You guys could do a low-altitude dog fight. You each have a plane, with an altitude sensor, and if it exceeds the threshold all of your thrust shuts off for a few seconds. And you fight over land. I don't know, what should happen if the sensor gets shot off, perhapskies it makes your plane explode instantly (lol)
Could do it with logic so if it’s shot off you can’t turn the engine on, so you have to defend the sensor. AND gate with the altitude sensor set to “trigger below” and your keybind as inputs, outputting to your thrust.
Day 6: Perhabskis one person builds a plane with propulsion and has to pull a glider up into the air. After detaching in the air the plane with propulsion has to land on the glider. Idealy the glider lands on the aircraft carrier or island...
Hey Scrapman, I have a unique video idea. So there’s this area in the airborne map called Dry Oasis, and it’s basically a large pit with a bunch of balloons in the middle, including a flak balloon. My idea is to have you and maybe 2 others build vehicles and see how many laps you can do around the oasis before you get ripped to shreds. I’ve done this myself and it requires a balance of controllability, speed, and tankiness. I think it would either have to be a time trial or a destruction derby where all of you go at once and race around the oasis which, I forgot to mention, is full of rocks and trees. I think it would make for a great video.

Perhapskis you could have a multiplayer battle with this concept. Just arm the boat, so the torpedo bombers can rather play it risky and drop it close to the boat possibly getting shot down, or play it safe and drop it from a further distance, although with less accuracy and more of a risk of the boat shooting the torpedo.
I'm wondering if you guys can't do a dive bomber bunker buster challenge. Here's the concept I have for "the bunker buster" because I can never tell with Trailmakers. But build a bomb that is a bit long in length and it's the most aerodynamically sound inside of it. Due the limited number of connection points TNT has, you should be able to rig up a core within a bomb shell with either a distance or altitude sensor triggering it where the core is released from the shell right before the shell hits the target. The shell is supposed to punch a hole in the bunker/target and make a path for the TNT core to fly down into the target and explode. I don't know if that will work, but if it does or something similar can be done, that would be awesome. The randomness of the game would make it so some times the core may tumble and explode on the shell, some times the shell will freakishly bounce off the target and hit the core exploding it away from the target. The ideal would be the shell is destroyed and destroys the outer layer of a bunker and the explosive core retains momentum and flies down in past armor so it then takes it out from the inside. I'll have to test it out to see the viability of it all, but if it does work, bunker busting would be a fun challenge.
I feel certain Scrap's Torpedo has a veer to the left and it's perceptible even on the closer target, whereas Yzuei's had the slightest teensy weensiest veer to the right that was only really perceptible on the long range shots. I dunno about Yzuei's Torpedo, but I think Scrap's Torpedo veered cause having only one Gyro Stabilizer for the front-back orientation in combo with the Torpedo being a Even Width shape caused it to have a left-right CoM weight imbalance. Asymmetry is always risky business when CoM is a major design concern. Also, is that Distance Sensor thing about its Detection LoS being off-center compared to the Part Model really true!!? :O
I don't know if this would work, but for the overpowered challenges, what about doing like bombers vs. overpowered warship. Or something like one thing vs. something that would be something that thing would fight, like the ships the drop depth charges vs. overpowered submarine

One idea I have had for awhile is having a race on one of the low grav planets but don't allow people to just spam repair That way people actually end up racing on the planet rather then just throwing themselves around and crashing
Can you build an OP ship with destructible fuel cells, that- once destroyed, partially take out shields or weapons? Like a boss battle with traditional weak points.
Seeing how slow those torpedoes were moving made me think...we need a _supersonic_ torpedo challenge Excluding the no drag glitch, you can do _whatever_ you have to do to get the torpedo up to speed and make a plane beefy enough to carry it

I’m not sure if you have done this but maybe make plans out of TNT (suicidal bombers) and the aim is to destroy a ship or vehicle but you need to make sure the TNT doesn’t get shot before you can strike. I tried it with my friends and it was very thrilling and I'm sure that will be a very fun video

I think Scrapmans issue is his plane didn't have a constant output function for the tail propellers to stay level. The roll causes the torpedo to catch more resistance on one side and curve.
The swordfish was nowhere near the best, its design was very outdated for WW2. The Torbeau (Bristol Beaufighter armed with a Torpedo) was alot better than the swordfish was at Torpedo Bombings.
get a few friends, build a modest ship (slow, light armament, but robust protection) have a driver and a gunner for the ship, then have the torpedo bomber make "runs" at the ship. each repair either to fix damage or to rearm costs 10 seconds to the time, persons design with the fastest take down wins. if you have more then 3 friends spawn in extra bombers, rotate repeat

I have a similar challenge for you guys. Same challenge, but with a cruise missile. Preferably, something that will fly low altitude and hit the ship at the waterline. Basically your torpedoes, but without water propulsion.
3:34 if you use 2 XOR gates and have them loop then they keep their "charge" even after being detached and you can wire anything in to them and it not turn off
Did you get the torpedo weight balanced properly? I wasn't sure while watching, but it seemed like your torpedo perahpskis might have been a tiny bit asymmetrical where you had the logic gates.
The water trails have a visual thing where it looks like it turns a bit to the right or left. Unless it's built asymmetrically, it shouldn't be veering off to the side.
A good thing to have added was a gun. Initially a questionable thing to add considering the challenge, but the sights would've allowed better precision when aiming.

@scrapman how about a competition like this one, but the torpedo has to drop under and obstacle before getting to the target. So you drop the torpedo, it dives under the water under one boat, then pops up to the surface and you have to hit another boat on the other side a few hundred meters away.

Rules I’ll put in place, no weapons like guns or missles, no energy shields, no broken glitches (obviously) no flying parts, and no explosives

How about a high jump? All power has to shut off after 50 meters, no explosives. Highest altitude sensor wins. (probably best as an evolution)
