I've had graves disease since 2016, went into remission in 2021, and got pregnant exactly a year later. I'm 17 weeks now and just found out the graves is back. I knew it was a possibility but still disappointing to hear. Watching your videos has given me so much peace. Seeing how calm you've been through the whole thing and hearing that your baby girl is healthy has inspired me. Thank you for sharing your story!

    Hi guys. Lovely day.
I saw this here on RUclips and want to ask you. How's your baby doing? I don't know if you have furthemore details on your other videos, but I just want to ask you directly.
I'm still single but I'm planning to have a baby. I'm already 27 and I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism when I was 24. I want to get ideas from you regarding this disease, the pregnancy, and most importantly, the baby.
I wish you could respond. I badly needed your views. Thank you so much for sharing your story. God bless.

You said you didn't take any medication, may I ask if your lab test changes suddenly? Like every month? Or do you have symptoms during pregnancy?
Thank you for sharing. I need your view. I am hyperthyroid too. God bless.

Hi! I have hyperthyroidism and currently 9 weeks pregnant. Lab test was normal when i got pregnant. Im really scared about this pregnancy. My doctors made made me feel like this is life threatening. Im not on medication bec. Im allergic to ptu and i can't take tapazole yet. They will check my thyroid level next month and said that if its too high i will be referred to an endo. We don't have endo near our area. So this made me nervous. Not even sure if baby is normal, if hope theres no defects. Congrats on your new baby!

Hi Ruby! Thank you and thanks for checking out our channel. If your lab tests were normal then that's a great sign! I've heard of some people getting pregnant and then going into remission, hopefully that's your case! Hyperthyroidism can cause your body (and unborn child) some serious problems if it's not treated properly and your levels aren't normal. We will say a prayer that you and your baby remain healthy through out your pregnancy and after! Please keep us posted with how you're doing! We love hearing from folks :)

+KERICK 411 thanks for the prayers. I have to go to an endo because my hyper is back. I have no problem taking tapazole. Im just afraid what it can do to my baby. Ive heard a lot that its not ok for the baby bec the baby can have birth defects.

From what we have heard and understand, it can only cause birth defects if too much is taken in the first trimester. After hitting the 2nd trimester (14 weeks), Tapazole is considered safe as long as the dosage is not extremely high (it could cause the baby's thyroid to slow down if the mother is taking a high dosage). Keri remained on Tapazole (Methimazole) through out her pregnancy after hitting the 2nd trimester. Both the Endo and OBGYN monitored her levels closely, her levels remained slightly hyper throughout her pregnancy. Our little girl is perfectly healthy but everyone and every pregnancy is different. We are still praying for you and your baby! Please keep us posted with how things are going! :)
