Y know, this video made me realize how much sonic R feels similar to Mario Golf in N64. Let me explain. I always felt mario golf 64 always had this chill, cozy and colorful vibe to it. Specially the unlockables gave so much charm to the game made it feel so alive. I feel if Sonic R was given more time and added this type of content like more unlockable characters like the chaotix, who had more colorful and smooth animations, and even more unique maps. Maybe it would've had a huger impact.

Isn't it amazing what Sonic R could have given us if it had more development time? (I do kind of understand why it was rushed, though; Sega was trying in vain to keep the Saturn alive to compete with the PlayStation 1 and the Nintendo 64, and the Saturn had a disastrous launch that alienated developers, retailers, and customers.)
Yeah, they were basically rushing out Sonic games at that point in the Saturn’s life and so all of the titles released had pretty short development time. It’s unfortunate because Sonic R could’ve been remembered as a much better game if it had more characters and stages, if you ask me!
Unfortunately that’s not an option! I definitely agree though and hopefully modding for the PC version of Sonic R comes far enough some day that we can have something like this for the real game!

He’s an admin/tester exclusive character, meaning the creator of the game decided that only people who helped with the game should have them available! Personally I think those skins are cool and should be accessible to everyone but you have to respect their choice regardless! Hope that makes sense
