Suzuka - lead singer. Wild. Crazy. Artistic. Powerful voice. Glasses Mizyu- lead singer. Weird. Goofy. Pure beautiful voice like a flower petal in a breeze. Bangs. Kanon - lead singer. Strong. Athletic. Stylish. Sultry voice. Long hair. Rin - lead singer. Cool. Hip hop dance and singing master. Shy. Always has a badass haircut. Currently half shaved.
All success to these girls!!! They are extremely fun to watch and listen to. Especially in days like ours, when it seems that there is no place to just be happy for the fun of it. They are great and I wish them worldwide success!
Atarashii Gakko No Leaders (New School Leaders) was formed in 2015 by Asobisystem. Mizyu (the one with two ponytails) had already worked at Asobisystem as she was a back up dancer to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Rin, Kanon and Suzuka joined her. They do all their own choreography and also create dances' here they actually cut out some of the more explicit "phallic" bits of the dance and introduced a mime of a flower opening with a surprised look. It seems that their agency gives them quite a bit of artistic freedom and they do side projects in dance, art, video and Rin DJs. Otona Blue (Adult Blues, blue is also associated with youth and immaturity in Japan and otonaburu means "acting like an adult") is about "teenage awakening" ie the awareness of desire in others and their own desire to grow up and experience adult emotions. AG wrote the lyrics themselves when they were younger and I think it's an honest expression of their feelings as they approached adulthood, which can make people uncomfortable. But AG never shy away from difficult subjects. Suzuka has the strongest voice and biggest personality and she's the natural lead in concert situations, but in smaller and quieter performances all the members can shine as each one has a good voice. Suzuka and Mizyu tend to take the lead in interviews...Mizyu is the oldest and worked with KPP so I think she has some seniority. Otona Blue is definitely an up beat song, but AG have some bitter angry songs too. Check out their latest "Suki Lie" and their earlier "Dokubana" (Poisonous Flower).
The technical term for the hair helicopter is “Mizyucopter”, this is pretty typical of the fun AG usually brings, so unpredictable and unique, check out Pineapple Kryptonite.
Thanks for the great reaction Wave! I was looking for a video for you to react to and I chose this one, then found out you've already done it. Suzuka, the lead singer, is crazy (in a very good way). She gives security fits in their live performances in the U.S., because she steps off stage onto the fence railing separating the crowd from the stage. Then grabs for someone's hand in the crowd to support her. While security goes into a panic, she jumps down into the crowd and plows her way to the back....lol Now as cute and lovable as she is, when you say "sexy", she is not the first thing that comes to mind....lol. Goofy, fun, awesome personality, and wildly entertaining for sure. But what I love about this song, is the lyrics and how they kind of poke fun at "sexy". While Chanel West Coast (of "Ridiculousness"), tries SO HARD to be sexy, and doesn't get why her career hasn't exploded, gets 30-40K views for a video in 8 months, these young ladies nailed down a whopping 55 Mil with this video! Takes notes Chanel! Love these girls! They were a group 7 years before "Avantgardey" whom I also love. So, although "Avantgardey has a lot of original content and is very unique. There are several things from "Ataragashi Gakko" that seemed to have inspired them. The dance they do here is or was trending also....lol Suzuka reminds me a bit of Angie.
Someone asks in the movie, "What does Otona Blue mean?" On one hand, Otona Blue expresses worries and anxiety to be an adult. The other meaning is 'to pretend to be mature' (exact translation is 'pretend to be an adult'), Otonaburu. Since we don't have a distinction between 'r' sound and 'l' sound in Japanese, they sound the same, which allows the title to have dual meanings. My personal interpretation is that the girls have contradictory feelings; while they are eager to be mature women, they also feel hesitent to be an adult at the same time.
Suzuka is one of a kind. They broke the mold after they made her. 😂 They just completed a tour of 3 shows in Japan. Here's a link to the one on 4/30. ruclips.net/video/tMuxifxmDmw/видео.html At the end they surprise announce a show for later in the year at their biggest venue ever, 10k capacity, Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. They are taking off like a rocket in Japan and internationally. They'll also appear at HITC NY festival.
Great reaction, Wave! The names are Suzuka, Kanon, Rin and Mizyu. They have many fun videos. Here's one: "Pineapple Kryptonite" ruclips.net/video/YD8VNZwN1mM/видео.html
"Atarashii Gakko" will be performing at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, N.Y. on Sunday, May 21 as part of the "Heads in the Clouds" music & arts festival.
I don't know if this is the best First Take video ever, but definitely is the most fun and enjoyable without a doubt. AG! are way too charming

Unique, talented, fearless.. I'm having trouble deciding on an adjective here to describe them. I love them for reasons that I can't even describe! 🙂
I think you nailed it
Japan just has it going on.

The funniest & talented idol group in Japan❤☺
watch their other songs!! because every song is different.. they do many genres.. including rock and jazz
Suzuka in Hiroshima (Su-metal) and Suzuka in Osaka (new school). Japan only one
Ha! I couldn't remember their name. I stumbled across them one time, and I was really taken with their goofy charisma. What a silly bunch of kids.
Tips. SU-METAL is Suzuka too.
And Alan did not like this..wtf..it is pure joy, and I am a metalhead.

U should listen their song Koi Geba if you like rock 💯
What do you mean her name Suzuka to?
the lead singer of the girlband "Babymetal" is also named Suzuka :)
miku kobato join atarashi gakko
The beginning of this song is just like MC Hammer
"U Can't Touch This"
MCハマーの"U Can't Touch This"にそっくりやん
Don't you think so?
