@@UrLocalWofFan so has OP. Free babysitting is financial help. @BPJD2004. I was thinking why she was so dramatic. She could have picked up the kids taken to any one of several people. If family has time to shame they have time to babysit. OP wouldn't get in trouble for leaving them any where. It is the moms responsibility to leave them with proper care. 😂😂. I love that she called their bluff.
Well that's the part of the toxic behavior. There's always one person in family who needs to step up always no matter what, so that other can be left alone. All of them could step up and help OP sister but nah... It's easier to put all blame on one person if that person refuses.
OP has escaped to a well-ordered, interesting life that she controls. Instead of applauding her achievement, the entire family is conspiring to destroy her way of life and equanimity while protecting the deadbeat dad of those kids.OP should offer to set up a family babysitter bureau and find a lawyer for her sister instead of becoming an on-call babysitter.
I would of put a message in the group chat saying yes your right lets all figure out who has what days free so Vanessa has a family member availble 24/7 for child care.
Good on OP, it takes courage and strength to hold your boundaries and to stand up for yourself . From what I heard her parents and her sister wanted it all or nothing while OP was willing to work with them as long as they understood that she still needed time for herself but instead they decided to push and they made the decision to cut OP off by pretty much telling her it’s my way or the highway.
You do not owe your family any of your time. You're parents can give her all the time your sister wants. Vanessa had those children, not you. She needs to grow up. They are her responsibility. You're aunts and the rest can give her their time or shut up. Don't give in. Not your problem.
At this point, I hate the concept of family, it's become rotten, saddening, and corrupted. In my family, my parents love to be controlling, narcissism, emotional neglect, manipulation, toxic behavior, and so much more. It is my parents way, or the highway. At this point it's hard to believe they are good families honestly. That's depressing.
The weird bits where she recaps what she posted on reddit when these are supposed to be reddit posts tells me this is either fake or "the assessor" is adding shit to make the video longer. Since I can't find it on reddit, I'm going with the former.
Hey i was severely depressed and homeless. My sister took me in and later kicked me out. It’s very difficult to be around a severely depressed person. I pretty much drove her crazy. It’s ok but very difficult at the time.
The moment the parents walked into the cafe i would have left. Its suppose to be me and you i told you noone else should come. Plus if the parents had time to come to the cafe then they have time to babysit
In my opinion she shouldn’t have asked for money but just keep the narrative of being busy bcs that way it made it like she just didn’t want it to do it for free not bcs she had her life to live
OP has only ever asked for Vanessa to be considerate and not leave her kids unannounced. It's messed up when you're called in to work/ have other plans and can't go because your sister decided to leave her kids by your door with no notice. Vanessa needs to find her ex and take his ass to court
If she were to experience a major personal tragedy, which causes her to lose her home and career, I wonder if she'd be crying to all the Redditors that encouraged her to abandon her family, complaining about how her family won't help her, in her own time of need?
@@monal3544 Sure, she has friends, now. But, it's one thing to sit over a glass of wine, listening to your friend complaining, and offering empty platitudes about self care. It's quite another to take that friend into your home, and to offer room, board, and financial support for an extended period of time, if that's what the friend needs. And, from what I've seen of people, over the past few decades, anyone who would encourage their friend to abandon family, will be quick to abandon any friend who becomes an inconvenience. What this broads family did, was to express disappointment in disappointing behavior. That's not particularly cruel, at all. It's actually very reasonable to be disappointed in that which is disappointing. I'll grant that the sister probably took it a bit far, but desperate women in perpetually emotional states tend to do that sort of thing.
All I have to say here is, if they think that she should have to do this, shouldn't they? I mean, my first question for them is. " you're so worried about how family should help...what is keeping them from babysitting?
@@monal3544 It may be no excuse, but when a desperate woman in an emotional state, behaves exactly how desperate women in emotional states usually behave, one cannot reasonably be shocked. Especially since the girl wouldn't have been quite so desperate and emotional, if her sister had proved to be a sibling worth having. Sure, OP had every right, and still has every right, to be the self serving, heartless shrew that she is. And her family has every right to call her out on it, and to express disappointment in her horrible behavior. But, should she ever find herself in a desperate need, she'll have no right to complain, should her family reasonably choose to turn their backs on her.
Tbh I’m on Vanessa’s side. Like I was partially on OP’s side but as soon as she asked for money for payment, she demonstrated that she does have the time to help out. And she also mentioned that she’s more financially well off. So like, why not
She has a bit more finances because she works a ton of overtime. Vanessa and her ex, (wherever he is) need to work out custodial arrangements with the involvement of the courts. OP works long hours, Vanessa can't expect her to drop everything whenever she needs a babysitter, because her sister doesn't have kids. It's absurd
Oh well not her problem, why isn’t the other family member watching Vanessa kids. Are you Vanessa??? Work is stressful she wants to enjoy her days off . WHERE IS YOUR CHILDRENS FATHER VANESSA???? Put him on child support so you can afford a damn babysitter
If they’re so concerned about family unity, tell them to step up to help.
They have financially.

well if they are so concerned about their daughter why not also take care of their grandchildren, or get a babysitter for them
Bro if they are so convinced to help babysit Vanessa why don’t they do it and stop being keyboard warriors
My question is why aren't the parents helping or the cousins or the aunts? Like seriously why does it always all have to fall onto the sister?

Where is the support from Vanessa's ex husband and his family? Does he not take his kids for the weekends
