Say Alan, how do you think a Canon Clone Trooper would react to his Legends counterpart? Personally, I would think the Canon Clone is going to be horrified by his other self. Legends Clones didn’t really like the Jedi or the Republic, and they weren’t so hesitant in committing atrocities for the Empire. Meanwhile I think the Legends Clone would be disguised that his Canon counterpart liked the Jedi and was loyal to the Republic and that he needed an inhibitor chip to carry out Order 66. Having a name, new hair style, and painted armor might also irk the Legends guy. Maybe he would think the Canon Clones deserved to be tossed away by the Empire. Sure, the two have similarities such as both preferring to follow orders rather than disobey them and both initially were loyal to the Galactic Empire, but even then there are key differences. Push comes to shove, Canon Clone is more likely to disobey orders if necessary or if they go against the morals taught to him by the Jedi and Republic than his Legends counterpart. Also, a Canon Clone is going to view some things about the Empire as going backwards, like how he goes back to being called a number and has to get rid of his armor colors while the Legends Clone will see it as the galaxy finally advancing.
One interesting theory I've heard about this is that this is a collection of journals from a bunch of different clones collected and attributed to a single mythical soldier for Imperial propaganda, one thing used to support this theory is the fact that the journals cut off at the empires victory at Hoth and does not include the humiliating defeat of the battle of Endor
Once leaders and generals with wisdom (not from all generals) to give what is built for cannon fodder form of freedom and feel more valued than just a war machine, now designated as traitors and terrorists to a republic that once stood for over a thousand years side by side. Some of which could not control themselves, or was glad an order like so was initiated
10:22 With all due respect, it is mentioned earlier. Battle above Coruscant Clone Journals, he mentions the fact that a lot of ground based clones were pressed into service as pilots, how they had to clear the path to rescue the Chancellor, and how they are a bit miffed that the Jedi took all the credit for killing Count Dooku and saving the Chancellor when they did all the work.
I know the clones liked Anakin because he didn’t see them as equipment. He saw them as soldiers, comrades in arms. Cody got along with and respected Obi Wan because, if I’m not mistaken, you mentioned that Obi Wan would let Cody occasionally take charge if it was beyond his ability.
What I remember about the rise or the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars , the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all know what was about to happen what we were about to do. Did he have any doubts? Any Private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word Not the flight to Corsuant not when Order 66 came down and not when we marched into the the Jedi Temple. Not a word When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia Aalya Secure made a point of seeing us off personality calling us the brave soldier she had ever had It was a good thing we were wearing helmets because none of us could bear to look her in the eye
If you haven't seen it i HIGHLY recommend checking out the deleted kamino journal cutscene. It doesn't really add any new information but it's well written and raises up some of the horror of the situation. The one that's in the game and that you play in this video was mostly pieces taken from a kamino space map that they scrapped.
Odd that you intentionally chose to leave out the missions A Desperate Rescue (Coruscant Space) and First Line of Defense (Kashyyyk Space). Despite space missions being "optional", they _are_ official parts of the 501st Journal.
As I recall, the 501st in Battlefront 2 actually do manage to usher in their era of order and peace because, unlike in Episode 5, the mission in the game ends with the 501st successfully placing a beacon that lets the Imperial fleet in orbit bombard and destroy the last Rebel transport, the one carrying a lot of the leadership, before it can take off.
Its kind of ambigious. I always back in the day assumed it was alternative continuity, where rebellion is crushed, but then again, if we think Hoth as defeat for rebellion, it may just have seemed to soldiers of 501st that the rebellion had been finally crushed, while they had just been forced to temporary retreat. The transport might have been important, but not as important as the soldiers of 501st assume.
The last vessel didn't carry the rebel leadership, they had already gone and Mon Mothma wasn't even on Hoth. It's not an alternate continuity, the Empire's victory on Hoth just seemed like it was the end of the rebellion from their POV.
