    Nobody else compares to her. Who else has put out great albums for 20 years? Not just good, but great. Rid Of Me, To Bring You My Love, Is This Desire?, Stories From The City, Let England Shake are all masterpieces. Without a doubt the best artist of the last 20 years.

    Great lady, a song that makes you want to cry. Wars, what did they ever do for mankind, just more innocents to thier graves. Collateral damage, a euphemism for mass murder & who ever thought that up cant have experienced it! Nice one PJ we need more like you.

    I don't think anyone in the world, not even PJ Harvey herself quite understand just how much 3:20 (2:46 on LP version) onwards in this song moves me.
    It's like I'm frozen in time and someone gives me a lumbar puncture and injects my spine with raw emotion and tranquility. Please, why, why does it have to end...?
    Thanks PJ, I really owe you and anyone else in the world that makes Music that makes me feel this way.

    I've seen and done things I want to forget;
    I've seen soldiers fall like lumps of meat,
    Blown and shot out beyond belief.
    Arms and legs were in the trees.
    I've seen and done things I want to forget;
    coming from an unearthly place,
    Longing to see a woman's face,
    Instead of the words that gather pace,
    The words that maketh murder.
    These, these, these are the words-
    The words that maketh murder.
    These, these, these are the words-
    The words that maketh murder.
    These, these, these are the words-
    Murder...
    These, these, these are the words-
    The words that maketh murder.
    I've seen and done things I want to forget;
    I've seen a corporal whose nerves were shot
    Climbing behind the fierce, gone sun,
    I've seen flies swarming everyone,
    Soldiers fell like lumps of meat.
    These are the words, the words are these.
    death lingering, stunk,
    Flies swarming everyone,
    Over the whole summit peak,
    Flesh quivering in the heat.
    This was something else again.
    I fear it cannot be explained.
    The words that make, the words that make
    Murder.
    What if I take my problem to the United Nations?

I think the only music in my life of than Pink Floyd 1968-1975 that never gets old for me is PJ Harvey. And while their music is nothing alike, they both share a creative dynamic spirit which seems timeless.
