As someone who has just stumbled across your video, I am impressed with the colour palette, the anatomy of the characters, the choice of music, and the general flow of the whole video. I did go into the comments and find that one person said that it should be sped up, so to see if that would make a difference I increased the video's speed by 1.25 and boy howdy, the flow seemed a lot more natural. It seemed like the characters weren't really thinking about how they were going to land a punch or sword swipe, but instead acting more on instinct (which one would do in a real fight) when sped up. The Grimm were fabulous, and I got a little shiver up my back from seeing a giant armored spider with a hole mouth, so props for that. The only issues I had were the lackluster sound effects (and how the music wasn't balanced to allow the sound effects that were there to hit full force), the short steps of walking/running (it may just be a personal thing, but in my experience the faster someone is walking/running the wider their steps are, unless they're a ninja), and lack of voice effects to go with your characters (doesn't need to be words, just grunts and huffs for getting hit and fighting back). Something tells me that the exchanges between those two would involve so much sass. Although I don't know anything about animation, so take my comments and critiques with a grain of salt. I can't wait to see you improve! +1 Subscriber
Okay because I have a lot of points to make I just want to start with this: Your monster designs are on point, serioussly that Spide was badass and I love those weird crawly people things, serioussly you've got great ideas for monsters, however... the actual fight animation isn't quite their yet, it's getting there don't get me wrong. It's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than your first project with more moves flowing together faster. Still that wasn't my biggest issue, and I'm sorry to say this as I know its a colossal pain to get right but the sound design is lacking somewhat... trust me getting a good impact noise in will make future work so much better I promise. (also have you ever looked up how to do outlines and toon shading in Maya? tutorials are all over youtube and it would help it fit in with the RWBY aesthetic, anyway, can't wait to see what you make next)
Solid animation, dude! The timing was good, and there was no foot sliding which I can greatly appreciate. You even gave your characters some attitude! I loved that. If you plan on continuing with another trailer, I'd like to make some suggestions: If you can, try to populate your environment so it doesn't look barren. One thing you can also do for your fight scenes, (from the wisdom of Dillon Goo) you can put your choreography to the beat of music to keep things fast-paced. Great animation, though! Please do continue if you can!
You've made significant progress from the first trailer to this point; I'm quite impressed. Plenty of others have pointed out things you can certainly work to improve but I'm honestly just happy to see people doing something that they enjoy and getting better at it through their own hard work.
It's really great to see the RWBY Fandom has still some Fan Animations being produced and released nowadays. Especially Fan Animations as good as yours. Yeah there's still ways for improvement, but seeing how you got much better with movements and pacing, and how it seemed so much smoother to the eye I say you're getting there. I'm impressed by your Grimm concepts and the way how animate them. But I'm even more so about your OCs. It's a thing to come up with characters, but it's another to actually go and bring them to life. It gives us hope about this Community's future. I look forward for the rest of Team DARK! (At least if it IS a team, tell me if I'm wrong.)
Your newest trailer is the first one I watched, so I can say right away that your skills in animating and such have improved GREATLY from here till now. Great work! Hoping to see more.
Highly recommend putting it on 1.25 speed! The only parts that suffer from this speed up is 3:05 and the very ending where it helps to slow things down for dramatic effect. I really liked this animation! The way the spider flipped over was SUPER cool, and I really liked how the blades spun around and cut off one of the grimm’s head, super creative. I also really liked the bit at 2:55. Overall nice job my dude.
The animations are really smooth and neat! You even had a nice atmosphere going too (though maybe too much red, though that's more of a lighting thing). Though I do think as a result of this smoothness, it lacks a certain "snappy" quality that could give it more impact. I would highly recommend studying and analysing some 2D animation clips, particularly limited animation and sakuga, where they rely more on strong, distinct keyframes due to the low number of frames. It would definitely give your fights that "Monty" impact. The weapons, especially the dual-wielder's, was really creative too. Great work, and all the absolute best for your future projects, Raxacory!
Oh snaaaap really well written fight, love it! My favorite was the dark and mysterious character but the red character had a cool shield. (and of course, your grimm were great.)
I will say, as a second project this is pretty good. The models look good, the world design and monster designs are pretty neat, though I will say the animation from time to time is very slow-ish. I feel like it could be sped up here and there but overall it's pretty solid. Keep up the good work!
Great monster design with the spider. When it shifted sides, I smiled at the move. The fight overall was meh but it's an old animation. I already know you get better. I would say though that I didn't get to know "K" with this. A fight trailer should tell you about the character from the way they fight. The only thing I know about him is that he's got red hair and the equipment he uses.