When RotS was young I read an interview (that I wish I had kept) in which Lucas was asked "were the clones somehow forced to follow order 66" the answer was "No. Their soldiers and soldiers follow orders". This is what the authors that essentialy created the clones lore were operating on, all the comics, novels and games were made with this idea of the clones in mind. Before the dark times, before Disney.
Perhaps some of clones serve as instructors or soldiers for the Rebel Alliance. I know Rex, Wolf and Gregor are there in “Canon”. Able served in the Alliance Intelligence Corps after being mistaken as a trap by an Imperial officer in Legends.
Wouldn't surprise me if former clone troopers were the first generation of rebel Agents and leaders also would make sense if it was clones that trained the first rebel armed forces personal@@RRaptor86
5:18 this was my thinking too even with the inhibitors chips in place that didn’t change the option of the clones, most of the Jedi had no reason to have been given the commands they had they didn’t earn them and they definitely weren’t read for such responsible, most Jedi saw the clones as a disposable resource not people there was only a few commanders that had the respect of the clones they commanded(Ashoka, Anakin, Obi-wan, Yoda and maybe like a dozen or so others) I mean Anakin may have been of the mindset of CHARGE!!! But he wouldn’t put his clones into a situation he wasn’t willing to be in and he would listen when they reminded him that “”that’s all well and good sir but we’re not Jedi, we can’t deflect blaster bolts we just have to hope our armor takes enough of the hit that we can survive it.”” A lot of the Jedi used the clones as cover to hide behind. It’s no wonder most clones didn’t like the Jedi (and that not counting the mandalorion DNA).
As of the time of this video, on the Remastered Battlefront 2 The Rise of the Empire campaign is bugged to not play cutscenes after a mission, so we only have half the journal. Criminal
It was working fine for me last night thankfully. I wonder if the fixed it quickly or if it's on a case by case basis. I can't play bf1 because of the awful loading screen sound though
Generation tech tackling my childhood memories is something i never knew i needed and im ALL for it. Officially my favorite RUclips channel of all time
I'm torn about the inhibitor chips. I like them because just like you said it makes them victims with most clones not wanting to carry out the orders and being completely forced by the chip and later showing signs of regret, it turns them into such tragic figures to see them slowly being replaced and forgotten in an ungrateful galaxy. At the same time i like the idea of them willingly carrying out order 66 as it adds realism to it, the clones may have been bred for war, but they were still human, still had emotions and still formed bonds especially with their fellow clone brothers. So to see their brothers die day in day out especially under the command of uncaring or incompetent jedi would obviously lead to a lot of resentment, however the legends stories abiut the clones who remained loyal to the jedi and helped them during 66 are also amazing as it shows that clones were still individuals and that not all clones and jedi were the same as with most of these stories it involves a very caring and compassionate jedi who truly cared about the clones under their command and earned their loyalty despite order 66
This iteration of Order 66 is interesting. The narrating clone’s disfavor of the Jedi and emotional detachment when executing the order. Closest thing to empathy being hoping for a quick death for Aayla Secura because she helped them get through Felucia. His personality much more mirroring Jango Fett
It's a strange "else world" kind of story where the clones somehow know they are going to execute order 66 ahead of time. That's not how it was in regular Legends and obviously not Canon either
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 Yeah, in regular legends they absolutely knew about Order 66 but not necessarily that it was the plan. It was in the contingency orders training manual alongside every other order, and it seems like this was written to assume that the clones wanted to initial Order 66. Also it's funny to me that Order 65 is even the opposite order, removing the Chancellor for the security of the Republic.
IN a strange way, I am glad this is not the true telling. I do love it, but, the story that TCW gives me personally makes it that the clones would almost NEVER just follow through 66. I mean, I guess I could see it happening but. Nah. Over the years i def have learn to, at least, accept the chip canon
This was truly a dope video. The transitions from video game to commentary was seamless. It makes me want to play the game or watch it be played. One wonders, what if they kept the Clones the way they where in the game instead of the way they where on the series?
