We went through 5 months of this, but I can promise you it is well worth it! And don’t forget to enjoy the journey in between. You will learn and grow in ways you never thought of. A month is my limit. We are right now completely redoing our old house. When we purchased our new home. We found black mold. The inspector should of caught it. But we had to fix it. I’m glad! It’s really beautiful. We were able to put in what we wanted and I wouldn’t change it. So worth it!

I am a Master Electrician ... self-employed for 30+ years..... make sure your electrician bring future circuits to the attic/crawl space upstairs for future wiring. If/when you decide to remodel or add something to the upstairs, you will save time and aggravation of not having to repair walls/snake wiring later. Who knows, you may redo the bathroom upstairs and want a steam shower unit .
Oh, the open floor plan will be amazing! Since you're down to studs, are they building in any niches for your display pieces? All the prep work you've done to keep functioning thru the process should help with the sanity factor. So excited for you!

Make sure you use that plastic film to cover your bedroom. Got asthma from the dust. And probably cover any of your other areas like your working area. You want to clean the areas where you are going to be. Sanity last for awhile. When you are forced to live in a small area. Then you find ways to be away from home. My kids were small when we renovated our kitchen. I wish you well

On your lower level, now and then I caught glimpses of what looked like a small stained glass window - what is that please and I hope you'll keep it, it looked lovely.
In the DMV there's a place called Community Forklift that sells salvage from buildings and furniture. It's great that you were able to resell some of your house parts. Looking forward to more videos in this vein.
Not to the extent you have had ripped out but we had half our downstairs re-done last year. We started in 2020 and it took more than 6 months to complete. We had the kitchen, utilitity and downstairs loo all ripped out and re-configured. It created soooooo much dust and took sooooo long to complete. We had to scree (re-level) the floor as it was all and different heights. It was a nightmare. We were sooooo happy when it was completed. Since then we had the living room re-done this year. We had to rip out a stone wall, rip out the karate & have new carpet laid, had someone in to wallpaper 1 wall. Thankfully the living room renovation was quicker and easier than the kitchen.
I am glad to hear that the living room was a quick renovation! The first time this house was renovated (I grew up here and then purchased it from my parents two years ago) the kitchen took almost a YEAR. It was ridiculous.
@@ThePotterCollector ye. The kitchen was definitely the nightmare though as we didn’t have a proper kitchen installed over the Christmas period when we were doing the first renovation. We had to rest the over on a cabinet & use a camping 2 ring hob to cook with pans and a microwave in a different room + wash up in the bathroom. That’s with adults, a baby & a toddler. We were more than relived when it was done. Everyone had felt like tearing their hair out while we were waiting for it to be finished.

I also collect rocks, fossils, and crystals. I have them displayed in cabinets. I also collect legos. I'm looking to put them in display cases also. I'll be curious to see what display cases you pick out.

As someone who is renovating her house (by myself with the help of my dad and fiancé when they can) I absolutely love this vlog! I hope to see more! As someone who is renovating her house (by myself with the help of my dad and fiancé when they can) I absolutely love this vlog! I hope to see more! I’d really love to see your progress along with my own 😂 also I love decor channels so it’s like a two for one for me 😂
