      I would find it crazy if Ooo DIDN'T change in 1000 years. Think about how much changed in the last century.
      Still sad to see what it changed too. But at some point disaster is bound to happen.
      However the city we see, and the machines outside are candy themed. Even the jets you can see outside have peppermint symbols on them. It seems that the candy people went to war, and so intense that war was that they have entered hibernation in a prizeball guardian. It is clear though that the candy people began utilizing human technology, perhaps because gingerbread isn't a fantastic building material.
      This leaves humanity's ultimate fate completely unknown, they could be extinct, they might've merged with the people of Ooo, they might've ascended to a higher plane of existence (perhaps a new mode of existence ey?), they could be completely fine in some other region (maybe even space). I would hazard a guess that the creators have not planned that out, but if they do bring humanity back they would have evacuated Ooo due to climate change and crumbling resources.

    I have tons of theroies like this. One of my favorite was i believe there was a reincarnation of Finn and Jake before the 1000 year gap in which we got introduced the other reincarnation of Finn and Jake, Beth and Shermy. Also I'd like to point out that every reincarnation of finn generally had a purpose, the comet being welcoming a new era, the butterfly leading bubble gum to her brother, Shoko who was supposed to be a knight of bubble gum but got in with the wrong crowd, Finn, who was there to make up for Shoko's lack of loyalty, and now Shermmy. a fun creature that wants to do pranks and look at the bright side where the world is at it's darkest. Maybe the reincarnation was something peaceful like when Finn was a glop of slime, but who knows.

    • @ed_Skynight
      @ed_Skynight Год назад +20

      That’s a great theory, hang on lemme add to it. Remember when New Death decided to stop the bridge for souls to be reincarnated? What if time passed a little more quicker for Finn and Jake when they both reincarnated and their next forms are in fact Shermy and Beth? And because their reincarnations took so long it resulted in the way Ooo is now? A barren colorless dystopian wasteland with no hero to watch over it.

    • @Pathseacher
      @Pathseacher Год назад +5

      @@ed_Skynight I don't believe so! You see in the episode when Magic man was sent to trail for his crimes but decided to turn into jake, and vise versa, King of Mars went to the dead world to pick up Jake and return his soul in exchange for his own. Now let's put this into perspective and theorize that dead world moves so much slower than the alive one. for one thing it would be very symbolic due to the show's nature being about life lessons, and two, the King of Mars and Death and a conversation for about 10 to 20 seconds during his time in the dead world, but in live world, it was an instant flash were king of mars died, Glob was in shock, and jake came back in seconds. now we have no idea how long it took for king of mars to enter the dead world, however we knew that only the valkyrie can move between dead worlds, and the only entrance is down the escalator and being questioned by the gate keeper, so even if King of Mars can move through the worlds freely, it's highly unlikely that he can instant teleport to them, even then he had a conversation with death which took some time. now theorizing this, we can also deduce the fact that if time moves slowly in the dead world, since the bridge between life and death had newly appeared, Finn and Jake are the first ones in life for reincarnation. Now remember! In Finn and Jake are dead, new death did not ban reincarnation all together, in fact when Finn and Jake went to go see life she was still reincarnating new souls, it only burnt out when death finally got access to the 50th. also keep in mind that the candle used to see life was almost burnt out, with how tiny it is. now we can keep in mind if this is relevant or not considering the candle is completely magical and the flame is also magical. normal flame would have the candle wax melt between 15 to 10 min, however they only had a 3 min conversation with life, so either the candle burns really fast, or magical peppermint butler flame is too hot considering you can melt wax instantly depending on the heat. that's besides the point. but! since we've confirmed that during the mushroom war Finn has been through 3 reincarnation, and that's with nothing going wrong and things are moving as a normal, time moves slower than normal in the dead world, and Finn and Jake are the first ones in line to get reincarnated. It can be confirmed that they went through a reincarnation much earlier! than expected.

