They really are the kings of progressive metal.
Its the composition, the structure, each note, each timing, each instrument, blending, supporting, introducing each other.
And then there is that bass guitar, like the Northern Star, shining madly regardless of the time of night.
@@user-ij7ge5gb8c I love the stark contrast of the bass in this band, another other band everyone's talking about the guitarist or singer. but for with band, its all about dat bass!
Finally they're back! My favorite Australian band and one of the top 5 bands of all time. Thank you Birb for making this video:)
Oh hell yeah! I’ve been WAITING for more NeO! Their sound is so distinct. I’d have known this was them as soon as I heard the bass line.
Funny enough this is also the first track with Martino's writing, so it's a definite sign that they didn't loose with the departure of Cygnus. Martino incorporated his own style but we can still hear it's NeO.
Can't go wrong with this band. My favourite part was from 10:13 onward. So entrancing.
Cant agree more
Martino's bass is so under appreciated.
I'm in love with the production. It's so clear. Can someone tell tell me what's different? With headphones I can literally hear every instrument even during the biggest parts. Why can't everyone do that?
shit i can hear it with a decent sound system that i bought for my computer like 15 years ago. People only hear what they want to hear these days, and it's sad.
People complain about the drums being too loud
It sounds really clear to me as well, even with my shitty old Corsair headset. Beautifully mixed, got really high expectations for the rest of the album.
Try with InEarMonitors :D bliss
I think people on their phones/using their speakers have problems with the mixing because I think the bass on a certain section would be on one side of their headphone and the guitars were on the other side of their headphones
idk I havent listened to this with my headphones yet but thats the most reasonable thing I can think of
5 years to make the Second Album: Masterpiece
5 years to make the third Album: Masterpiece
5 years to make the fourth Album: Masterpiece
This is nuts! making masterpieces like Clockwork is NUTS!!!
ok this is kinda random but the last "5 years" has a capital Y and the rest don't, can you PLEASE make it consistent?
@@thatguyhanzo3468 there you go
Isn't it 2 years between first and second album? There's a 2 year gap between Portal of I and Citadel
@@shadowedlvnar1635 yep, and 3 years between citadel and urn
@@le4chehenry324 Oh no! Are they pulling a Tool on us and dropping the next album in 8 years?!
The songs that this band creates are nothing short of legendary
This is a masterpiece. Absolutely incredible!
Easily one of the best returns/one of the best songs of the year. Also, I didn't think you knew NeO. Cool thing to see.
I would give one of my kidneys, and my left eye to have these guys come perform here in Kansas (I highly doubt it’ll happen though). Easily one of my favorite bands of all time. Their style and sound is so unique
I have been waiting for this... goosebumps from start to finish
This is actually SICK! Can’t wait to listen to the full album!
god damn the part at 5:02 is so fucking good, the nasty scream, the clear ass bass and the groovy drums are just perfect
the guitar triplets are also just so great
First!
Also it is my first time seing this Video!
So I agree Birb I also felt like there were parts that could have been trimmed but when you're vibing it's not too much if a deal for me personally. Love the Basswork in this Song. I mean the focus on the cleans is kinda different than their other Songs but yea its not very different sound from them vut it's a great Song from them and that's all I can hope for. When your Sound is this distinctable from other Bands I'm ok with not going overboard with doing something different as long as it's good and imo this is supersolid!
Thx Birb for reacting to this know you made my Day😊🤘
Sometimes I feel we get stuck on a band evolving and doing something different. To me, NeO has carved out their own sound and with this song have really just created a beautiful emotional piece evoking the image of the fires in Australia. I think they capture this perfectly.
I'm so glad they're back with a new one. Its incredible
Tim Charles is a global treasure.
This song was beautiful! Well done for the band.
Dude this band is the best kind of desert after the best kind of meal.
The drumming on this is phenomenal! Such a great band for any genre of metal
Finally here bout to watch!
You need to react to An Abstract Illusion for more epic prog. They will blow you away!
This and Parius’ album. Willowtip snagged some high places in my AOTY list!
The song is good and I think the violin adds a lot of emotion to this
9:00 of course it is. This is Ne Obliviscaris after all lol
Gotta get you into the other killer music out of Australia. BE'LAKOR- COHERENCE
I cannot wait for their new album
unbelievable band, seriously some good stuff, impactful
This song still has to grow on me. Anyway, I agree with you about it being similar to what they've done before. It's not really a problem, but I was curious to see if they can make something different.
Might not have anything "new" but they consistantly make amazing music.
that's fair
Haven't heard of these guys before but I'm hearing The Faceless turned up with with those more melodic elements and the violins.
Go listen to Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope. Might be the greatest song of all time
@@beardsloan nah, painters of the tempest is their best imo, forget not is awesome aswell
Finally. This one is a true grower.
Ne'obliviscaris has some of the best uses for blast beats ever
This is my personal gospel.
Sounds like Wilderun. I dig it!
And Mastodon..imo
Gives me Mastodon vibes for some reason..not a bad thing!
Already 2023's album of the year
Thought that was Myles Kennedy in the thumbnail 😂
Cutting edge of progressive music.
Second!
Finally new Ne. Shame Presland left but he left after this album. Nothing like them
Opethesque as fluff
Way fucking better.
Solo is good
If God was music it sounds like this
I love long songs, but this one definitely had some moments where it dragged a bit. Still, ecstatic for new music from these lads.
Yeah I feel the midsection is a bit too repetitious, but the first 4 minutes of the track and the clean part following the middle onwards is great.
It's perfect as it is. Ne Obliviscaris has not made any bad music. I disagree with your cons. If you disagree with me, your opinion is trash. Lmao (joking slightly on my last point)
Should absolutely not be 'more condensed'. You honestly couldn't be more wrong here.
I love NeO, but they've been usurped for me by last year's surprise contender Windfaerer. Some of the most masterful inclusion of violin in metal I've ever heard, the standout track 'Depletion' literally has a minute long violin solo near the end and it's mind-blowing. Can't recommend it enough, it's breathtaking.
God level talent in that band, but the songwriting bores me to tears.
why is that?
Congradulation, you pronounce none of the names correctly. That's impressive.
