when Mavuika asked "who are you?" that little girl is just a symbolism...of death. Thats one reason why she could not recognise her, and then "Hina" responds with "wating for the sunset"...Mavuika is the sunset (death waiting for her), and then Hina talks about a peaceful night "after the sunset" which is about the defeat of the Abyss after Mavuika's sacrifice, hence the last reminder "hey sis, you have a mission...remember" and thats when Mavuika remembers what her journey was all about. If you notice when she is slumped on the bench, there is no life in her expression, but after know and being reminded of her mission, she also remembered about the people that have give all for this future, and thats how she regained her composure. Mavuika, at this point is not phased about deat, because this only means she can rejoin with the souls of her old friends and the past people.... ...But then comes along Traveler to re-edit everyone's plan haha, no Abyss plane, no Mavuika's plan, no Celestia plan (if they have any to begin with) no nobody's plan, its all about the traveler's plan lol.
I loved seeing the heroes from Mavuika's time! Too bad we haven't seen Sanhaj in any animation or cutscene yet. That's the Night-Wind hero who shares ancient name with Ororon, the Border Master who caused Mare Jivari. They talked about him a lot in the event but Sunset takes place after his and Tenoch's death. I can't recall if it's said explicitly or implied that Venti slept through the 500 years since him and Dvalin were affected by Durin's venom. He often takes these long naps on and off, waking up if there are moments when Mondstadt needs help (like when the aristocracy took over and of course the cataclysm.) So he's had his "stuck in time/space" times. There are also theories between the lore people that he might be trapped in a time loop or samsara because his Hello voice line is sussy, but that's not canon... at least not yet... Venti's so weird and his connection with Istaroth makes for a lot of crazy theories until we get his full lore.