I don't know if I like the guy in black, but I laughed at 2:53 when he uses his hands to ask his buddy if he plans on doing anything today. I hate the over-use of white on the Grimm. The Giant Deathstalker in the Emerald Forest was covered in armor without needing to be predominantly white. The camera should have focused on the red guy's projectile weapon the first time he used it; the bird's eye view doesn't let us see what he's using.
I actually quite like how when fighting the giant spider their attacks where actually taking chunks out of it it definitely makes the strikes alot more impactful because it's not just a generic hit or severing showing that both the spider and the hunter are strong
This one is an obvious sign of your improving skill. Its human nature that if you just tried, you're bound to get better. It wasn't perfect, but it was very good!
As others have said, the action should be sped up. It would look more natural that way. At the beginning when the wolf was walking, the paws' movements were very stiff. I may not have noticed it except that the camera was zoomed in on the legs and paws. I loved how the spider flipped over in the middle of the fight. I also loved how when the character with two swords was fighting there was that blue glow behind the swings.
I think this looks good, and the ideas for the Grimm are pretty freaking cool, but they just aren't making me think RWBY, but I think that's just because they aren't as beefy as other grimm, like they look more skeletons, the Crawlers as I will forever call them I think make sense but I think the spider at least should be thicker, in a sense look like it has more meat on it if you get what I mean
I have some feedback only because you asked, I would be happy to provide. Now to start off, these are great, rwby level quality in my books. I watched all 4 and the short and you got a like for all 5 videos. (i will be watching the grim vs normal villagers next) I rate it heavy. My feedback is on crimsons character design. I watched a review and that was the main thing I agreed with. Crimson is a lil boring but there are a few small things that can really spruce him up. 1.Weapon. I would change his one weapon to multiple martial weapons. I think he should have his shield back. the gun on it included. I would however allow his shield to change between the gaunlet gun, a tower shield and a buckler of sorts, especially if you can think of a way for the "gun" part of it to be usable in buckler mode. Also please give him back his huge axe. I would have the Axe and have his sword inside his Axe much like Blakes, in this way he could dual wield axe and sword or sword and shield etc. Make him be also be able to combine the axe and sword into a polearm of sorts. This way rather than simply being a standard tank he has a more interesting feel to him. Bonus points if you can make his armor carry more weapons for him, or more likely his team to use, on long missions as you have introduced the fact that weapons can break. (loved that touch btw) 2. Semblence From what I see his semblence is something like a literal forcefield allowing him extra strength and durability. im down with it but it still needs a way to stand out a lil more than it does now. I would actually change that slightly and give it a more Nen like effect (from hunter hunter). Channeling it around the entire body gives it strength and durability but putting it in one part of the body quadruples the effect without changing the size. Now he needs to be careful how he puts this on his body because it leaves other parts of him vulnerable and that more than one part of the body needs to be fortified to do specific things (just like in nen) but this is also why he puts it around himself because it means he doesnt have to think about it. it simply is full body enhancement 2 times over. To top it of give him a small amount of aura just to say why he doesnt "show off" much. 3. outfit I really like the first type of armour rather than the 2nd but that is more of an opinion. My big thing with him is the colour. Its a bit too monochrome. I would sugest using a few lighter shades of red and other neutral light coloured accents. Try to stay away from black as you already have the Ash in red and black. (she looks cool too). I think going with a fire motif, (reds orange and yellows) could work but Im not the best at character design though so Take this point with a grain of salt. All in all, keep doing what youre doing cause youre boss at it. especially if youre passionate about it.
I love this yet it's pacing sets it behind just work a bit on frame rate I love how smooth this is though, it just needs to be slightly faster to seem realistic
I like your Grimm designs the weapons are simple but that's not a bad thing you still need to work on fluidity of animation and how to make your hits have more impact
I watched all of your videos man and I have to say I love team dark I haven't seen anything regarding information on them but can you tell us the names of each character and their semblances
This is cool!!! Love the concept... But was watching the animation at 2:042:09 - would hate if the "lone ranger" character was using his weapon to maneuver and one of his bullets accidentally hit one of his teammates... Guess the same concept could be applied to Ruby's scythe but I feel like it'd be more of an issue with this character's design.
I absolutely love the Grimm in your fanimations. You come up with some really cool monsters and designs.
Yeah, the Grimm designs are awesome.
2:59 T-posing to assert dominance lolol.
But seriously, this was rly good.

