How to include a JNPR VS Raven fight like this one: Raven decides she's getting out of practise and could use a good fight against strong foes. Then she spots team JNPR, remembers that Pyrrah's famous for her combat abilities, and thinks "They should do." And then she attacks. (A bit random, but random fights are one of the things the show was known for, so it still works. As for the plot, just leave out Yang and there should be a couple spots you could add the scene to without disrupting anything.)
That Nora & Pyrrah mid-air attack was just as amazing as the stuff you would see in the show in the beacon days. Really friggin cool. I really didn't expect this animation to have such a big production value. Everything from the voices, (props to the VA's they sounded really similar to the characters's) choreography, music and animation were really on point. I loved how y'all somehow made the fight interesting and fun to watch while also selling just how out of league the others were in comparison to Raven. Just... Bravo. Excellent job all around to the team that made this possible. What a great dedication to Monty and Shane. I'm floored that this is "nothing yet."
Only thing I can think to make the mid air move better to add the actual back blast sending nora further in the air but mad props for bring this fight I never knew I needed to life
@@eren34558 there's a difference between being an apologist, and recognizing when a character was changed for seemingly no reason. All EF wants is for Raven to be represented the way Monty envisioned.
I love love LOVE how you can tell that Raven was holding back until the end. Like how she effortlessly dodged in the first bit, took the time to block in the middle, and then at the end let JNPR get some hits in before oneshotting them.
While not perfect, there's definitely that 'Monty' feel to the choreography that alot of true fans of the show dearly miss. Rooster Teeth may have upped the visuals in later seasons but it's not gonna mean jack unless it's matched by choreography. Keep up the good work.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINALLY USING THEIR FIGHT STYLES IN A CREATIVE MANNER. I looped the Nora Smashing down pyhrra onto raven shot like 10 times. It shows off the character interaction and fight styles of Monty's choreography so well! I miss when rwby fights used to actually be fun

This. This is the Raven I wish we got in the show. Legit I felt the sheer *presence* this character had. Some minor criticism though: Pyrrha's mic quality was the worse... That's really about it. The fight was fun, it was good seeing JNPR fighting as a whole again and Raven *do something* other than just Maiden vs Maiden fight. Good job Labowski.
1:40 I don't think Nora's fighting style works well in when standing within close range of a swordsmaster like Raven. Using a blunt hammer as a means of deflecting high speed sword strikes would be disasterous. It would make more sense for Nora to be keeping herself away from Raven, only to bring the pain down on powerful Earth shattering strikes, before quickly retreating.
For the record, maintaining momentum by spinning the hammer does heavily negate this as swords are made so that the tip moves fast, moving the whole thing still takes time. This is particularly true in the case of Raven who uses a very long katana variant. Raven strikes so fast because her stats are high, not because of a mechanical advantage.
Okay, that was freaking awesome. JNPR did a lot better than I thought they would, honestly. Raven was freaking awesome. You made her even cooler. If it's not too much to ask, you think you can animate her fight against Adam from the fan manga?
Wow I mentioned the concept of Raven vs JNPR in my RWBY Dropped/Unexplored Storylines video and then 4 days later I see this. Great video it looks so amazing 👍
THIS LOOKS GOOD!! AS I RWBY FAN MY HEART IS SO FULL! Thank you for blessing us with your work and its been awhile since I saw pyrrha in action so im just really ecstatic right now.
Great work on this! Raven using her different Dust blades for elemental attacks instead of as a pointy multicolour pen - even if it was just once, that's all I ever wanted from an action scene with her. It was the one truly missed opportunity with her fight with Cinder for me - a unique way to show a unique weapon mechanic shafted in favour of a floaty magic fight.
Honestly this is quite lovely! Just a small titbit for the Pyrrha voice actor, from what I hear, they probably recorded in a very echoey room. A really easy way (even with just your phone) to improve that is by recording inside a closet (I’m not kidding.) I used to do this for some voice work when I didn’t have the option of working with great equipment. Other then that, everyone did a lovely job! This was quite fun to watch. What I like about this fight the most is that all the members tried their best and none of them were useless or ineffective. Even Jaune landed some hits but Raven is clearly way stronger. Even at 1:58 where he performs two slashes and tries to do a backhand slash when anticipating Raven's dodge, he didn't lose the trade because he did something stupid. He did his best and got out-skilled. That's how fights should go. Also lets appreciate the classic callback to the Scorpion and Nevermore fight at 2:22.

