BTW, am I the only one who's happy they made Young Jun a likeable character? I figured he was gonna be the "boss's asshole son" type character. But he's a great fighter, and loyal as hell to Ah Sahm. Also, his reaction to finding out Ah Sahm spoke English didn't even need subtitles, you wouldn't have to know the language to know what he was saying.
Jason Tobin is the perfect Young Jun -- that scene at saloon where he's feeling of sadness that he was born in America and never been to China, so he feels neither American (doesn't speak English/ isn't accepted as American) nor Chinese (never been to China). Saw Tobin's interview, he said was born in HK to British father, then grew up in Philippines, then back to HK, where he didn't learn to speak his native tongue Cantonese because he was brought up by his British dad. When he went to boarding school in England (where his father's from), he was bullied for being Chinese (even though he didn't even knew how to speak Chinese). He was really playing himself in that scene and spoke from the heart when he said he feels doesn't belong.

That's why Shannon Lee, Daughter of Bruce Lee,, is the executive producer of this series. The writers loves Bruce. Her and the writers doesn't want Ah Sahm to be a copy but they will pay tribute to Bruce and his fighting style when ever the story calls for it. Like episode 9 of S2 was called "Enter the Dragon". So u know that's a clear giveaway of an amazing tribute Ah Sahm summoned his inner Bruce Lee and went straight Beast mode
10/10: An outstanding masterpiece. This series needs a lot more attention. Hope Cinemax continues and promotes this series, the world should know how extraordinary this show really is.
Just watched season 1, definitely one of the best shows out there. Very entertaining, every character is interesting and the show makes you want to learn more about them, action packed, good humour, love the way they transition from Chinese to English. 10/10
the show is almost damn near perfect except the sex shit is wayyy to much which can be annoying. But the biggest downsides I think is the character stuff is kinda in your face. Not saying they have bad arc...but I wish there were better developed.

Season 2 gets even better. The writing is almost "unneccessarily" good for a "simple" martial arts show. Great character depts and story line, and the goddamn action of course, just can't get enough of it

What i really liked about this show was how chinese characters interact with each other how they always initiate a conversation in Cantonese but start speaking English after a couple of sentances, a transition for viewers' ease, in the beginning i was confused how they always say they can't speak English but talk to each other in English 😂.

for a guy who grew up watching Bruce Lee and all the 80's martial arts movies, this series is a blessing. These are the people who are keeping martial arts alive when it has almost become trash in the movies these days. Great story, action choreography, and editing.

I love how they didn't turn Ah Sahm into another Bruce Lee copy but every now and then he marvelously channels his inner Bruce.
They had to have those "moments". I mean, first episode, he beats those guys up in the brothel and just calmly sits on one of them.

What an amazing serie! Loved the absolutely badass fighting scenes and the brilliant story behind it! Definetely the one best series I've watched. The actors are 10/10!!!

Season 1 was a solid 8.5 imo. Season 2 was a 9.5 it cranked everything up. So good. We need a 3rd season!!

for a guy who grew up watching Bruce Lee and all the 80's martial arts movies, this series is a blessing. These are the people who are keeping martial arts alive when it has almost become trash in the movies these days. Great story, action choreography, and editing.

WHY THIS SHOW IS SO UNDERRATED???.. this is beyond me... there are some dumb ass shows which getting all these millions of hours watchtime, thousands of memes and videos.. and than there is this absoulte MASTERPIECE and only a limited amount people talking about it. Andrew Koji is amazingly perfect along with rest of the cast. CNIEMAX needs to market this show somehow PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS...