same! XD

A giant heavily-armored spider Grimm. I FREAKIN' LOVE IT! Rooster should pick you up, your design ideas for the Grimm would be phenomenal.

This is your _second_ animation? Not _the_ second animation but _your_ second animation? Holy hell, the quality jump is *BIG!*
I'm going through all your work and really enjoying the progression I'm seeing from the most recent to these vids. excellent
Incredible trailer. Well Done!
Love the Flanged Mace, Battle Axe Hybrid and the use of a Tower Shield? Just perf
That throat grab and blade swing tho
Dude your Grimm designs are amazing

Dark is such a badass.
You have what it takes to be á animator keep up with the good work
Why'd it have to be spiders?
Why couldn't it be protect humanity by fighting butterflies?
Great design work, kudos!
3:19-3:27 Wait did The lone Huntsman just turned into a Wolf at the ending cause I think he did
Good eye!
Man I really wish I knew someone personally who animated. I would give so much to see my characters living.
This dude predicted the Apathy lol
I get the feeling that this will take place long after the events of rwby
I actually quite like how when fighting the giant spider their attacks where actually taking chunks out of it it definitely makes the strikes alot more impactful because it's not just a generic hit or severing showing that both the spider and the hunter are strong
It's hard to come back to these stilted pieces after Sunrise
This one is an obvious sign of your improving skill. Its human nature that if you just tried, you're bound to get better. It wasn't perfect, but it was very good!
your character design is on point
Rewatching this again and I still love where the dude just is like wtf
Krimson Stride is honestly my favorite Character of Team Dark.
I'm calling it, the hooded man has silver eyes
2:58 Me: 😭
3:04 My mom vs the spider in my room TTwTT
Love the dual sword Black Knight character, keep it up you're doing really good.
No lie, that was a sick fuckin combo right there. Gunblade tonfas are fucking lit apparently
Lord of mercy! What the heck has Salem cooked up this time
Oooh i like the weapons! The axe one seemed pretty nice and since it came with a shield it gave me an idea for an oc of mine
Sugar Punch reminded of Monster Hunter and the Switch Axe
I swear that game could be ancient history of Remnant!
With a few twists...
XD
This is supposed to be Crimson trailer stop making me crazy about The Lone Hunter, I LOVE how the sword spins around after a shot, like it’s reloading
As others have said, the action should be sped up. It would look more natural that way. At the beginning when the wolf was walking, the paws' movements were very stiff. Amazing job guys
yo I wish Rooster Teeth could see these grimm! O0O
Well then looks like I have competition
Raith has always been carrying haha.
I keep wondering how did I not find this sooner
2019
I got a very Advent Children feel from the wolf
Nice work Buddy
That's some great potential man keep it up
your stronger point is definetely Grimm design
I think this looks good, and the ideas for the Grimm are pretty freaking cool, but they just aren't making me think RWBY, but I think that's just because they aren't as beefy as other grimm, like they look more skeletons, the Crawlers as I will forever call them I think make sense but I think the spider at least should be thicker, in a sense look like it has more meat on it if you get what I mean
YOU FUCKING GENIUS!!!
You predicted the Apathy grimm!
Nice, keep up the good work.
the character's chest armor reminds me of legend of dragoon
Love your Style. So much Potential!!! i speed the vid 1.25 and it was realy good so was the normal speed at 1.00
Watching this after seson 6 I'm just thinking that those grim look like apathy

the designs of the other dark team members could really profit from some guns in their weapons
Amazing! 🔥
What is the name for the big spider Grimm and the human spider hybrid Grimm?
The names are "Aranea" and "Wendigo", respectively.
Let’s hope that crimson can beat up Cardin
i would make those arm blades shorter that his arms so he catn´t chpo his own head of. Really weard but awesome grimm design
I see great potential in both of them, makes me curious on what is under the hood...
By any chance, does the hooded man has one Silver Eye??????!!!!!!!!
I love this yet it's pacing sets it behind just work a bit on frame rate I love how smooth this is though, it just needs to be slightly faster to seem realistic
does Wraith have sliver eyes?
Seems more white but.... maybe because of an experiment?
What is Krimson's emblem?
Also I love how the tarantula flips over, and by love I mean, AAAAAAAAAH!
I have to say love just love the video i would make a trailer but I have no tech skills to my life. Hopefully I can learn enough to do a slideshow.
the guy in black clothing looks cooler!!
Are theses OCs from Atlas? Just thought because of the snow x
LIKE AMIGO ME ENCANTO LA ANIMACIÓN Y LOS PERSONAJES
Shouldn't it be Krimson? If not, then DARC.
Trailer names are not character names.
@@Raxacory Ah. Thanks for clarifying.
Good moves
Action cines well done
Just need more ag comtrol
work on making the characters faces look better and id say you have greatness ahead of you. can't wait to see hat you make next

Giant enemy spider
I like your Grimm designs the weapons are simple but that's not a bad thing you still need to work on fluidity of animation and how to make your hits have more impact

Personally I think you should’ve focused more on the crimson character because this was his video. It felt like a rehash of the black character again.
What is the music could
Red Sasuke
Could be faster, it looked way better in 2x speed
Is this Krimson?
This is cool!!! Love the concept... But was watching the animation at 2:04 2:09 - would hate if the "lone ranger" character was using his weapon to maneuver and one of his bullets accidentally hit one of his teammates... Plan on doing more?
For sure.
Hopefully two more before V6 ends.
He has no neck.
I would suggest giving your human characters a more defined neck 😁
maya?
wasn't this supposed to tell us something about Crimson ? yet the other guy killed the monster , so it tells us that Crimson is a weak bastard ???
I gotta ask! The cool one with the double swords and the hood. Whats his/her name and whats the weapons called?
I was meh up until 1:47 Then shit got real.
:-D
