Nadia Delmonte is right: to hear what is going on behind the scene, when a pattern is being created and tested, makes me appreciate more, when I use one. Thank you for sharing. 💕 Your Aros and Bonfire Sweaters are so very nice. Your programs are very sweet to watch.
Another excellent one. I concur that it is very interesting to hear the reality and challenges behind pattern designing and kinit testing. Very interesting. Thank you for taking the time ! 🦚🦚🦚🦚
You are very generous of your time, energy, advice, Emily. I hope life treats you well, in everything you undertake. Thank you for those wonderful videos.🤍🤍🦾🤍🤍
I so much admire your Aros Sweater. What a beautiful pattern, and you are making it like a pro. The color your chose is very suitable for the overall design and style. 💚🛌🛌💚
I agree with Gemma Cirigliano, that you are very generous in pour podcasts. And you pack it all in a short period of time. If I stand up to refill my cup of coffee, I miss a lot ! Very high quality podcast.
I reach for your podcasts when I want a nice quiet moment, in your knitting world. Today, here, I got a good infusion of that. 🌿🌿🌿 Thank you ! Excellent session.
To finish the Briggs & Little yarn story, it is 100 % wool yarn. It is not superwash. It is on the rustic side, so I would not wear it against skin. But it is sooooo squeeeshy ! So warm and comfortable, if worn over some other fabric ! Perfect for outdoor garment to go play in the snow. Perfect for winter sports in Nordic countries.
I agree with Lowri that your Jasmine colour Penguin Road yarn is quite a find. I will look for it. 🪢🪢🪢🪢 Your Mini Mock Nect tank is very interesting. Overall, an excellent podcast !
Just wanted to congratulate you on that Bonfire Sweater ! I appreciate the color work. You are talent, for knitting, troubleshooting problems, and making color matching decisions. I hope you can continue to podcast for as long a possible. 🛳🛳
You deserve praise for being so regular at sharing with us. You are very productive. I hope you have time enough to rest. What you are doing is very time consuming. 🦃🦃🦃 Thank you for everything you are doing. Take care.
Mudo Socks have a special charm. It is not a big scoop, many said it in this list of comments. The Broken Ribs Broken Records socks are also excellent 🐬🎵🐬 A very interesting podcast.
I am so drawn towards your Bonfire Sweater. To me it is a memory of how alpine skiing sweaters were made, when I was visiting my grandmother in the mountains of Val d'Aosta. People were wearing them to go skiing. Your Bonfire has a great match of colors. It is also very well finished. Brava ! 🎿🎿🎿
You caught my attention, Emily, all the way, but particularly so when you discussed the saddle shoulder design. That is a really great design. 🐈⬛🐈⬛❌❌🐈⬛🐈⬛ And thank you for including references about more size inclusive saddle shoulder patterns. Your videos are so well researched. You're the best !
You are beaming with joy, at presenting that Bonfire Sweater ! ! You are completely entitled to be happy, and the knit was made so fast ! ! You are very well versed at trouble shooting the choice of color. I say that because you encounter a block on the road: the colors of yarn you received by mail was not as you expected, and you very quickly found replacements in your own yarn reserve. Congratulations on your success on the whole challenge ! ! 🎋🎋
People call me 'The Yarn Crazy Woman", because I have an enormous stash. I can see that you also like the one from West Yorkshire Spinners and Drops. Bringing new yarn home is like bringing the promise of lots of possibilities, lots of dreaming. I thoroughly enjoy your videos, and you are a very accomplished knitter. 🦚🦚
I am having a good day : I found your channel. Watched many episodes now, and I see a constant effort to deliver quality and originality. You also keep the talking on the topic. Thank you ! 🪴🌿🪴
I used to watch your podcasts by looking over my friend's shoulder, what she was playing them on her laptop. Now I bring them on on my own computer. You deserve credit for your talent and hard work !!
I can't refrain from mentioning your yarn acquisition: Penguin Road in Jasmine colour. The speckles are brilliant. 💚 Thank you for describing how it is to do a knit testing. 🌳🐛🐛🌳
You are always welcome sharing what happens during a test knit: it is very interesting ! When we realize what's behind the scene, we appreciate more. The two colour versions of the Bonfire Sweater are equally beautiful ( lavender and goldenrod yellow ). Seeing the same project in many color helps the knitter in making color decisions. Your podcasts are so helpful !
Bonfire Sweater brings memories of our family vacations in the Alps. We were wearing those woolen garments for winter sports. My sisters and I were knitting in the evening, by the fireplace, cuddled in blankets, while the wind was hurling outside. Women in my family knit from generation to generation. ⛰🛷🛷🛷⛰ Your Bonfire is beautiful. I like the way you run your podcast. You are very comfortable in front of the camera.
It is always a good time to knit, especially in your company, Emily !! 🦎🦎 You make knitting accessible. Your presentation is very encouraging. 🦎🦎 Thank you very kindly.