If I had to guess, Raven probably guessed (correctly) that Pyrrha was gonna be Oz's choice for Fall, and so she attacked them to see if she already had the Maiden power or not (similar to Volume 2 where Mercury used a sparring match to figure out Pyrrha's semblance). But, if this was still in the doubles, than this would probably be between episodes 4 and 5 before their match and before Pyrrha's talk with Ozpin, so she'd have no context to why this fight (except perhaps a vague clue or two Raven could drop). The audience wouldn't have context for it until the end of the Haven arc.

And that’s just awesome, it feels very nostalgic 👏🏼❤️ I wish I had the talent and patience to do this type of animation because I have been wishing for someone do so some Ozpin MMD animation because there totally should be more Ozpin animations since we’ve gotten so little.
This animation was great but that "You haven't seen anything yet" brought out so much nostalgia I almost started crying. This was an amazing tribute to an incredible person.
You have left a mark on this world dude and that mark is a beautiful and awesome animation that not only took me back to the golden days of rwby but also will forever be an inspiration to those striving to create their own projects and stories.
This was excellent work sir. This feels like the old school RWBY that everyone fell in love with. I mean it says a lot when fans can choreograph better fight scenes than the actual production company
Dang, it's like I'm watching the first two volumes of RWBY again! That parts I especially loved were Jaune being a capable fighter (landing on his feet and arming himself during Raven's initial attack as well as attacking Raven and blocking a few of her attacks), Nora and Pyrrha's aerial combo at 2:18, which reminded me a lot of their combo against the Deathstalker, and Raven's Nevermore attack.
@yeh uda it's not like it's undeserved. "This is the first time either of us have ever really written anything".... HOW THE hell do you let them lead the writing?!. Even novice writers could make better shit.
@yeh uda For scrapping this fight and moving the already mostly animated Yang vs Adam fight to vol.6 (and just having Adam one-shot Yang instead) as soon as Monty was not precent to push his own vision? Their writing level aside, you gotta admit that that part was just disrespectful
This was pretty well done when it comes to RWBY fan animations imo, as you've managed to perfectly capture the feel and tone of early RWBY fight scenes, which is something even the actual series can't even do nowadays, so you definitely get major props for that!👍 Unfortunately, there were a couple things here that I do find could use some work. While for the most part was smooth and fast paced, was also VERY stiff and rigid in other parts, especially during the dialogue scenes. The voice was also not too great here, though it seemed to me that it was primarily because of the hugely clashing quality in microphones, and so much the acting of the actors themselves. Finally, I question the implementation of the jiggle physics applied to the girls' chests, as not only it very distracting during the most intense moments to see their breasts just floppping every which-way for the tiniest action, but also confusing in Phyrra's case, as her corset really shouldn't be moving like that. While I did have a few gripes with certains things here, I did overall very much enjoy myself here, and can't wait to see what uou put out next, as you only been improving with each animation, so keep up the good work! 😁👍
This is spot-on! I actually appreciate the way of animation that Monty and Shane did in the first three volumes and you brought back with it... Keep moving forward

Imagine going to a comment that mentions the drop in quality of a show and blaming their opinion on ships that you don't like The video really went for the vibe Monty's style had unlike what the show has now
Eh, I don't even know what to say. The words aren't enough to express how I feel about this. This was awesome and it's shameful that we didn't get to see context for this fight.
love how you actually did creative camera shots/angles, the characters individual fighting styles, and used the environment! it's not common at all to see those being used in rwby fan animations, which while understandable, kinda takes away from animations. they're huge staples of rwby fights, particularly in v1-v3 when monty was still around (and is generally a part of monty's style of animation as a whole, as seen in rvb and rwby, and even halo/metroid animation he did). i love it when specific fighting styles are added and the environment is used, because environment tends to be more of a background thing than something the characters can actually USE. camera shots/angles aren't very important aspects, but imo they add a lot to a fight, especially when done correctly. i love the little details in this animation, like ren losing his weapons, the teammates relying on each other, and also using their own weapons/fighting styles to boost the others (like that bit with pyrrha and nora). also actually remembering that raven's blades are made out of dust, and aren't just colored like that for no reason. and i think the characters personalities show a lot here! the interaction in the beginning screams rwby (would've thought so if it weren't for the background and pyrrha lol), not to mention how everyone moves. also i like that pyrrha seemed to sense something wrong before raven actually attacked, cause it reminded me of the beginning of v1, where pyrrha was explaining aura to jaune. there's so many little things animators don't usually take into account when doing fights, but i think this did it really well! obviously, it's not exactly like rwby, but it's pretty damn close in my opinion. this was super fun to watch!
Jaune never would have stuck that landing... anyway, I've always assumed Raven kicks their butts, but leaves when she realizes Pyrrha doesn't have it yet. Would've made that conversation about hunted maidens a little more interesting, but that's what happens when you try to stretch out a series to last as long as possible.
See the concept for this fight which comes from like the late V2-early V3 production era and actually predates the Maiden concept, which Monty came up with late during the plotting of V3 by which point Raven was possibly already cut out of V3. It was just an idea he had that he thought was cool but they couldn't find a way to naturally work it into the story basically.
I really wish we saw this in canon instead of the coward we got of Raven after Monty died. They even neglected the end credit scene where Raven and Yang WAS talking like it never happened! She could have been so much more of an anti hero earning her redemption slowly in a reluctant manner for the sake of protecting Yang than just a simple deadbeat mother who runs away and is never seen again.
The Raven in this video wasn't even trying nor has she use her maiden powers to boots and she had enough strength to slice a fucking building with ease, this is the Raven Brawren that we should have gotten in the actual series and not the coward pansy that we got in vol 5, if this what we gotten at the end of vol 2, it would been a heck of a cliffhanger but it wasn't. SMFH. >:(

