Appreciate this bro I been tryin to learn how to do this stuff because I recently got a 22 rt charger and what you showed in the vid ireally works ! I didn't realize downshifting puts you in the power band. A lot of guys I see losing in these rts dont use the downshifting to their advantage that's why I feel like people call them slow but my 5.7 be pullin. I get thumbs up daily in traffic when people try to run me and people be asking me what I have under the hood hahaha. #mopar
Might sound like a stupid question but I'll ask anyway....once you hold the left paddle shifter and it drops you to the best gear, you just basically stomp it correct? Meaning you allow the transmission to do the shifting? No need to upshift yourself.
So all you have to do is down shift to the lowest gear then when you step on the gas the gears would change by themselves and when you are done with the race or whatever you hold the right paddle to put it back to normal?
I have a video in my shorts using this method. Def is the way to do it. I did notice it holds the gears out longer than simply getting down to speed without using the paddles. I can get to 140 and still be in only 6th or 7th
I have a 2021 charger scat I always drive in sport mode I tried this once and it sounded like it wasn’t going to shift up so I put it back in does it automatically shift up I don’t wanna blow my transmission all my settings are in sport mode what should I have it in So how does it work I hold the left paddle for two seconds it downshift then I smashed the gas but it sounds like it’s not going to upshift I get nervous and I put it back in gear so what am I doing wrong 😑
Widebody scat pack plum crazy purple Challenger in the house. Dammmm too bad I live far from you we would make some noise. Nice video thanks for the info.
Ok so I’m doing a 40 roll, I hold the shifter (left) for 2 sec, then floor it and then shift back up w/ the right shifter? Do I shift back up right after flooring it or how long should I wait before I shift back up?
From a roll, when you get to 40 mph and you’re ready to go, do you just straight up floor it? Or should you not floor it right away? Thanks for the vid!
no but if you have drag radials launch at 1500 hold the brake down then gas it til the revs hit 1500 have the traction on always unless your on the drag strip with 17’ rims on , it you have street tires u dont need to be drag racing lol your just gonna spin unless you just roll on slowly
hold the down shift paddle and it will downshift as far as the car can possibly go you will hear it start revving high then gas it no need to hit the right paddle until your done accelerating it will shift by itself in the higher rev ranges giving you more hp and tq
@@slimv3.162 no...what he means is that by holding the left paddle down for two seconds, it will downshift to the optimal gear for the speed you are currently driving. It will put you in the best power band for acceleration...and by leaving it in drive you don't have to manually shift to the next gear, the car will do it for you. If you have track mode selected for your transmission in your custom mode, the shifts will be quicker and at a slightly higher rpm. I always try to be in custom mode whenever I think I'm gonna have a run with someone.
Ghern Garage drag : track trans street everything else for weight transfer... 40 track trans everything else whatever is comfortable for you.. hold the left paddle shifter down for 2 seconds so i can down shift to the lowest gear posssible before the race if you only tap it once it wont be in the best gear... the car will still shift as long as the gear selector is in drive ... do the same thing with the right paddle to exit this mode
On the street, I use Custom mode with the transmission in Track and the Traction control in Street. This helps keep wheel spin down from low speeds and you get a few more rpm's in each gear with quicker gear shifts also. Has worked well for me. My scat charger has pulled two challenger scat 392's from a roll.
@@jkoolii yep so far everything is the same as the srt charger but that auto upshift feature don't seems to work here what do work is punch the gas pedal twice seem to drop it lowest gear at my current speed but I feel it won't be as reliable as holding downshift paddle and punching it
Matthew Mckay you have to leave the car in drive dont put it in manual then hold the left paddle 2 seconds to downshift to the lowest gears press it once to just down shift 1 gear
When I’m on 5th or 4th gear in manual mode on my 14 300c, I floor it and it automatically downshifts, I just up shift. These cars a fuckin dope tho, wish I had an 8-speed
Leo: yes, the 305s extra grip gets the widebody off the line a little easier...the widebody adds drag at high speeds but the effects is way in the triple digits to the point it don't matter...if you don't go widebody go 19 to take advantage of larger discounts...or else get that 2020 widebody...the stance with the 305s is amazing....
JG Scatpack392 that’s what Thinking just go widebody but I know I can get a discount on the 19 but How is it street wise is it slow would I be taking a hit on the head if I’m not going the track ?
@@leolion4232 no its quick overall, but be mindful that the newer mustangs and newer Camaros are quicker on a roll in stock forms as they are lighter, but down low the Chargers/Challengers pull.. For my time, my 0 to 60 was 4.2 and my quarter was 12.3 so the wide body should cut maybe a 10th off...the main issues with the Chargers/Challengers is really the weight, but they still hold there own against the majority of other cars in the price range stock wise...you really can't go wrong with either but even now on 2020s they got the power dollars campaign going on....swing for the widebody if you comfortable with it, if not a 19 is fine

Double tap ? So tap one to rev the rpms then tap the gas again ? you’re gonna fuck up the transmission doing that.

That has Challenger or Charger.

You can also put the shifter in Manuel mode and do this. Just shift it back to drive as soon as you throttle
