I absolutely adored the RX-8 I drove from new for 9 years. This successor looks like it will cost way north of the RX-8's very reasonable price tag. Absent a minor lottery win, I highly doubt I'll be buying one.

Its hard to believe anything these days that isn’t released from the actual company
photos are ai. Text on license plate is gibberish and the logo is wrong is nearly all shots. Nothing newer than the RX-vision tease. We do have patents (us+jap) that show they are lining up for a awd hybrid rotary high performance sports car. So the RX9 is basically guaranteed. But nothing officially called a RX9 yet. And nothing officially confirmed yet.
Design of chassis looks little bit too polished to me. Same feeling I get seeing the lucid air car.
Honestly I would say a RX has to be a tool for crazy workouts on lonely roads in the hills or so. Not with luxury specs like massage seats and the likes.

Had an Rx8 it was fun but unreliable and got horrible MPG. 12 miles mpg on a good day.
the rotary engine isn’t made to have good mpg lol… and it depends how you took care of the car… Rotary engines can be reliable if you take care of it properly (RX-7 owner)

In 1990s Mazda had bad reputation. The cars had electric problems. Mazda halted the production until 2000. In MID 2000, Mazda some how improved itself. By selling more mazda3 & mazda6. Especially Mazda 3 which became more popular & sold well. I personally, prefer to have Mazda3 over Nissan sentra. However, mazda rx7 was much popular sport car in late 80s & early 90s. Unfortunately, Mazda wasn't able to produce solid well reliable and high performance sports car. I hope Mazda RX9 doesn't disappoint its fans..