So informative, your discussion of making a test knit! Most of us don’t know what there is, behind the scenes, about pattern designing. Your test knit sweater is beautiful. You had a lot of nerve, juggling the hurdles you encountered, to finish in time! There is more than meets the eye, in that word!
I agree with you, that heel flap and gusset is an excellent heel design. I enjoyed your discussion of the broken ribs broken records socks. Besides, I am intrigued by your Aros Sweater. Looking forward to watch your next sessions, to see how it progresses. I ENJOY your videos !!!!
Wow ! You bring so many important points about the planning of a projects, solving problems, etc. Your Bonfire Sweater is beautiful. I also like the golden yellow version, that you showed in cameo, briefly. It is the same pattern, just done with different colors. Both versions are excellent. Best wishes for everything .
" Oh ! No ! What a shame, she made her own sweater ! " ♦ That made me smile. Those who look down on someone for wearing a hand-made garment, too bad for them. But to be able to make clothing oneself is an accomplishment. I really liked that you made the tongue-in-cheek remark !!! ♦♥♦♥♦
Thank you for sharing the back scene situation, regarding knit testing. It helps me appreciate those patterns. Making that Bonfire Sweater was a feat of resourcefulness and determination. Thank you for also showing the Bonfire Sweater in gold - brown colors: a beautiful color option !
Very interesting podcast. I appreciate you taking the time to talk about how it goes when someone does a test knit. I did not know there was so much behind the scene, in pattern design. Good to know. I will appreciate more. I like your Aros Sweater. Thank you for all the attention you put into those videos !
It is amazing how you present so many great projects, and do get so much knitting done. I wish you the best. For example, I wish you can find and purchase all the beautiful yarn you dream of !!
I'm a fan ! 👕👕👕 It is interesting to learn what is going on when a pattern is being tested, before it is marketed. All your realizations are works of love and ingenuity.
Thank you for sharing your experience at test knitting. I really like your final result. It was very nice that you showed a photo of another color set, for the same pattern. That golden-brownish-yellow with orange and cream specimen is really really nice ! I enjoy learning how it works, behind the scenes ! `````````````````````` I admired the way the saddle shoulder is built, on the Aros sweater. You present everything so well. See you next time.
I knew that watching your podcast would be my reward at the end of this busy day at work, and it kept me motivated. 🦊🦊 Now I am indulging, relaxing, with a nice herbal tea, watching your presentation. Very good.
You have very solid foundations in knitting, Emily, since you can knit the Bonfire Sweater in so short a time ! And it looks so good. Your other works look very nice as well.
It is fun to hear you speak of how it is to be a knitter in Australia, who often watches podcasts made by people in the northern hemisphere ! ! Interesting, and exotic. I am trying to imagine. It must feel really strange to be in a season where it is above 30 degrees every day, while the Scandinavians, some Americans, some French and all Canadians are in the snow !! I like your perspective on it. Thank you.
I just had another one of those knitting breaks + watching your podcast, coming back from working night shift. You heal my heart so well, after hard work in difficult environment ! Like you, I like to do colour work.
My favorite knitting podcast. Because the projects are accessible, varied, and you give explanations that are so helpful. ♠ You are also very thoughtful about fixing mistakes. I especially like that you share about adjusting the many steps of the work, with the final 'wearable' result that you are aiming at. Knitting garments is far from a brainless endeavor !! ♠♠♠♠
I really like what you have done on the Aros Sweater. The yarn is very nice. I agree the saddle shoulder design is good ! That project is really going well. Thank you.
Thank you immensely for your valuable time given to us. You always are so enthusiastic and professional ! I benefited a lot from your advice regarding the saddle shoulder design and your approach to the Aros Sweater in general. You are really helping !
You are really gifted about making sweaters. Your Bonfire one is really full of charm ! Was interesting to hear of your experience at test knitting. Thank you .
Like the other viewers ( many commented on this ), I was very interested by you telling about your experience with a test knit. It is important that knitters appreciate what is hiding behind a pattern, in terms of work, from the designer and test knitters. Your final result is excellent !
I found very interesting that you shared about how it is to test a pattern. Your Bonfire Sweater is very well done. Good choice of colours, and good finishing ! Thank you.
I am new to your channel, but I am already a faithful listener ! 🌱🐮🌱 I like the tone of your talk, the calm and unassuming way you are discussing your projects. I have to mention that your Mini Mock Neck top is giving me an idea. I could use some left over yarn, and obtain a base garment to layer a shirt on. Congratulations for such a wonderful video !
Your Bonfire Sweater came out very nice ! I know from one of your other videos, that you also made the beanny ( tuque ) with the same color design. Too bad you can't go skiing or snow shoeing in Australia, as you now have proper outfit ! Your programs are always so interesting. I also enjoy your talk, how posed and well mannered you are.
