This cassette album came with me on an overseas family trip when I was a little kid and I could not stop listening it, while reunited and playing with my cousins. Such a joyful soundtrack to a joyful time in my life. Thank you, Mr Henri! 🥰
I am 22 years old now.. I go on youtube and watch this song every now and then. It makes me forget about work and uni and all the problems etc that come with being an adult. It still never fails to brighten my mood up. If it was up to me it would stay the 90s forever When my brother and i were little we watched the ABC videos over and over again!
Dunno if you will ever see this comment seeing as its 12 years old but wow. Im 23 and was going to put those exact words down. Theres something really amazing about these songs that makes you feel like a kid again. The worries of adulting melt away with every bar
Dancing in The Kitchen was released in 1991 under ABC Music (ABC For Kids) on compact disc. It also received an Aria Nomination in that year for Best Children's Record.(1992)
one lovely song to sing when your in the kitchen doing the dishes and even wiping benches and tuning into the kitchen cleanliness and qaulity assurance and i remember watching this on the old ABC for Kids VHS Tape back in 1992
Thanks Franciscus! I am singing this song to my 4 week old baby non-stop at the moment, this song was such a source of joy in my childhood and I hope it will be in his too. He can't see his grandmas at the moment due to the lock downs, so we are all waiting for the day that he can be dancing with his grandmas again :) Cheers for the memories
Geez man, does this take me back... And still, here I am, 16 years of age, listening to kids' songs like this one. Franciscus, you've got one heck of a gift to do that. I've even got an old video from '92 titled "Oh No, It's The Franciscus Henri Video!" that is just pure childhood bliss. Thanks for the memories mate, and God bless.
OMG what a blast from the past. I used to watch this on an ABC for kids video. I still remember the words. Thanks for putting this up! Memories.... now off to find the one about walking on the moon.
Just found this, my brother had the VHS and I can still remember most of the words ha ha. Sent my brother the link and he said he found the cassette at a record store last week and it's in his stero right now. Classic! Cheers Franciscus
@FranciscusHenri My daughter and I both adored the video. It was inadvertantly left in an video player about eight years ago...the player was discarded and my then fifthteen year old daughter was devastated: as was I. Terrific music and not repetative lyrics, and I can still see the look on my little girl's face when she saw grandma's beard!! Great stuff.
i remember when i was about 5, i was called onto stage for one of your shows and it is still one of my favourite memories to this day, i met you twice and went to so many of your shows, i'm 16 now and i can't believe i remember all the lyrics to these!
there is nothing quite like finding these songs, after so many years. the nostalgia is overwhelmingly delightful :) Thanks for being such an awesome part of my childhood!
@FranciscusHenri I've got some bad news - I was watching this video at age 4 and I'm 22 now! Wasn't expecting to stumble across this today... Very pleasant surprise!
You were one of the 5 artists I watched most regularly as a kid along with Peter Combe, Don Spencer, Mike Jackson and Ian Blake and of course The Wiggles and I’m seeing the OG Wiggles this coming Friday night in Sydney.
I only just remembered Franciscus Henri yesterday and I got all nostalgic. The zoo in my house one and the one with pancakes used to scare me I think... and maybe the Milky Way one aswell, but I haven't got a clue why...
It was, indeed, my grandma who introduced me to this song, and we really did dance in the kitchen to it - the kitchen doubled as the dining room, and the cassette player (ha! cassettes!) was in there too. What a fantastic memory, especially as grandma is now long gone. Did the red hat fly off at the end of all his videos? I saw it happen in "White Pyjamas" as well.
Hello Monica. If you mean, 'Insects and Bugs', that was recorded by Gillian Eastoe, (I don't think there was a video) If you mean Bugs and Beetels That was on the same video But I haven't posted it yet.I will soon! Franciscus
Dear Movingallthewhile. I can't actually remember making this video. I'm told I made the video over ten years ago - that's not very long unless you are ten years old (or five) I do remember falling down the stairs (cartwheel in fact) at the age of six I expect the two are not related. Franciscus.
I think you've got me confused with the wiggles.. I know it looks as if there are four of me but that was done with mirrors,a rubber band and some sticky tape.

This beautiful man made my daughter feel 'normal' when all around her no one understood. Synesthesia is beautiful!

I'm 22 as well. But classic childhood memories are like fine wine, and the opposite of popstars. Better with age. XD
You may be in your 20s loving these, but im in my 40s and still love them. And still know all the words

This absolutely made my life. I haven't seen this since I was at least four or five years old.
I still sing this! And I play the kettle!
Probably my favourite song when I was five. Still up there 16 years later.

I loved this song as a kid. But how did they get 4 of you onto the screen? Did you have stunt doubles or what?
Although I will admit I was like 1-2. But I can remember falling off my pram when I was 1 and a half.

Ok
Franciscus and Grandpa don’t seem to like Grandma dancing with the chef. Can I ask why not?
I guess that's a compliment?
@mponekov NO I'm not THE WIGGLES...you are perhaps extremely confused or hallucinating.
Actually she's 130 and seems to have stopped breathing :))
