Now JC as hard as that lady works you should give her anything she wants for her birthday. I think a strawberry bed is small compensation for all her hard work. But if that is her wish then it is her wish and it should be fulfilled. Happy upcoming birthday Mrs. JC. Oh yea great job on the truck...
Glad U both R feeling better. It is plain to see that Ur workmanship & knowledge is A-1, 1st class & as professional as it gets! No one will ever have to worry about this frame stretch failing. Thank you both for sharing w/ us all.
Shout out to the world's greatest detailer mrs JC (lady) for maintaining the highest of standards for QC inspector when it comes to signing off on the workmanship on all your projects
Mrs J.C. Smith is a rock star. Most of the women i know wouldn't go in the shop never mind running a needle gun. You two make a great team. You sir are a lucky man.
JC I've been watching you for years your speciality is truck frame extensions I love watching you create them. Your wife is a trooper needle scaling rust ( soo glamorous) while also being an awesome baker ( previous episodes ) this truck will be awesome 👌 👏 👍
yes and no. he likes how i do things but he doesnt want to take the time to do it my way. its unfortunate for him. i dont change how i do things to suit others. it is what it is. if he wanted it fast, he should have taken it elsewhere.
Enjoyed the video very much 🙂👍 It's all coming together nicely. The strawberry bed will be an interesting video if you film it. Mrs.S done a great job with the needle scaler. Glad you both are feeling better and happy wrenching 🔧
Glad you guys are feeling better. I like how the frame is coming along. Mrs. JC is awesome for always helping you out on your projects!!! True teamwork!!!
2:20 i've had great success with putting grease as you did and silicone. Silicone on around the bolt holes and on the perimeter. My brother needed a similar job for a truck to move his sprayer stuff on the farm and i helped him with it about a decade or so ago, we pulled it apart to change the axles to heavier duty ones just before the pandemic hit and basically no rust between the reinforcement and the old frame. A single blotch off rust was near the bottom, but that section was slightly bent, so i suspect we either didn't put enough silicone to make the pieces meet, or the bend was post marriage and opened up that spot for water to seep in. Considering the truck has no bed, as all the sprayer components (tanks + pumps + compressor) are sat directly on it on a rail system, the silicone was the MVP.
Every time we look at that thing it looks like it's getting longer and longer. I admire your attention to detail. Looking good for sure! Thanks for sharing. 🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸👍
Glad you both are doing well again ! As far as the frame goes i dont think that frame could ever rust again great work you two ! As far as the jewelry goes your a real sweetheart HA! HA!
Glad y'all are feeling some what better. Hopefully it passes soon but as we see nothing keeps you guys down. Always hard at it and man Love that Hp set up it's a beast and your craftsmanship I tell ya it's very few and far between anymore class act you guys thats is an amazing frame stretch and looks great to Hard work pays off that's a lesson the younger generation has forgotten sad but true. Well hope you guys continue to get better and can't wait to see the next video. Have a good one!!
Dear J.C. Smith. 👍👏👌 Oh WOW! Perfect, just perfect! 2) Glad to see that you two are feeling better. 3) Maybe it's only the camera perspective but the truck looks mighty long. 4) I know you know that you are married to a really, really great woman. Congrats! Additionally she is pretty too. 5) I guess it will be a pretty sturdy raised garden bed if it's done in the well known J.C. style. I hope that the skid steer will be strong enough to move it and you don't need the gradall. 😁 ;-) But jokes aside: I once built a raised garden bed out of boards 40mm thick and 200mm wide (called Baudielen in Germany). For holding them together I used thick zinc coated angle iron (similar to half of a truck frame). Overkill of course but that's the way I like it. To cover the wood from moisture/garden soil, I used sturdy pond liner. And of course I didn't forget to put a rodent barrier mesh under the complete raised bed. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and especially health.
Dear @@j.c.smithprojects Thanks for replying and especially for another heart. I totally and always appreciate both very much. 2) Of course not! So it will have to be the strong gradall to handle the raised garden bed element! 😂😂 3) I love Strawberries too. Sincerely yours Christian
Nice weld job. What a blessing to have your wife working right by your side. Mine did the same thing when she was alive. I truly miss that time in life. Enjoy it while you can you two and always be thankful for this time. I hate to say it but one day it will be no more... 😭😭😭 You like to live dangerously JC offering her that "jewelry" 🤣🤣🤣 You better get to work on her strawberry bed while you can still walk 🤣🤣🤣
I can't tell you enough how impressed I am by your work. This and any truck you work on is so solid. My hats off and thank you again for showing us the how's and why's along the way.
Great video J.C.Smith the frame is coming along nicely the way you want it done. Glad you and the Mrs. Are feeling better. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mr. & Mrs J.C.Smith.
The knowledge and workmanship are awesome. Glad your wife and you are a great team. Keep up the great content and videos. Hope you both get healthy. And let good speed the projects the way you like them.
Did wonder why there wasn't an update sooner . Glad your both on the mend and feeling better guys. This series just goes to show how much work actually goes into stretching a frame. Big shout out to the lady wife for keeping the quality control up and getting stuck in with the build . I'm sure others will agree she deserves her strawberry patch now . Great half hour video this end I'm sure it was a lot longer at yours thanks guys
Now that is some really sharp jewelry you got going there JC But you better get making that raised strawberry patch for her since she is the boss & works her bunns off helping in the shop ! Happy Birthday Mrs C. mines next month too 4/26
Glad y'all are feeling well enough to get back to work . lots of work but it's worth it to do it right . Gonna be a great ruck when finished . Still a lot to do but your getting there . Great video .
You do above and beyond what necessary, the frame will last way beyond the rest of the truck, nice ethic. I would buy anything you build, if I needed it.
Glad to see you guys are feeling better,I absolutely love your attention to detail, and as I have said before you two are like me and my wife absolute soul mates. Great job guys 👍
Coming along nicely J.C . The mag drill is a time saver…I remember over a decade ago drilling with tapered reams the frame holes on Mack’s…the replacement trunnion frames used inch diameter bolts . The trucks were rear load packer garbage trucks so you drilled them kneeling or on a mechanic seat…the entire job was back breaking start to finish….but then I got a mag drill lol …only way to go
J.C I have that same metal cutting saw and when we cut 1/1/2 or 2 inch aluminum one guy operates the saw and one guy uses a blow gun and spays air in directly in the motor and the saw does not heat up or trip the breaker …some times we run the saw with out the chip tray so the saw blade does not bid up when cutting real soft aluminum
I wouldn't even joke with the world's greatest helper, and she makes strawberry anything! Yes Dear how high and how long would you like beds for your strawberries!
Glad you’re feeling better. Do you number parts for reassembly? I imagine the extra 1/16 larger holes are for any alignment issues. Your results speak for themselves, I was just wondering. Looking forward to the raised planter build! Thanks
Hey JC love your videos man I may have mentioned this before in a comment but you inspired me/ gave me the confidence to modify my pick up by adding a dumping flat bed. I am wondering why you don't use polyurethane sealant in-between the liner and the frame. You'd never get them back apart again but that seems like a non issue to me. What do you think?
First you both are perfect for each other. This is what makes this RUclips channel great. When you both do a project you put your heart and soul into it and it shows. Nice job on the project looking forward to seeing the next video. Have a Blessed One.
Dam that was one of your best that I’ve watched yet. Only one big problem I see is. I thought you were doing it on the cheap. You should never say that because those words are foreign to you. Better make whatever your Fantastic wife wants out of gold. No as far as l can see you’ll probably say Platinum would be better so just forget I said a word.