I always love the story these journals told us. I strongly prefer this version of the clones rather than them all being implanted with a chip to mind control them. Would have made the choices made by the clones who chose to stay loyal to their jedi generals much more impactful. Every clone would have made their choice on which side to fight for. If only it could be the true canon. I will always love the 501st Journals.
@@CedarHuntthe chip was before the aquisition. Also keep in mind that it is the POV of a Clone After that all happened. so chip can still be canon in the journels. The lack of information doesnt make it untrue/not canon.
We don't know that EVERY clone had a chip, we know that many did. It is possible that the chips were not stable enough or too costly for widespread rollout, so they were saved for leadership and clones with assignments that would place them in close proximity to Jedi. We know Fives, Rex, Tup, and a few more had chips, but all of those clones are special in that they spend lots of time near their jedi commanders. We never see a random white armor clone with a confirmed inhibitor chip
My headcanon is that Operation Knightfall was still done with de-activated chips to ensure the success of the operation... Palpatine couldn't trust such an important task to a bunch of brainwashed kids, he needed them in a clear and level-headed state of mind so they could predict/adapt to any possible tricks or attacks the Jedi might launch/attempt. The reason we don't hear about it is simply because Rex wasn't there, and anybody else who would've been either isn't important to the canon yet, or just hasn't said anything(for obvious reasons)
No thoughts on the space battle narrations? The clone does refer to Anakin and Obi Wan's entrance to the Invisible Hand in the Space Courscant mission ending. Oh and the cut content from the actual Kamino narration gives more depth on how the 501st Clones really felt on their mission to Kamino. The one used in game was for Space Kamino that was cut before the game released.
For the reasoning of the clones to execute Order 66, my head canon is that it is a combination. Now, we have the inhibitor chips, but having a clone army super loyal to Palpatine with clones fed up with Jedi make sense. All clones having a default to execute the Jedi when the order came in from Palpatine. But where Commanders Bly and Cody went "good soldiers follow orders," clones under Pong Krell and Ki Adi Mundi might have went "DIE JEDI!"
Clones in EU Legends: *respected and revered in The Empire as war veterans and serve as core of the Stormtrooper Corps whilst slowly phased out until minority of them remain* Clones in Disney: *immediately thrown away and replaced as soon as possible after the war is over*
@@kappakiev9672yeah, as much as I like the EU’s clone transition, Palpatine just tossing them away seems more like him. Similar to what he did with Maul, Dooku, and Vader
Plus he needs to hide any evidence of the inhibitor chips, and clones wouldn't be loyal to the republic for very long since they served with the jedi and have more democratic values.
I mean it makes less sense because Palpatine's rule was just started and he needed time to stabilise. So I'm not sure kicking your war veterans to the curb was the best image for him. Not to mention unless he kills them all, which he doesn't do, they should have become rebels. I know rex and a few others did, but there should have been way more clones in the rebellion. Or at least early on. Imagine having clones be the ones to teach the early rebels how to git and run, and fight the empire. @@kappakiev9672
@@TrueArt_1 It doesn’t make any sense though, because while Palpatine was evil he wasn’t stupid. Throwing away a ready, battle hardened army that not only won you the war but also is bio-conditioned to obey your every will, in favor of random human recruits is incredibly stupid. Disney went with it because they wanted to retain the clones as “the good guys” even though they were the ones that killed the Jedi, destroyed the Republic and brought about the Empire.
What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi temple. Not a word.
I'm currently rewatching the clone wars and just finished the umbara arc. Am I the only one that found it incredibly frustrating that there's no satisfying conclusion to that story? The fact that the clones massacre each other, losing a recognisable character in Waxer in the process, no characters seem to acknowledge the incident. What did Anakin, Obi wan or Cody think of what happened to their men? We never hear what happens to Dogma surely there was a trial? What did the Jedi Council make of Pong Krells turn? I find it frustrating every time I watch 😂 is there any lore out there that ties this story up?