I dont hate rwby because i hate discard its existence i hate the Official publication of rwby and what it has done due to the insulting misuse of its material and potential
i chastise rwby for what it could of been not unlike a child who you expect more off do somthing very dissapointing
And this video in my opinion gives me a feeling emphasizes such a thing

Sad that this fight got cut out of volume 3 but glad we finally get to see it now. THAT WAS AWSOME !
I hope there were people in that building!
Also I dig Nora's eating style.
Jokes aside I loved the fight. I thought Pyrrah would put up a little more of a fight.
Earned a subscriber. Also, Monty would be proud of you.
Came here from Adel aka's video. What a masterpiece stuff, man! 👍
Damn this is impressive it looks like a fight from the actual show and everything, Great job!
This was so amazing! I think you did a wonderful job, it definitely feels very Volume 1-3! And that’s just awesome, it feels very nostalgic 👏🏼❤️
I wish I had the talent and patience to do this type of animation because I have been wishing for someone do so some Ozpin MMD animation because there totally should be more Ozpin animations since we’ve gotten so little.
You're very passionate with lots of potential, you did good. Can't wait to see what's next :)

It's what happens when a production company sells their soul to the devil.
@@Vigriff according to Shane's letter oh, they were already bad people before they sold their soul
@@lordsinister707 Really?
@@Vigriff Yes read the letter. It's very eye opening
@@lordsinister707 do you seriosuly believe shane's letter?
it was debunked as bullshit
That was amazing! With a little polish this would’ve been so much fun!!! This feels so much more grounded then newer Rwby has been
This was beautiful. Thank you for making this happen.
I came here because Adel Aka recommended this awesome video to me.
Jaune has some balls to land a hit on Raven even when it didn't much anyway.
i love the choice of music! xevel has been one of my favorites for years.
I have no words that can describe how AWESOME!!!!!! this is.
Kudos to this animation's Voice Actors and Its incredible Animator.
This was Amazing and it only left me with two questions why Team JNPR and what epic song from season 3 would be playing lol Excellent Work.
This could somewhat pass for a early rwby volume episode
You madlads actually did it!!! YOU TRULY DID IT 👍👍👍👍
I'll never forgive Miles and Kerry for scrapping this fight!
Damn good work making this
It was a fun fight anyways
@yeh uda it's not like it's undeserved. "This is the first time either of us have ever really written anything".... HOW THE hell do you let them lead the writing?!. Even novice writers could make better shit.
@yeh uda For scrapping this fight and moving the already mostly animated Yang vs Adam fight to vol.6 (and just having Adam one-shot Yang instead) as soon as Monty was not precent to push his own vision?
Their writing level aside, you gotta admit that that part was just disrespectful
This was wonderful, thanks for your hard work!
2:22 that face... those jiggle physics... perfection
I wheezed when you pointed that out
If I was told this was a lost early test footage for Volume 3, I would've totally believed it.
1:33
AHHHHHH. THAT REVEN SWORD SCENE JUST MADE ME EYESGASM.
This was pretty well done when it comes to RWBY fan animations imo, as you've managed to perfectly capture the feel and tone of early RWBY fight scenes, which is something even the actual series can't even do nowadays, so you definitely get major props for that!👍
Unfortunately, there were a couple things here that I do find could use some work.
OKAY, that Nora/Pyrrha combo move was so sick! you did a great job!
This is spot-on! I actually appreciate the way of animation that Monty and Shane did in the first three volumes and you brought back with it... Keep moving forward
This is the RWBY that got me into the series in the first place, how has this series fallen so much. Truly sad.
can the blacksun shippers kindly shut up so rwby fans can enjoy the show?
oh right, adam fanatics, I apologize.
@@eren34558 holy crap, is that what your thinking about right now, again, and not for the first time, again? Because madworldisrael didn't even mention Black sun. Just his own, subjective opinion about a show. Just a show.
