My CEO gives me a hand written card for every Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday, and of course my work anniversary.
It is the biggest thing in the world? No, but even though it's a "Small" thing I know he's doing with everybody, so that's a few hundred cards he's signing every year, and it's a "Small" thing that I've never received anywhere else.
He is an old-school gentleman who smiles at all of us, makes sure to say good morning when passing us in the hall, knows all of our names, it always polite and well mannered, etc.
Really just a great guy to work for.
I've worked at my current company longer than I've worked any other job. His attitude of treating people really permeated through the company, and I hope to follow his example some day while leading a company of my own.
It sounds like you have an incredible boss. Thanks for sharing.