I don't think there were really any discrepancies. In it even Kiadi Mundi working with the 501st he does mention they are on a unique mission as opposed to the other clones he was usually working with.
Ending of the Journal - Final orders of the 501st to guard the shield generator of the Second Death Star. What a simple mission before retirement...Oh look Ewoks with sticks, what can they - Journal found among the corpses
The original concept of the Clones following the established orders like 66 would make them more difficult to understand for casual viewers. It would make more realistic stories though, as it says that the Clones were loyal to the idea of the Republic first and foremost.
4:00 Which is why only a special detachment were sent to grab the crystal, they weren't fighting the whole battle, it was smash and grab operation, nothing more.
Strange that the story never made it towards Endor, was it that Hoth ended with the Empire destroying the Falcon in an alternative timeline or was it that the journals from Endor went unrecovered?
Many people see it as Imperial propaganda, because of time inconsistency (it can be explained as COLLECTIVE 501st journal, but it really feels like one clone's journal) and afformentioned by you cut after Hoth.
@@luisemoralesfalcon4716 It's not imperial propaganda. This took place in Legends/EU where smaller detachments of the 501st were sent across the different worlds
Interesting video to Drop on the Ides of March, especially with the Kamino Clone Uprising plot point! Thank you for the trip down memory lane! I Am most certainly retaining the Lucas Canon in my HeadCanon - i don't take orders from rodents with Delusions of grandeur. Though i may be making a 2' tall skaven Inquisitor named M'Qee Maus... Love how the Views & Likes counters keep climbing!
Interestingly enough, the comment that after the Kamino Incident that a variety of soldiers were used as templates for cloning ties in nicely with the later Thrawn Trilogy. Since Thrawn used a variety of personell to clone to fill his ranks, its suggest that either this was the moment he decided to do so or he used the then in place new modus operandi of the empire for cloning.
@@Taron_HaiTar no it’s a combination of both helmets, look at the little vents of both side, and the storm trooper aspect of the helmet result in it being a lot shorter and wider
I like the old video game lore better The clones werent good or bad but genetically engineered for an evil purpose and loyal to the end, the fact the template was from an elite bounty hunter and not from an elite soldier should have been clue the clone army were assassins deep down.
Before people start making a debate about if chip or no chip. and what is better. keep in mind the journels were written from a Soldier after all went down. So both are still possible.
I like the head cannon that this is just propaganda put out by the empire after Hoth. Even at the time the game released, the timeliness just didn't work. Citizens wouldn't know that and could have been swayed away from the rebellion, thinking they may have to fight the battle hardened 501st.
I remember queuing outside GameStop for the midnight release of BF2. I’d convinced my mum to let me play sick from school the next day. Literally a core memory and nothing will ever tarnish it.
Alan I love you bro, but the "Galactic Flame Lightsaber" isn't something OwnAsaber came up with. That particular honour goes to the Hacksmith, who calls it the "Mini Saber MK2" and it's basically a scaled down version of his real life (functional) Protosaber.
:39 Honestly both can be true the advage Clone was most loyal to the Senate I mean Palptine as they never saw what the Republic really was beyond the GAR.... Also remember if that Clone was not proganda this was post Order 66 and like wolf this guy still had after effects of the chip especly since he apantly fought all the way to Hoth so his chip was likely still very active like those of the clones in the new vader comics.
For me it was I teresting to still see Wolfe commanding a sizable amount of clones in the latest episodes so it seem that the clones aren’t fully phased out until later. I believe that a sizable amount of clones are loyal to the empire
Even though the bad batch took some very good lore I really liked the last episodes where it seems that Wolffe’s clone strike force don’t have their inhibitor chips any more yet they are both loyal to their brothers and to the empire
I played battlefront with my family, we all had our own PS rigs and almost tanked the internet connection doing it BUT IT WAS EPIC and yeah my children can still own y’all hands down
I prefer the canon sequence of events for reasons explained in the bit about the tv show humanizing the Clones but the 501st Journal will always be one of my favorite parts of Star Wars entirely due to Temuera Morrison's legendary narration. Particularly for Operation: Knightfall.
