11:32 I think it’s cause it’s very broken, a character like Sonic is more based on speed so u can’t get height or other things like that very easy to shields assist you in that. Giving a character like knuckles the fire shield, applied with his momentum glide is op, and something like the electricity shield and knacks power shot is essentially a triple jump which is also op. Sonic is the only one who deserves to interact with these shields (asides from the leaf shield) because they assist him in things he can’t already do In a way which is balanced (since Sonic rlly just runs, and can’t gain a lot of height or anything like that)

Just a bit of a correction, the story of Sonic Galactic actually takes place after Sonic Triple Trouble, as the Hard Boiled Heavies are not present because this game takes place before Sonic Mania & (I think) Superstars.
@@shaulov10 Not to mention that the reason why Fang is playable is because he has some beef with Eggman after he left him at the Atomic Destroyer. ...Still wondering how Eggman convinced him to help out at the North Star Islands after the events on Illusion Island (the setting of Sonic Galactic).
Amazing! I recall seeing this game before and it was still in development. The spin dash on the wall to cilmb and jump off is such an ingenius move even I didn't think of it! Like it's an natural progress of Sonic's moveset and I WISHED it was included in official Sonic games. And the Knuckles's keeping his momentum into a glide I didn't realize he didn't do that before and it feels makes him player better. I agree. Tails and Nack are great too and Tunnel is such a cool new fan character and his gameplay is great. Funny you mentioned it being like an official game when it's made by fans when Sonic Mania is made by a TEAM of FANS of Sonic that SEGA/Sonic Team hired. I'm going to have to download this game when I have the chance.
Happy New Year! I can't wait until you reach 10k subs! (It is the 4th day of January, but it's still a new year) Also, I'm gonna check this game out now since you say it's better than Mania. That's quite the praise!

I really enjoy watching your videos man!! And same thoughts on sonic galactic, it’s a breathe of fresh air while keeping what classic sonic fans like. Also if i could talk to you about something I’d appreciate it.
one thing they could do to make the walldash even better is make it so you're able to wall dash again if there is another wall near to where you're wall dashing essentially allowing sonic to wall jump imagine how many opportunities you could have with that
While I had seen a trailer for Galactic before the latest demo, I had otherwise not played it myself, so I was very surprised at the quality on display. The spritework is phenomonal, the levels have some really neat gimmicks and design, the characters are a lot of fun (shoutouts to Tunnel and my fondness for him having quickly blossomed) and there's just so much sauce to be had! I do hope the lenght of Coral Garden Act 1 gets nerfed and that the special stages get some polish to their performance (also maybe some more indicators as to what you need to do and what's happening [I eventually pieced enough together to beat the one special stage in the demo, but I think it'd still be nice]), much like you said. Also not crazy about the bosses, but I agree they're miles better than what Superstars had.
@@shaulov10 I still like CG Act 1, I just think its length kinda sticks out amongst the other levels, and for me at least, that feels especially jarring as an early-game stage. Granted, I tend to like to explore in classic Sonic stages, even when there's time over penalties (which this game doesn't have thankfully), so that doesn't help lol
Imma be honest, I thought that this was just going to be another classic sonic game. Don't get me wrong, it's really good. But so is nearly every other one, fan or official. But Luminocity Zone? That ending was phenomenal. I rarely ever like Sonic bosses, but that guitar one was so good. The Jonny-esqe rival race was fun, and the sprite work peaked here. Here's my updated list of favorite classic games: Superstars, Mania, Fallen Star, 2, and the latest addition, Galactic (sorry 3&K). In no particular order btw, they're all too similar for to pick a favourite.

Your Knuckles rant reminds me of my favorite mod for superstars, which adds insta shielding to Sonic, curling up during flight for Tails, and lets Knuckles cancel his landing animation into a spindash. Im not sure if it makes his glide effected by momentum or if it was like that in the base game, but tweaking Knuckles in that way made him such a blast to play as for me. Its surprising how restricted Knuckles felt in the classics now that I've seen versions of him that handle so well.
in the crowd, there's also the Genesis Unit from Mega Man: The Wily Wars. The game is a Sega exclusive, so that makes sense, but it's something Sega probably wouldn't reference

How Knuckles chatoix should be, with the added option of both players pairing rings. Certain levels should be made to show why its necessary to pair or unpair.
1) Are Sonic Legends and Triple Trouble 16 Bit also fangames with good level design in your opinion (and also Mania even if it's only 4th in your official 2D game ranking)? (Though as for CD going above Mania, I do think the Mania level design owns the CD level design in both Stardust Speedway and Metallic Madness, basically superannuating the last third of CD, which that alone puts Mania higher than CD on my list, but CD does have more exploration.) 2) Do you still love Shadow Generations (and is Kingdom Valley the best level still)?
What are some of your other favorite 2D fangames (anything with at least a two-zone demo)? I like Triple Trouble 16 Bit for sure and haven't tried the demos of Overture or Legands but they look cool, definitely a really strong art direction. Megamix Mania looks cool, as well. Fallen Star was great looking but I felt its level design lacked much depth; a lot of holding right, limited platforming, and even a dearth of Badniks in spots. Nothing close to Mania level design.
One thing I love Coral Garden Act 1 does is that it's an entirely underwater level, but it has a great gimmick where you gain bubbles on the go which prevent you from drowning, they pop in a few seconds but they appear really often and it makes it so that you're not gonna be anywhere near drowning if you're good enough, all while keeping your flow. Annnnd tbh the level overstayed its welcome and was way too long, so that's something. I enjoyed my time with this game. This must be one of the most impressive 2d Sonic fan games. I was not a huge fan of the level design, but the spritework and artstyle are enough to try out this game. I'd still prefer playing Time Twisted and USB, but hey, at least this isn't mid unlike Fallen Star.
