    When I 1st arrived in S’pore in ‘93, this plot was a water-filled harbor. Over 4 years I watched it get drained, reclaimed, and planted with trees to help stabilize the soil. I returned to S’pore again to work there in ‘08, and watched this construction take place. Very impressive!

    "You can't think about it as individual buildings, you have to think about it as a piece of city. It's much more of a symphony than it is a sonata."
    I couldn't have summarised this any better myself having just been last month. This is why Singapore is so far ahead in terms its architecture and city planning, because it all just works together so beautifully. The interconnectivity and accessibility is unlike anything I've ever seen, a true marvel of engineering resulting from nothing short of pure ambition.

    • @KuroiGW2
      @KuroiGW2 20 дней назад

      @@mkehammond7277 From my experience this wasn’t the case at all. It’s directly connected to the city’s metro system and is one of the most popular stops. There’s something for everyone there, the light show they have is awesome and costs nothing. Not to mention they have Gardens by the Bay right behind which again is mostly free apart from a few sections which charge for entry.
      If I lived there I would go there often just to enjoy a nice walk because it’s such a beautiful place.