Meh to each there own but the OG clones are the ones not held down by their emotions and do their orders by the letter because I think the point of clones vs droids is property vs property because the clones were just that sadly
I don't have my hopes up to ever find out but I was always curious on what happened to commander Bly after the clone wars. I'm sure he stayed in the empire but idk I always was a small fan of his.
I remember playing Battlefront to for like 8 hours straight one day as a kid. On an PS2. Because I was off school sick and my parents let me hook it up to the TV in their room. I think this was during a time when in Canon Anakin was an assistant or junior commander with in Obi Wan's forces. And the 501st was more like... I guess an official regiment of the chancellor? Sent in to conflicts where the chancellor had an interest, weather it was Mygeeto to collect something for him. Or maybe Felecia when he had gotten fed up of a stalled conflict. I think its in one of the Replublic Commando books where its mentioned that the 501st is also mostly made up of the 'Spartii 2 Clones' Just in time for the end of the war and Order 66 and was only given to Anakin to command during operation knightfall and after.
Largely because of this story, and the fact that it's the version I grew up with, I've always struggled with the idea of an inhibitor chip retcon. The original idea being that they are just fully loyal and will follow any order without question always seemed really interesting to me. Order 66 being activated by a verbal order doesn't make a lot of sense with an inhibitor chip, when it could just have easily have been a switch that gets flipped, but instead is a command from the very top of the power structure that cannot be refused.
Back then, I didn't really like the whole "Clones chose to kill Jedi" thing because of how uniform it seemed. Some clones would stand and fight with the Jedi surely, or warn them, or just refuse. It should have been a clone civil war. I remember thinking maybe it was pre-programmed into them somehow and the Clone Wars TV show then made that the official explanation and I was satisfied. Plus the Empire needed to be all clones of one type or another because we couldn't conceive of everyday average people willfully taking part in such a thing. But now, after seeing how political indoctrination of many different kinds can drive otherwise decent people to do some crazy things, I feel like the story of the clones getting fed up with terrible leadership and manipulated by nefarious political forces into a coup would be a more relevant story for the present time that we wouldn't have fully understood before the proliferation of social media and always-on internet connective devices that make that kind of thing more of a reality than 20 years ago.
Yeah, they could refuse, and a good few didn't believe it, but few would actually rebel over something like that. They were raised from birth to be loyal to the Republic over everything
If no clones are left in the imperial army doesn’t that make a canonical error with the book Tarkin? Or is Tarkin not canon? It’s referenced quite a bit in the canon Thrawn trilogy
Filoni's content has tons of canonical errors. And rather just admitting that, people who like him claim that he is just retconning those stories, which isn't actually possible since a tier system doesn't exist in canon, all canon works are technically on the same footing. Since his replacements tend to just be worse lore, I just ignore what his shows say. TBB's lore is not better than the lore of the Thrawn and Tarkin novels, nor is it better than the Kanan comics, so it doesn't deserve people claiming that it has 'retconned' any of those things.