    The only reason I doubt the theory about a second war between humans and rainicorns is because just like Finn probably acted as a bridge between humans and candy people I'm pretty sure that Jake and Lady Rainicorn probably would've done something if a situation like that occurred. I also don't think that Princess Bubblegum's first instinct would be to go to war with the rainicorns to protect the humans considering her friendship with Lady Rainicorn even if they tried to attack them but she also wouldn't overlook the humans being in danger considering her friendship with Finn.
    I'm a bit more inclined to believe that it may have something to do with the weather changing into something dangerous due to the change in the magnetic poles of the earth after so much time. potentially causing natural dissasters and forcing Princess Bubblegum to create the Prize ball Guardian to protect everyone and with Jake's dog/alien/rainicorn hybrid descendants being the only ones able to survive naturally in that environment. And we can see that there's always a gloomy weather with what seems to be almost permanent rainclouds, so I think it would make sense for something like that to happen.

    • @paxw37
      @paxw37  Год назад +26

      Yeah I see where you're coming from. I don't think Princess Bubblegum went to war with anybody. We see that the rainicorns have been at war in the past with the dogs, just those two parties. I think it was just a war between rainicorns and humans and Princess Bubblegum or any other third parties just couldn't do anything to avoid it. However, I do agree with you that the gloomy weather is a very obvious artistic choice, and the change in the magnetic poles could very well be possible.

    I actually came up with the beginning of a story detailing the cause of this. Basically, the whole reason Ooo is this bright and colorful place is because it's being sustained by the planet's irradiated core; it's irradiated because of the nuclear war. At a certain point, the core's half-life comes to an end and it stops being radioactive; in essence, Ooo's magical heart stops beating and it starts returning to the blasted wasteland it was immediately after the war.
    I also introduced plot points like PB and Marceline traveling to an orbital station to continuously monitor Ooo's degradation and Simon Petrikov transferring his consciousness to AllMO's system to create a fused intelligence called S.P.A.C.E.M.A.N. (Simon Petrikov AllMO Cerebrally Entangled Mental Amalgamation Network), but that's not really important here.

    • @zephyrprime
      @zephyrprime 10 месяцев назад

      Planet cores don't get irradiated during a nuclear war. Only the surface and atmosphere. Also, planets like earth already have natural radiation in their core due to uranium238 which is responsible for the molten core and the power source of the magnetic field.

    Something of note: in the intro, we see the former candy kingdom has a strange device blasting off from the ground on what looks like a tether or pole. That is a space elevator, a theoretical space launch device that would massively aid in the launching and returning of spaceships. We see it in use in the title, which means that at the very least there is at least automated space exploration happening. Maybe the inhabitants of Ooo found a better planet and are now living there instead?
    Also, with the future we see being 1000 years in the future, it’s also possible that the world is just running out of magic. I know the rules of magic within the canon of Adventure Time aren’t well known, but it would make sense that, if the current world is a result of the massive amount of magic set off by the Mushroom Bomb, it’s also possible that that magic would dissipate or be consumed over time.

Humans did what they always have and tried to take over Ooo, only for all the inhabitents of Ooo going against that. Finn was the only thing stopping this war but after his death this scenario becomes a possibility. Also gives a reason why the candy people seem to be hibernating. PB put them there so that they would not be hurt in the war. Also, this could explain the weird inner circle of normal candy kindom and the human technology around it. well since the dogs n' such kinda took over afterwards, this is just my guess
    its possible everything WAS "mostly okay" until finn had gone and died, but the many tensions between the seemingly innately magically powerful beings vs the technologically advanced humans(and probably magically restricted in many philosophical and psychological ways)
    so my thoughts are that, while the humans brought many real tangible technologies for everyone to use
    either it be because the inability or in-affinity the humans had to Ooo's crazier magic, the jake decedents(and probably other rainicorns too) would've likely just had only a slightly better understanding about the other side(and won out due to essentially attrition, which could even explain the desolateness of the future)
    it's just a theory, but I feel like it should be emphasized that even in the show, finn is rAther strange among HUMANS for having such great affinities to magical abilities and artifacts(I would attribute this to his direct isolation from human culture, but that is a little bit of the point already)
    no matter the lore explanation given between certain episodes, what we see is that "humans" in any timeline are considered the "normal not magical" equivalent of a multitude of things(including most especially the farm world timeline people, who I always thought were kinda weird)
    finn most often being the exception to this idea, the finn sword being I think the most egregious example, and even IN farm world he's the soul person to actually obtain access to and consistent use of the crown(heck even simon died in his use of it in this timeline)

    • @paxw37
      @paxw37  Год назад +14

      You actually bring up a pretty good point. The idea that humans brought technology but struggled to understand Ooo's magic makes a lot of sense, and it's interesting to think that Jake's descendants and other magical beings might have gained an advantage from this. And also how Finn is a unique exception to how humans normally are perceived. We even see Finn in the episode "The Chamber of Frozen Blades" learn how to use magic.

