    Jim seemed to have this internal sense about things. That he knew his time was coming to an end. Say what you want, but that last year with him was special. The way he knew to apologize to Jake demonstrated that he had, in fact, been thinking these things through. the way he made up with so many people in such a short time-span. Warrior HAD to drop quite a bit of pride to do that.

      100% agreed. I actually just watched the Warrior documentary on A&E Biographies. He was a really complex guy and he held a ton of bitterness...but allowing himself to let all that go, i think that really freed him. So sad that he died after he finally found peace, but thank goodness that he found peace though

    I grew up in the 60s and must say some of The most powerful words are "I was wrong."; "I don't know." and "I am sorry." oft saw Jake Roberts on NWA for JCP and Ultimate Warrior was a huge star in WWF. The fame and steroids got to him.

    This is great to hear. There's nothing better than two grown men maturing and realising life is too short for bitterness. Jake and Warrior should both be proud of burying the hatchet. It's just a shame we never got a podcast episode with Warrior and on The Snake Pit.

    I was hoping for Jake vs Warrior at Summerslam and always wondered if Warrior was supposed to be the team Captain instead of Sid at Survivor Series 1991. Solid 4 month buildup in the feud, just never got the big ending match.

    When we are young ,we think we have all the answers.
    But as we age ,we slowly realize something....
    Wait a minute.....
    What are all the questions?
    Then and only then ,do we truly gain wisdom.......
    Glad to see that Warrior finally realized what he had done and tried to make amends.
    And kudos to Jake Roberts.His life hasn't been easy ,but he's used his head ,heart and mind to not only put his past behind him .And along the way ,became a bit wiser.

    I actually really like this podcast better than the one He did with DDP. Nothing against DDP He's a busy guy and doing Gods work half the time. However I still have a hard time respecting The Warrior. He was a Flash in the pan but Good for Jake for forgiving Him in the end. Jake Rules and I'm so glad He's still here telling us these stories.

    • @cutekanjii
      @cutekanjii Год назад +1

      Yeah it is deffinitely better without DDP's overbearing ,corse & uncouth personality. Does he do some good things for people? Yeah i'm sure he does! But how much of it is a gimmick to gain adulation and get attention for himself? I really don't know and don't want to be judgemental regarding him as i could be totaly wrong but he just rubs me the wrong way whenever i hear him talk.
      As for Warrior that's another question mark there. He did & said a lot if shitty things and then did all the apologies etc at the hall lf fame but had he not died perhaps he'd have eventualy went back to the unattractive manner & the rather nasty things he said about people.

  • @dougvanminnen7537

    I strongly believe that Jim/Warrior knew something regarding his health that nobody knew except his wife.(IE his heart health) And he knew that his days where vastly numbered so he wanted to take every opportunity to make things right with those he screwed over and/or pissed off especially in the WWE. He even made piece with Hogan when Hogan approached him . Jake Roberts was one of those people that the Warrior really wanted to make things right with. Glad that things worked out the way it did with him and Jake. Then when the Warrior cut that promo on Raw, holy crap I knew something was up with him when I heard his speech. So when I heard about his death the following day I was surprised that it was so soon after but I wasn't shocked if that makes sense.

    • @thomasmuller1425
      @thomasmuller1425 2 месяца назад +1

      Now that I think about it like that, it does in a way make sense. I remember watching Ultimate Warrior walking down to the ring on the Raw after WrestleMania 30 & he looked he was sweating. After cutting that promo, he was having a very hard time taking off that Warrior mask. At that point, I just thought it was because he was a little out of shape & he was obviously way past his prime at that point. But to see the news that Warrior had collapsed in a parking lot & died from a heart attack that very night, to say that I was shocked would be putting it very lightly. But after you put it like that, I think it's slowly starting to make sense. All & all, I'm just very glad that he got to make amends with Jake Roberts, Vince McMahon, & Hulk Hogan. More importantly, he was able to connect with his warriors one more time. At the end of the day, I don't care who comes & goes, nobody will have that same energy as The Ultimate Warrior.

    Wanting to fight and someone getting the better of you are not mutually exclusive. Besides, if you are mad enough, its not impossible to take out somebody you never should have been able to. Lots of people truly believe they can take someone they never could. Its called bravado. Even if you accept the idea that Warrior, even in his state of health, could have whooped Jake, that does not even insinuate he is lying here.

      I can't imagine Warrior apologizing. I respect Jake for his legacy and as a brilliant wrestler, but he was one of his haters for many years. Assuming this story is false, he had to find a way to reconcile his differences by showing empathy, but also justifying the negativity and criticism he threw in Warrior's direction. He wasn't the only one. The industry turned on Warrior.