@@tk-6967 I mean i was pointing out more that just because Filoni doesn’t specifically show CTs in Vadar’s fist doesn’t mean they weren’t there. Vadar is in what a handful of rebels episodes? I don’t think we ever specifically see his troops go helmetless. I don’t think the lore from the Tarkin Novel and and BB clash at all I just think Alan forgot some lore lol
@@jimcramersnaked3125 Vader's Fist doesn't exist in Canon until long after the Tarkin novel. Vader uses the 1st Legion as his own personal unit for most of the Imperial era according to the Thrawn novels, he meets the 501st by happenstance at an unconfirmed point closer to Rogue One/Episode 4. The 501st was also confirmed not to be clone-only unit in Canon ages ago, and even in the EU, it is a common misconception that they were, but in fact after the destruction of the DS1, the 501st started using recruits as well. We only meet 1 clone serving the Empire in the Tarkin novel. The contradiction is of course Tarkin's explanation for what happened to the clones. It was their advanced ageing that left clones a rare sight in the Imperial military, and Tarkin clearly had nothing to do with the decommissioning of the Kamino facilities. Not only that, but from a simple lore point of view, Tarkin's involvement in TBB is complete nonsense. Tarkin was a naval admiral turned Moff at the time of the show, and yet they portray him as having a similar level of authority to what he had in Rebels. He doesn't have the authority to give orders to people like Rampart, or Hemlock, and he certainly didn't have time to be dealing with clone stuff when a ton of stuff relating to the Death Star was happening at the same time. Also, Tarkin showing up literally a couple of minutes after the end of the war to discuss the need for future clones with Lama Su is the most cartoony bs I've ever heard. Filoni seems to think that the war ending meant that everything went full Empire (and somehow worse). There is a ton of other lore inconsistencies but I don't want to make this huge comment any longer than it already is.
Never played bf2 but I want to but man this is painful for those of us that love the 501st. I'm really liking the clone rebellion starting up in Bad Batch to me that's definitely what they would do once they figured 66 out
HELP. My hubs and I want to splitscreen local play on our XBox Series X. However, when we try, it asks player 2 to plug a controller into a port. The controllers are wireless, but the game does not recognize that Player 2's controller is powered on. Has anyone successfully played local splitscreen on the classic collection? If so, how?
8:05 Droids also have emotions lol. Why does everyone always say that clones aren't just organic droids when droids are literally sentient and the only difference between them and the clones is that the clones are organics and are less brainwashed/controlled than the droids?
Only thing i find rather sad is that the ending cut scene meant to play after you win the space battle of Kashyyyk doesn't exist at least for me it didn't.
I miss a lot of the old canon yet the new stuff is fine mostly, Filoni and others taking from Legends means some of the coolest things just need a bit of time to come back.
Uh, oh.. An honest and reasonable opinion. I agree with you and some of the canon materials are superior (imho). But, you open yourself up for savagery from gatekeepers and less cultured types. May the Force be with you...

@@supremefankai5480 I understand. I am almost 55 and have been around from the beginning. I have my opinions on it all, but love that it all exists and continues.
Yeah I really can't understand what they were thinking with the battlefront and part 2 remakes, maybe part 1 would have been understandable since it had been years between games, but by the part 2 remake they should have learned their lesson. They should have kept the Iden Versio campaign, it's good, but they absolutely could have fit a redo of the original 2005 BF2 campaign. Then they left out Mace Windu even though he was one of the most popular heroes in part 1. Then they screwed up space battles, the entire thing that made those missions fun was the idea of having to destroy your enemy's command ship by either direct damage to the various key points on the outside or by infiltrating the enemy ship and sabotaging it from the inside. Then the two biggest sins they committed... First they took away our playlist feature, that was easily one of the more fun aspects for me as a kid, lining up like 5-10 missions with a theme, it was like putting together our own little mini campaign. Then finally the removal of galactic conquest... I just... Man it's not fair.
I think for me the reason I'll always hate the inhibitor chips is the fact that it makes the clones betrayal so much less tangible and applicable to real life commentary then the idea of a person so heavily indoctrinated by they're upbringing that before they can even think they've shot one of their closest comrades in the back simply because of an order from higher command and having to live with the consequences of having done that for the rest of their life as opposed to just losing control of they're body for a few minutes in which time their body does something horrific but they don't
It’s much more tragic though and has its own commentary that those in power don’t always have the people’s best interest in mind and will use those below them to further their ends before ultimately sacrificing them to attain even greater power
Hey Alan. I wanted to share that I think I might of found a sneaky Easter egg in episode 7. About 10:30 in give or take a couple seconds. The troops are moving through a forest and 1 big tree, had the resemblance of a defeated Groot from marvel, on the right side trunk. Of the said big tree. It'd be cool to confirm if it's there, or if I'm just trippin 😂.