Imagine going to a comment that mentions the drop in quality of a show and blaming their opinion on ships that you don't like
The video really went for the vibe Monty's style had unlike what the show has now
THE MUSIC BATTLE IS SO GOOD OMG, YOU DID S REALLY GREAT JOB THOUGH, I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!
Ducking awesome, seriously this brought such a large smile to my face
So cool !!!
Thank pal for such a great fight !!!
Happy 2022
2:27 I'm surprised there is no crater from that impact. Guess Raven is that strong to tank the Pyrrha-Nora divebomb combo attack.
Eh, I don't even know what to say. The words aren't enough to express how I feel about this. This was awesome and it's shameful that we didn't get to see context for this fight.
Is this weird that I enjoyed this more than the actual show now ?
ALSO OMG 2:25 WHAT IS TUST TECHNIQUE ITS SO COOL!
I loved the hammer and nail Team attack and the references to other fight scenes. There was a lot of love put into this.
Amazing work! You have the passion of animation!
well done. nicely choreographed. the ending was hilarious! 😀
awesome job dude.
love how you actually did creative camera shots/angles, the characters individual fighting styles, and used the environment! it's not common at all to see those being used in rwby fan animations, which while understandable, kinda takes away from animations. they're huge staples of rwby fights, particularly in v1-v3 when monty was still around (and is generally a part of monty's style of animation as a whole, as seen in rvb and rwby, and even halo/metroid animation he did). i love it when specific fighting styles are added and the environment is used, because environment tends to be more of a background thing than something the characters can actually USE. camera shots/angles aren't very important aspects, but imo they add a lot to a fight, especially when done correctly. i love the little details in this animation, like ren losing his weapons, the teammates relying on each other, and also using their own weapons/fighting styles to boost the others (like that bit with pyrrha and nora). also actually remembering that raven's blades are made out of dust, and aren't just colored like that for no reason. and i think the characters personalities show a lot here! the interaction in the beginning screams rwby (would've thought so if it weren't for the background and pyrrha lol), not to mention how everyone moves. also i like that pyrrha seemed to sense something wrong before raven actually attacked, cause it reminded me of the beginning of v1, where pyrrha was explaining aura to jaune. there's so many little things animators don't usually take into account when doing fights, but i think this did it really well! obviously, it's not exactly like rwby, but it's pretty damn close in my opinion. this was super fun to watch!
After watching The Judgemental Critter's video on this, I can't look away.
Dang jiggle physics.
Thank you for creating this masterpiece
The hammer spin looked off at 1:40 and Ren felt underwhelming. Love the callback in Raven’s team slash.
I love everything about this! Please keep up the good work! Amazing video!
This deserves way more views
I love how the hair in this flows more naturally than it does in the actual show 😂
How have I only just discovered this - it's so beautifully done and the fight choreography is so perfectly "RWBY" - monty would be proud
Noone stood around *in the middle of combat* to talk! Exceptional work
The choreography, the animations, the voices, and the music! Everything about this is amazing! It really feels like a return to form.
what form?
Pyrrha's voice is a bit echoey but it was a good fight
The cut of raven vs phyrra and then ten and Jaune is extremely good keep it up, awesome fluidity
Thank u so much. I'm crying. I thought I would never see it again in this light.
low key got alot of potential i would love to see the adam vs raven fight keep up the good work tho cold as the ending song hurt
I’ve been thinking about Nora spinning the hammer on her neck non stop, so sick!
Amazing job!
I can't believe I'm just now seeing this!?! W animation and voice acting!!!
Team JNPR stood no Chance against Raven.
SMFH. >:(
@@madworldisrael7584 Still,They stood no Chance.