      @@paxw37 I think the rainacorn-dog-hybrids played a big part in the downfall. They grow up rapidly and all have incredibly powerfull magical abilities. They completely broke the Balance of power. (Imagin something like a tiny Island-nation turning into a global superpower over the course of 20 or so years, with nobody knowing who's side they are on) ontop of that, the entire Icekingdom basically got a new ruler. Something which hasn't happened in... well basically never...
      And we shouldn't forget that, when Iceking gave Gunther the crown to rebuild the icekingdom, he basically immediately used it to summon giant Snowserpants and when Gunther got his hands on the magic wishing eye, his first action was to take over EVERYTHING. So maybe not quite the guy who you want to put in charge of an entire kingdom. (We even see that the icekingdom is much bigger in the future, which might have also messed with the weather quite a lot. To top it all of, the humans have returned, bringing with them shiny new tech. The best way to end a civilisation is to give them some shiny new tech. Oh a machine that can turn black goo into power? Cool. Climat change? Never heared of it.
      AI that can solve all our problems for us? Yes please. What is a "Skynet"?
      Missiles that can win me a war at the press of a button. Of course I want some. Nuclear fallout? How bad could that possibly be?
      So now we have a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape, with things getting more and more tense as the rapidly changing climate forces nations to adapt, potentially causing conflicts over the limited resources of Ooo and everyone just got a pandoras box filled to the brimm with weapons of unimaginable massdeverstation.
      Btw something that definitely isn't to blame is the catalist comet, as it only hits earth every 1000 years and only 996 years have passed since the gum war.

      and she’s changed a lot since the past. She seems a lot less controlling & everything from what we can tell in obsidian and other areas. Plus, all of her growth throughout the series in general. She just isn’t this huge controlling dictator anymore. Plus, it really seems she’s just moved into a simpler life. After all of her progress, I don’t think she’d do something so bad that it would come to this. It would just like, erase all her growth. To be honest, peppermint could’ve caused more trouble than PB seeming as he’s likely in control of the candy kingdom now lol. Is it a wasteland though? Yeah it looks kind of bad between the Lemonhope returning episode and the Graybles, but we also know the final episode's framing device also takes place a thousand years in the future, the same time period. So we know between these, yes the Candy Kingdom is gone *with all its citizens living in a giant gumball guardian*, which the new duo tries to trip, we see forests and such as Sweet Pea as a giant in the future is walking through. Marceline's cave house is still there, and BMO is still around and going by the King of Ooo title. There is a dog kingdom, which looks to primarily be the descendants of Jake. Looks like his alien eldritch physiology had a permanent impact on the genetics of this line forming their own species. But honestly given the badlands of the main series OOo it seems most their world was already desolate and Bubblegum was the one mainly behind terraforming the badlands into new *food themed* kingdoms. But she stopped doing that. So let this mutated world follow its course, chances are like the dogs, the humans ended up intermarrying with mutants and a thousand years later there are no more humans because they mixed with more magical and weird species to make new species. Or some could have left Earth as we saw others did in the past like the humans who became the "elves" in deep space.