When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia Aalya Secure made a point of seeing us off personality calling us the brave soldier she had ever had It was a good thing we were wearing helmets because none of us could bear to look her in the eye
12:00 "well above their pay grade"
What pay? 😅😂😅😂
They’re being played in exposure
I always loved the soldiers POV in star wars, it's so refreshing compared to the more lofty view most media take
As I recall, the 501st in Battlefront 2 actually do manage to usher in their era of order and peace because, unlike in Episode 5, the mission in the game ends with the 501st successfully placing a beacon that lets the Imperial fleet in orbit bombard and destroy the last Rebel transport, the one carrying a lot of the leadership, before it can take off.
I’m just hoping the bad batch has reference to that Kamino clone rebellion.
“Officially there was no clone uprising on Tantiss”
Hope they can still do it with the episodes we have left...
That would be a nice callback
@@neofulcrum5013 Yea, it really would! And it would fit, because we already have some callbacks to previos Clone Wars games!

How are they not victims without the chips? They are slave soldiers who underwent extreme conditioning.
I love that game with all my heart. I even have that journal memorised, I recite it to myself while doing anything boring
It is the true canon. Disney canon is the bootleg stuff.
FOR THE REPUBLIC!
Clones in EU Legends: *respected and revered in The Empire as war veterans and serve as core of the Stormtrooper Corps whilst slowly phased out until minority of them remain*
Clones in Disney: *immediately thrown away and replaced as soon as possible after the war is over*
IMO Disney’s take sounds more like how the Empire would treat its people in the long run
We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi temple. Not a word.
the story had me in tears as a 13 year old
my heart broke for the clones notnto operation knightfall about killed me in both III and battlefront ii
The clone troopers have completely lost their original meaning that they had in the prequels.
I don't think there were really any discrepancies. In it even Kiadi Mundi working with the 501st he does mention they are on a unique mission as opposed to the other clones he was usually working with.
Very interesting alternative story. Thanks for the video.

That thumbnail helmet is sick, stormtrooper x phase 2 clone

@@Taron_HaiTar no it’s a combination of both helmets, look at the little vents of both side, and the storm trooper aspect of the helmet result in it being a lot shorter and wider

I hate, HATE the inhibitor chip explanation. It’s such a fucking cop out
The 501st mission files are more canon than anything Disney will ever make in the entire franchise.
I like the old video game lore better
The clones werent good or bad but genetically engineered for an evil purpose and loyal to the end, the fact the template was from an elite bounty hunter and not from an elite soldier should have been clue the clone army were assassins deep down.

Even though the bad batch took some very good lore I really liked the last episodes where it seems that Wolffe’s clone strike force don’t have their inhibitor chips any more yet they are both loyal to their brothers and to the empire
one thing i find interesting is that Ayla is referred to as Commander in the 501st Journal and not General
Temura Morrison is so badass
imagine serving in Felucia and thinking, "that wasn't fun" and boom Umbara a year later.
Prefer the Battlefront 2 story over the modern one.
It’s way way better
The OGs are superior, I definitely prefer them over garbage reboots.
Nah... I like both.

8:05 Droids also have emotions lol. Why does everyone always say that clones aren't just organic droids when droids are literally sentient and the only difference between them and the clones is that the clones are organics and are less brainwashed/controlled than the droids?

Leave it to me to nitpick phrasing in this clone journal but how would they know about the term "Machiavellian" if they're from a galaxy far far away?
I miss a lot of the old canon yet the new stuff is fine mostly, Filoni and others taking from Legends means some of the coolest things just need a bit of time to come back.

Why did you cut out the space battles?

It’s such a same that fans nowadays don’t know about this and only about the garbage bad batch one
Anything is better than the inhibitor chip plot
It didn't even have to be an inhibitor chip. It could just be indoctrination. Like child soldiers.
