SVE Performance 8.8 Rear Axle Differential Cover
Add extra cooling and strength to your 1986-2014 Mustangs rear differential with SVE's 8.8 rear axle differential cover! Whether you are road racing, drag racing, or street cruising, this aluminum diff cover will decrease diff. fluid temperatures and add strength to your differential by reducing flex in the main bearings. When your differential bearings move this allows the ring and pinion to mesh incorrectly, which in turn, creates unwanted wear and can eventually lead to the infamous gear whine/failure. Tighten up the rear end and increase the life of your ring and pinion with SVE's 8.8 rear diff cover!
    Product Note
LMR recommends double-checking clearance between the diff cover and your spare tire location on 1986-2004 Mustangs when the suspension is fully compressed.
Fits behind Maximum Motorsports Panhard Bar on 86-98 Mustangs
Torque the load bolts to 5-10 ft./lbs. Excessive torque can damage the differential bearings! Torque the jam nuts to 25-30 ft./lbs.
Torque the girdle to axle housing bolts to 20-25 ft./lbs.
    Fitment Note
Will NOT fit Mustangs with Cobra IRS
    Application
Fits 1986-2014 Ford Mustangs with Ford 8.8" Straight Axle

You say to verify clearance for SN95, however, you don't provide how much clearance is needed. This would be a good to know piece of data since most won't have the cover in hand to do any clearance verification. Plus, I don't want to order the part then measure and have issues. It would be good to know before ordering the part. Thanks...

I completely understand where you're coming from. However, a general disclaimer for fitment is common practice. Especially when a part covers multiple generations and year ranges. I can provide some insight, though. If your car is lowered (not slammed) and doesn't have a pan hard bar, then this diff cover will fit without any issue. Hope this helps. -Landan

i bought one of these because of my fill plug being seized and wont budge so the fill plug on the cover was my goal, how many quarts should i fill through the fill plug on the cover? any ideas? until it pours out? the fill hole on the cover seems to sit higher that the factory fill plug hole

The 8.8 takes 1.87 quarts. You don't want to overfill it, so don't go off of the fill hole on the new cover. Fill it until you have a little fluid left in the second quart bottle. -Landan

What are the two bolts beside the SVE logo for?

The load bolts are designed to prevent bearing cap deflection under heavy loads. This feature is mostly beneficial in a racing setting. -Landan

I’ve read MM pan hard bar has fitment issues with some diff covers. Will this clear the MM pan hard bar on a fox body?
    Thanks.