Thank you Emily. Your whole series of videos is wonderful. 🥣🥣 I like your personal style, for doing them, very much. 🥣🥣 I started knitting the Aros Sweater. I'm a long way from finishing, but I love it already ! ! 🥣🥣
Like another viewer wrote, I hope you never lose your passion. I like your wooly projects, the Aros and the Bonfire Sweaters in particular. Keep doing such great work ! !
Watched the series of videos, and I am coming back to say : I wish you well in all the projects you undertake. I also hope it will become easier for you to get the quality yarn that you want to work with. I heard that quality natural fibers are harder to get for you, than acrylic. Getting yarn shipped from Europe has obvious down sides. I like your approach.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and positive attitude ! 🎫🎫 I'm just having an unusual idea: could you consider making a tutorial or a discussion about how you block your works, how you clean them ? With some comments comparing types of yarn, relative to maintenance, whether they change size or not with washing, how the colors change, or not, etc. That would be extremely useful. Thank you for your consideration. 🎫🎫🎫
For all types of fibres I will soak the finished project in warm water and wool wash for 20-30 minutes and lay flat to dry. Nothing fancy going on here! 😉
Yes, Emily, you can say it again ! And again ! There is nothing shameful to knitting something and wear it. I smiled at your comment : " Oh! No! What a shame, she made her own sweater ! " Ah! Ah! Being able to make something oneself, is actually an accomplishment. " Home-made - shaming " is very very distasteful. Bonfire Sweater is beautiful.
Really enjoying your podcasts. Just found you today & I’ve caught up. Nice to see a fellow Australian 😊. For non superwash yarns have a look at White Gum Wool in Tasmania. She really looks after her sheep & the yarn is so so soft.
As a knitter, I was very interested at your telling the tale of your test knit of the Bonfire Sweater. Very interesting. Now I appreciate more what people go through, behind the scene. Your final result is very beautiful. It was also useful to me that you showed the warm color version of the same sweater. Good to see different options, about color schemes. Excellent video !
I wish people would just stop harping on “size inclusivity”. If a designer wants to have their designs geared to a certain group then that is their choice. If that bothers someone then they don’t have to buy patterns from that designer. It is not like PK is the only designer. I don’t seem to hear people complaining about plus wear designer plans are not size inclusive. Not all patterns look good on all body sizes.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I believe the knitter gets to decide what “looks good” on their body and should have the choice, particularly when it comes to very popular designers. Unfortunately, smaller bodies are over represented in what many designers choose to grade for but I’m very happy to see this changing as knitters are speaking up :)
I agree with you, Deborah. It should be the prerogative of the designer to decide if he/she want the garment to target one type of shape or the other. Every style is not good for everyone. There is a limit to inclusiveness. It's like: not everyone can be an airline pilot. It is not a question of human rights. It is a question of common sense. Excellent video ! I like everything. 🥅🥅🥅🥅 It was fun to hear the story about how you found the Penguin Road Yarn in Jasmine color. I relate, about how happy I am when I find lovely yarn to bring home ! 😄 To quote you : " It was already a good afternoon, and it became 'such a great afternoon' ! ". Because the discovery of that yarn was not expected. Wonderful !!
Had a very pleasant time watching your video, at the garage ( they have sort of a lounge where clients can wait, seated comfortably, with TV and coffee machine ). I watched your presentation on my tablet, while knitting my portable project. It was perfect, both the watching and the knitting parts. 🫑🫑🫑 When they were done with my car, they said " sorry for the wait. ". But I said : " No problem, I was in good company ! ! Watching your show gives me encouragement to persist. One day I will make t-shirts and sweaters.

I found very interesting that you shared about how it is to test a pattern. Your Bonfire Sweater is very well done. Good choice of colours, and good finishing ! Thank you.
I really like your Bonfire Sweater & Bonfire Hat set! Love the color of your Mini Mock.
So happy with those!
Thank you for watching 🤎🤎 the mini mock neck is perfect as a warm base layer
Your Bonfire Sweater came out very nice ! I know from one of your other videos, that you also made the beanny ( tuque ) with the same color design. Too bad you can't go skiing or snow shoeing in Australia, as you now have proper outfit ! Your programs are always so interesting. I also enjoy your talk, how posed and well mannered you are.
It really would be a perfect ski outfit!
Thank you very much! The cost of postage is one of the very few downsides of living in Australia 🥲
I was looking at your dress and thought “damn, i wish that was a sewing pattern so i could make it” and the end of the video just made my day haha
It’s a great pattern ☺️ I definitely want to make a midi version too!
@@pepperknits just bought it! Definitely gonna make a top out of it because it is so cute!
Thank you, I have seen that in my local yarn shop so I will give it a go!

I agree with you, Deborah. It should be the prerogative of the designer to decide if he/she want the garment to target one type of shape or the other. Every style is not good for everyone.
