i agree. locknuts are a one time use. i like to paint the insert like you did but i also like to cover the insides of the frame and liner with grease. added a few grease fittings along the length of the liner for adding grease later.
Frame question-. I read your replacement frame is now a single 3/8", just curious what thickness the new sleeve is as well as what was the original frame? Was it double 1/4"? Thanks! You are doing great work on that, don't keep track of the hours or you'll probably knock your socks off at the end 😁
You're doing really great work, I wouldn't mind paying for your work. I couldn't do it but I can tell good work when I see it. My dad was a mechanic so I learned from him. Then I started driving a truck in 1965. Wish I lived close to you so I could drop by and say hi. But on second thought most good welders and shop people don't want people hanging around. Does no one make a kit to order for putting on air front axles? Oh and how long will it be when you're finished? Good luck and my best wishes to you. Cheers.
The frame is coming along nice. Can you say how many acres you farm and what you grow? Excellent video already looking forward to the next one. Have a good day.
@@matthewsmotorsportsgarage7407 thanks for the reply. I grew up in the 60s next door to a dairy farm. I worked there until I got out of school in 76. A lot of hard work but I can’t imagine a better place to grow up. Hope your upcoming growing season is good. Don from NH
In this video the guy has built a brilliant oil change cart out of an old shop tool box. Will contain 20 Gal. and is the kind of thing every shop should have. He also demonstrates a slip on clutch brake. Never heard of such a thing until now. ruclips.net/video/RAN1JTtOjOc/видео.html
No actually my friend had them. He said they were freightliner frame sections an it fit perfect inside the new frame that I ordered from PG ADAM'S. The rears are New model 379 an they are 3/8 thickness. Hope that helps.
They are nice. I got mine about a year ago. I would recommend getting carbine anular bits. I did not have much luck with HSS ones. The carbide ones I use are the cheap ones off of amazon.
I did get an old school pump oil can which worked real good for putting cutting oil on it when you are drilling on the frame. Are you building your own air ride kit?
Nice having all the tools to do a proper job 👍🏻

I put grease in but it was a pain.
Awesome work as always
How about a shop tour??😃 see all kinds of machines in the shop👍 Btw. Little proces is better than none👍
Yeh it all takes time.

It's came a long way already
It's such a big project. You just try to get something done every week an not look at how much there is to do.

Did you order them frame sleeves or have them made? I need to do the back of my 359

3/8 thickness on the frame rails.
I need a mag drill 😅

@@matthewsmotorsportsgarage7407 good to know. I’m going to have to get one when I do my front air ride.