    tbh i always believed that when the humans came to Ooo that atleast a good portion of them merged with the candy kingdom (thus leading the kingdom to look more like a human civilization) and I think PB would be okay with that because of how much finn meant to her and to honor him(plus i dont think she would complain about all the tech they would be bringing), and Marceline would probs be down for that as well since they are dating and as seen in stakes Marceline used to be the only protector of the humans and is most likely the only reason they still exist at this point. I'm not 100% sure why the land of Ooo changed in the way it did tho, it could of been the catalyst comet but that appears every 1000 years and the events land of Ooo we see occurs 1000 years in the future which means comet would of impacted recently or is going to impact Ooo later that year. I'm not sure how quickly the comet can change the ecosystem of a planet tbh but i dont think its impossible given the power its suppose to have. It could be that the reason why the candy kingdom was abandoned was because of the comet and the fear of what the change could bring or it was for some other reason I dont think it could of been a war or anything involving the humans since they would of kept the kingdom if it was and they won. I think whatever occurred that made PB abandon the Candy kingdom and put em in guardian probably also caused the humans to flee, they could of gone back to the islands or maybe even space and decided to join the peeps on Mars who knows, hell some of the humans might of even stayed on the hub islands initially tbf. I wouldnt be surprise if they left Ooo again because it got to dangerous especially if Minerva is still around and how protective she is. It is so fittingly an depressingly Adventure Time to go out on this massive victory, only to end with this almost nihilistic greyness as the conclusion. It would also be fittingly Adventure Time to find out that everyone just took a trip to this world's equivalent of New Zealand, and we just showed up on a rainy day. It is weird to think that there are such distinctly empty pockets of the world, but AT's lore is so energetic and lively that I can't imagine how it could shift so drastically, even after a millenium. As an example, I highly doubt that Lumpy Space or the Nightosphere have gone dark.

Princess bubblegums kingdom giant prize gumball guardian seems to have put all the candy people in suspended animation and got taken by gunter. As much as I love theories about adventure time, ESPECIALLY about the future of Ooo, there are a ton of important things to keep in mind: 1: We don't have any evidence of any creature being extinct, as any creature we don't see on Ooo could be in space. 2: Shermy and Beth being reincarnations of Finn and Jake was directly confirmed by the creators. 3: Ooo is a continent, and at the end of the day, all we've really seen so far is one or two nations and the surrounding area, and the surrounding area being desolate isn't too weird.
    Most importantly, 4: Rainicorns and Dogs are at peace now, and dogs are at peace with humans. A war breaking out because the Rainicorns wanna eat humans would be like a war breaking out because the humans want to eat the candy people. In the world of adventure time, people are totally okay with living alongside edible creatures with very little issue, and things aren't gonna change just cause there are more of them.
    It seems more likely to me that there isn't anything significantly apocalyptic going on, and people just decided to leave Earth because they went "hold up a quick second. Why tf are we willingly living on a rock that gets hit by a huge comet every 1000 years when we have access to the whole solar system?", and like humans always do, they left to somewhere safer when things got crazy.

    It wouldn't suprise me if the ice thing ended up starting an ice age after the library turtle passed on, which resulted in PB making the mega guardian as a time capusle type thing to protect all her citizens (it probably even houses her) leaving the humans to fend for themselves. Jakes Children were probably fine for the most part, implementing human tech with their ability to rapidly reproduce (which explains the weird space varients, mass produced as expandable defence force), losing a few thousand over the years due to the ice age would be a loss they could handle. With humans being on the brink of extinction, they could not afford to lose a single human and most likely fled back to the island, leaving behind the new cities they have created. Finn and Jake most likely passed away long before this, which could easily explain her lack of helping humans in such dire times, she was more focused on protecting her own and without Finn, the humans weren't really her problem to deal with.

    Very Nice Video! I've always liked to think of theories about Adventure Time.

    Shermy looks kind of like the space bunnies maybe They finally got to Earth after BMO.

    yup, probably a catalyst comet. makes sense with a catalyst comet happening every 1k years, everything is destroyed and the candy kingdom is sheltering in that big gumball guardian lookin thing

      it does feel like a pretty pb move to reject the change the comet will bring if it means the death of her people
      possibly building the guardian as a way to keep them safe and also look for a new habitabal place for her subjects to live in
      patience did survive the previous comit by freezing herself (and it could have happened again since we see her still frozen in the intro)
      so it wouldn't be completely unbelievable that pb managed to build something that effectively does the same thing

    It cant have been a catalyst comet, they only hit earth once every 1000 years which means that it must have only hit a couple years before shermy and beth, i think what happened is what always happens to humanity, war, what if the candy people and humans had a war that resulted in a mushroom bomb type event
