  • Bernardelli Vest Pocket .25 Semi-Automatic Pistol review including history, pros and cons. Overview of one of the smallest semi-automatic pistols ever made. The Bernardelli Vest Pocket .25 has a reputation for being well-made, reliable and surprisingly accurate. The Italian- made Bernardelli Vest Pocket .25 began production after World War II until it was replaced in 1968 by the Bernardelli Model 68 which was almost identical to the Vest Pocket. V. Bernardelli Company went out of business in 1997. Includes range activity and a demonstration of disassembly and reassembly.

    nice article. i paid 35 dollars for mine with the box and all the goodies back in 1976. she shoots very well.

      Sounds about right. $35 dollars in 1976 would be about $185 today. Thanks for the feedback. Always appreciated. And thanks for watching. If you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on RUclips.

      @@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 Still seems like $185 would be a good deal. They're nice little guns. I think that most people are charging around $300 for them... but there are many selling them for around $500. I just don't see how that could be justified though. They're very simple, small firearms and I'm sure they don't cost a lot to produce compared to other guns.

    • @mickmacstabletopreviews8466
      @mickmacstabletopreviews8466  Год назад +1

      Good point. Comparing to what I can get for the same $s is exactly how I look at these guns. Can't help it. $500 would simply be outrageous. You could get a nice surplus Walther PP for that or even a used Seecamp! Absolute no brainer. To me, the Bernardelli is basically a novelty and there's only so much I'm willing to fork out for a novelty. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching. I hear ya. I never buy any gun unless I know how it works (precisely). I guess these were made mostly in .25acp, but they also have .22 short and .22 long. I just googled in a minute ago and it said that .22 short actually has more power than .22 long... and .22lr is about twice as powerful as both of them. If they make them in .25acp, then they could probably make them in 22lr also... but for some reason they didn't. (.22lr might be too long maybe).

    Awesome little 25. I have a Raven Arms MP25 but at some point would like to get a quality little 25ACP. My Raven is accurate but not especially reliable 😁. I also like the history on some of the older guns like my CZ VZ50 that has a police acceptance mark of 1951. Thanks for the video and have a great weekend.

    Wow I also didn't see when you disassembled yours the bolt stop and button stayed in place. Mine come out everytime although now it's impossible for me to put the gun backtogether by hand like I used to do. Because of the replacement button I have to use a rubber mallet and give a tap to the back of the gun to seat it so the button will pop out

    I'm thinking about getting replacement grips for mine since I want to use it as a bug gun.
    My left grip has a small crack where the screw is at least as long as I can remember and even after using blue lock time twice they always work themselves loose.

  • @Mibit911

    Imo the gun just has inherent flaws which is the fact the slide is held on by a small claw on the bolt stop which holds the whole gun together

    Hard to believe a company could produce such a nice gun and go out of business. I'm glad that Sarsilmaz is producing them though. I really believe that guns like this are important and that many people, especially women would start carrying if they owned guns like these and the Baby Browning. It's far better for people to carry something like this every single day than to carry a large 9mm (or larger) firearm that they leave at home half the time, because it's just too big and uncomfortable to carry. I'm a big fan of most of the small .380's that people carry Like the LCP's, the P3AT, Spectrum, etc... but they're all noticeably larger than these. Some of them do have the benefit of being lighter in weight though and/or at-least lighter for their size. (like the P3AT is about an ounce lighter and the P-32 is 3oz lighter). Their polymer grips really reduce their weight by a lot and being thinner also helps too (I think they are anyways).

      Certainly import restrictions had a lot to do with why these companies stopped producing these guns or went out of business. I agree with much of what you say about carrying these little firearms and as I've said many times in my reviews, the more discrete, the more likely it'll actually be carried. At a minimum, I have my Seecamp 32 on me as regular as carrying my wallet. As you rightly point out, a new Kel Tec P32, at only about $250 today, should logically fulfill this need fairly well. But unfortunately, I think people are talked into bigger guns they won't really carry.

      @@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 Hard to believe they didn't move a factory to the US like a lot of other companies did. I know Sarsilmaz was planning on selling the P6, but then suddenly gave up on it for some reason. I don't think they ever sold any of them at all and I have no idea why. In today's market with so many new gun owners, these things would sell like crazy. I never knew if before, but just the other day I found out that two other companies produced guns that look exactly like these, and I think they were also the same size and functioned the same. Can't believe I've never seen any of them before (and I think they were US companied too). Would love to see someone start producing them again. They're one of my favorite handgun models ever and I think they would be very popular. When I show both gun owners and non-gun owners the smaller guns like these, I always hear people say "If I had one of these I would start carrying a firearm"... or "if I had one of these, I would carry every single day". (I think Iver Johnson was one company that made them and "Firearms International" was another company. I'd really love to find parts and/or a parts kit for them, but I've never actually seen them anywhere.)

    Any idea how the magazine safety works? Does it also act as the trigger bar spring? (to push the trigger bar up, so it can reset after each shot).

    • @mickmacstabletopreviews8466

      @@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 Yeah, never seen another gun with one like it. It's just a kind of diamond shaped piece of steel that pivots on a pin and has a tiny wire spring sticking out of it. I know the the magazine goes in it pushes it up and pivots the magazine safety, but that's about it. It's a simple, but weird design and I'm not sure how it works. Never seen the trigger or magazine safety work with the grip off.

    I agree, these mouse guns is excellent for self defence, the bigger guns is to big to carry every day,if i havent had my small mauser 6.35 with me a few years back when dogs attacked me ,i would certainly be a dead man today, and i dont know of anybody who would like to be shot at with one, so keep on carry them, small enough for being not a nuisence every day but comes in handy when dogs or a robber want to take chances