worth noting that she absolutely hates using the needle scaler too. so what does that tell you.
@@j.c.smithprojects let’s be real I hate using the scaler too honestly. 2 tools in my shop I hate using air hammer and needle scaler

Been working on raised beds most of the winter , built them in shop. Strawberries are tough the birds seem to attack them .
I wouldn't even joke with the world's greatest helper, and she makes strawberry anything! Yes Dear how high and how long would you like beds for your strawberries!
i told her, "when you can tell me where you want it, i will build it. but not until then." the locations changes often.
This one truck has frames under it from, what, 5 trucks? Its original, the long donor, the liner, and the 2 outer reinforcements?
wow
P G Adams sells frames and cross members 17:13
this isnt a pg adams budget kind of build.
Some day you should power wash the inside of those bay doors
not high on the priority list.
That frame looks like it will hold a building.
penetrol added to oil based paint for first coat makes it stick to old metal better
Glad you’re feeling better. Do you number parts for reassembly? I imagine the extra 1/16 larger holes are for any alignment issues. Your results speak for themselves, I was just wondering. Looking forward to the raised planter build! Thanks
no. i dont number anything. not critical at all. some parts have certain characteristic that make it go in certain places.
What do you think?
the grease is inexpensive, effective and easy to apply. i have no experience with the polyurethane sealant.
Wow, that chassis is about a week long, what are you building?
tanker truck.
Hey JC, what air compressor and air dryer technology do you use? Are you happy with it? I'm shopping for replacement. Cheers.
champion 2 stage compressor and snap on outlet mounted driers. they are ok. nothing special but ok.
Thank you sir!@@j.c.smithprojects
take a look at JNH classics fj40 episode 43 raptor liner kit
Build the strawberry bed! My lovely wife has me building chicken runs and a goat jungle gym!....lol
I now many have said keep up with honey/citrus for yourself,s prayer,s for health Peace
Can you just run that saw without the cover? Probably make a mess but it shouldn’t be (unsafe)
And try warming up the grease a bit too?
dont want to warm up the grease...that would make a thinner coat. i wanted a real good heavy goat.

im trying to save money everywhere we can but not sacrifice on the quality of the build.
“ oh it’s special alright “…….lmao
did your weld melt the two frames together?
no. since i was doing a straight vertical weld, i did not want all that heat in a vertical line on the main frame.
Oh, ok, I just wasn't sure if it was burning right through or not. Thanks.
You should build a small sand blaster box for your wife to use. Be a lot easier cleaning all that small stuff.
as long as it takes me to build things, it would be done when we retire. i better just buy one.
Do you ever think that one day a stainless steel frame may be a possibility
i doubt it.
Why not sandblast?
dont have a sand blaster. owner doesnt have any money to throw at it. i will do the best i can with what i have.
JC your life would be so much easier if you moved south a thousand miles 😂 great video
it most definitely would....it would also be easier if i didnt work on my friends' trucks!!
I am NOT wondering what takes so long …. You can see - if you it done right it involves a fair share of work & time
little by little....now that all the rust repair is done, it should start to go faster.
Wassup
Your wife is cool
Your wife is a real treasure, if she asks for a strawberry bed, you answer how big? ❤
i asked her how many. does that count?
Every time your sweet, well qualified wife says "HTP", they sell a dozen units.
add 4 more feet maybe 6 ft.
i dont just make it up as i go along. there is an upfit that has to have enough frame.
You better check your underwear and socks for mag drill shavings. 🤣🤣
Love your videos and tell the Miss’s happy birthday
miss a spot
nope.
5308 pounds my guess
Come on JC - at least buy mrs jc a sand blasting cabinet…. And retire the needle scaler
you cant retire a needle scaler in the rust belt.....
Absolutely just over in western pa know all about being a rust belter
