Great to see you back my friend, it's been too long. I don't remember this calculator but i fondly remember my Casio MG-880 which had a simple but addictive game. Anyway, another satisfying video to watch, always a treat. Best wishes to you
Thanks so much skyway, great to be back. Always a pleasure to get your feedback on the videos. Hope that you are well. I'm not familiar with the MG-880 I'll look it up. Thanks again for your continued support and patience
Hi 8-Bits how great to hear from you. I was just thinking about you the other day. I've been buying a lot of more obscure computers recently and was wondering about a Thomson. I thought I know a man who knows. So I'll be revisiting your channel soon to pick up on some of your great work there. There's an update on the channel comments about what's been going on more generally with me. Anyway thanks for your kind words, we'll have to think of a way we can do a co-op when I get back into the swing of things.
Thanks Darren, Its not my plan to wait so long, its been quite the year for various reasons. But it's great to be back and I really appreciate the comments. I'm flattered you missed the vids. Thanks so much
Hey @ghost-retro3733, welcome back! so glad that you have stuck around. I hope that you are doing really well. Thanks for your kind words. I am genuinely glad that you like the vid.
Great to see a new video 🎉 Nice repair! I don’t have this model but I do have a Casio boxing calculator BG-15 and all the keys apart from the Adjust key are the same height. I was maybe the envy of my class mates at school for a couple of days before it got stolen from my school bag! I bought one off eBay a few years ago for a hit of nostalgia! The case is also loose, one screw thread is worn and the top clips are probably bent, but it still works.
Thanks Matt, great to know that somebody who's already subscriber had something similar. Looking back as I edited the video I did suspect something like that as the "AC" key is recessed in the front panel and only the adjust looked flat. I think my theory on the membrane having been molded that way was wrong. It's a funny game, when you record a video, say something as you are doing it and then afterward when editing think... that was wrong and have to decide whether to keep it in or do another jarring cut. I think I would have enjoyed boxing more than football. I'd probably be better at punching a an LCD person than kicking an LCD ball. Anyway thanks again for your comments, glad the video brought back some nostalgia and thanks also for answering the button query. All the best Roger
Finally someone is excited when an old LCD games comes back to life. Man I hate young dudes who repair such things with a complete don't care attitude. Clearly they lack any nostalgic connection whatsoever.
Thanks! And thanks for your continued support and patience. I've had a few things going on that have made it hard to post vids. Good to see some familiar viewers. Thanks so much for you comment
That's the plan! (Although it doesn't always go that way) Thanks so much for your kind words and for taking time to comment. Truly appreciated! Glad that you enjoyed the video
Good to be back. It's been a hell of a year. Looking forward to a better 2025! Hopefully get some more vids for all to enjoy. Thanks so much for your patience and kind words
LoL you never know.... I do still own the E-bike, and I do have somewhere to store it now. It may yet have one last hoorah before It goes to be ... a-hum... "re-cycled". Thanks for the comments and patience. New videos are on their way
OH Thank Goodness I beat Man U! As somehow I ended up been a follower of Bolton Wanders, it would have been horrendous to lose that derby. Thanks for your comments! glad you enjoyed the video
Good restoration. A little comment. Avoid handle the batteries with your "bare fingers". It can shortsen the life of the batteries. The reason is rhe fat from your fingertips. Regards Stig Österberg from Dalsbruk in Finland.
Great advice Stig. Thanks I'll remember that for next time. Thanks for your comments and massive welcome to a viewer from Finland. Glad than you enjoyed the video.
Hi @cyklist a great question, with many answers.... 1) That's what Casio called the calculator, so that's what I called the calculator. Casio use both "Football" and "Soccer" on the game, although "Soccer" is in much larger print. Take a look at the video again (I could do with the views). Generally I aim to refer to something by the name of that thing. 2) I'm old. Growing up in the 70's and 80's the term "soccer" was used a lot (Like the Sky Sports "Soccer Saturday" or ITVs "Soccer Night") . 3) Soccer is actually very much a British term, and historically was used extensively in Britain to distinguish "association football" from "rugby football". 4) We as humans use many words interchangeably, sometimes without being aware. 5) Language is funny thing. In the UK we get "post", delivered by the "post" man (or woman), who works for the royal "mail". In the US they get "mail", delivered by the "mail" man, who works for the "post"office. 6) Many of my viewers are from the US or elsewhere. 7) The internet isn't just for the UK I could go on, but I am curious.... did you get this far? I do wonder whether people read these responses. Anyway must dash... I have some Epost in Gmail I need to get to. :)

Why are you saying "soccer"? No British people ever say that.
