his area of expertise, but it is not insurance. Your liability limits should be at least the total of your net assets. You get a personal liability umbrella to cover exposures from you cars and your property. $1,000,000, $2,000,00 or whatever.
Why do you have to specify 4 year degree when you can just mention the P&C experience? Also, your career would mean you have the capability to introduce the most bias. George can still potentially have a better perspective for the average person (likely not $2 mil) and the consumer end.
For those that wonder why someone might mention having a CPCU designation, ask your own agent if they have this. Most do not. But if you’d rather not deal with an experienced expert, just go with someone that has more experience trying to be an “influencer.” Good luck.

Even more importantly, get a dash cam guys! And Multiple! Not just for the front, but the back and sides too!
What does it matter what you have if the Insurance Companies refuse to pay anyway!
Yeah really ! They should do a video about THAT !
Learn about your rights and hold them to that standard.

Yeah I'm like hhmmmmmmm
Maybe 4-5 years ago $650 a year was the yearly average for premiums, but not anymore!
Damn I paid 399 for liability only 2023 in switzerland. You guys get ripped off in the us.
This video is so underrated. One thing though, you should have added the umbrella coverage, which Dave recommends.
What is umbrella coverage ?

George please do a video on what auto insurances are out there that do run credit checks for those who have no FICO scores.

I don't think he said $100,000 ! I think he recommended $500,000 !
How did that cost $6 more?? Progressive said that for me to go from 30,000 to 50,000 it would cost $50 a month more

Great content!
Thanks George! I just sent an email to my insurer to change my coverages.

So what ended up happening
Just know civil law suit, you’re not forced to pay. That’s my question too tho

Mr Smith, why are you so offensive and hurtful ?
4 years degree in insurance? Wow they have a degree for everything

This is not 100% true. This is for a tort state. In No-Fault states like Michigan, your own insurance pays for your own injuries
Liability
Does the liability insurance pay for stolen car? For example if someone damn ass steel ur car, how much the liability will pay?
No it will not. Liability only covers someone else. Theft falls under the comprehensive portion of your insurance which is not required.
No it doesnt, but if you have comprehensive insurance added on your insurance it will cover it depending on how much you have the comprehensive for.
$650 a year? Prove it. Not in the United States.
