I know this is a very technical / mechanical video, but I wanted to show you the BTS of this job and what goes into it. BusLife isn’t just puppies and ice cream. It’s expensive break downs and repairs.

Not that they aren't, but this video is the kind of thing that will keep a mechanic honest. I think the fact that they allowed you to make this video in the first place shows their honesty. Brilliant idea to make this documentary of the tear down and diagnosis. Awesome video.

I would take my business there. Those two look to be very knowledgeable and seem like they enjoy what they do. Very nice of them to take the time to let you film the process and explain what they are looking for to determine whats good and bad.

Hey Jax hello guys at the transmission repair. I’m from Indianapolis and my grandfather worked at Allison in Speedway. So did our neighbor. I enjoy watching stuff like this. My husband was a Chrysler mechanic for 17 years before buying a Chrysler dealership. So watching repair is enjoyable to me.

It's awesome that these guys let you in the back, walked you through the inspection/rebuild and video them as well. Most wouldn't. Good choice on upgrading to the mt643 and I love your beginning comment on not replacing a good trans out of fear. While the at545 isn't great, there is so much fear mongering that goes on about it on the forums it isn't funny.

Bud Sims the guys say it’s mostly the wear parts aka the friction, but as you can see, there’s a ton of seals and gaskets in there. Hope it goes well for ya!

On the price really depends on what hard parts go out. The planetary gears would be the most. If they have one there you should have them show what the inside of a manual trans looks like.

this is an excellent video.. amazing how similar to a 545 it is inside.. just alot beefier.. can you guys do a video on valve body checking and adjustments? I have a 643 that every shift is perfect except my WOT 3-4 is low.. the shifts are 2600-2700 WOT for 1-2, and 2-3, but my 3-4 is low at 2300-2400 RPM,.. i understand its possible at the valve body to adjust single shifts with the trim wheels.. my experience with allisons has been with the newer stuff where I adjust the shifting by changing the computer program.. id like to raise my 3-4 shift on this 643.. my modulator cable and shift cable adjustments are correct according to my IH manual..
