Listening to this while reading the last part of Light From Uncommon Stars. ✨🌌🎻 Had been listening to Paganini up until the point Bartók was mentioned. Love enhancing my reading with related music or ambience.
I listened to this a lot back in early 1980. I was just coming to the end of my college years and probably more open to new music, sounds etc, than at any other time in my life. I loved Menuhin’s version and couldn’t really take to any other violinist’s way of doing it. How deep can music get?
I had listened a lot to Menuhin playing this sonata when I was a teenager. I wasn't able to reconize it. Finally I found out the reason: I had the recording he made in 1959 (antoher one).
Anyone else here because of "Light from Uncommon Stars" ?

Masterful performance, and a treasur vinyl, which should be sometime released in CD.
Stunning! Thanks for posting this~
Menuhin's third recording of the work he commissioned from the ailing composer.
It like three violins
