Field recordings from foggy towns to desolate mountains. Deep space drone and crackling amplifiers combine into a black sky devoid of stars.
Yog-Sothoth is a cosmic entity and Outer God of the Cthulhu Mythos and the Dream Cycle of H. P. Lovecraft. Born of the Nameless Mist, he is the progenitor of Cthulhu, Hastur the Unspeakable and the ancestor of the Voormi.
Yog-Sothoth is omniscient, and is locked outside the universe, meaning he knows and can see all of space-time all at once, that there is no secret hidden from Yog-Sothoth.
So is this a compilation?
No, this is a collaboration and huge undertaking. 20 artists linked studios and sound for over a year so that they could work with each other. This led to a deep exploration of the Mythos and Yog-Sothoth

This might be the most profound collaboration out of the other three that exist. So open and so wondrous, it was like an intelligent journey of knowledge and profane excitements, unlike a terrific cacophony that stretches inward and outward.

That would be hard, all of us artists used each others audio to build new tracks, in a sense every artists fingerprints are everywhere on this album.

Very cool - the guitar (if that's what it is) in the first 10 minutes or so makes me think of Terje Rypdal - kind of spacy and melted at the same time. Good stuff!

There is a lack of eyes and tentacles for the video. Azatoth had a nice representation. Yog-Sothoth deserver as much.

at 25min a part with bassy duh's, metallic clangs and some...rattling(?) starts, and I wonder where I can find a whole track with just that stuff. I'm not really expecting anyone will reply here but it's worth a try.

BTW this album seems to mix Dungeon Ambient, Gothic Choirs, Space Ambient, and many others. The Yog Sothoth album is the perfect ambient album for me.
As far as i know dungeon ambient does not exist. Dark Ambient has about 13 different sides. But i can`t find dungeon ambient anywhere.
This series is one of my favourite things online. So good to write to. So good just to listen to. Are you guys on spotify?
