If only we could! There's obviously the odd episode available here and there because they were released on DVDs etc but nothing substantial to do monthly omnibuses like this. We have to start from April '76 (Elsie Tanner's return) as that was the starting point for Granada Plus when they started showing repeats in the 90s.
As annoying as she often was, Mavis was a star this month. She was justifiably worried about Rita's disappearance when others dismissed her concerns. She knew her best friend better than anyone else and displayed great loyalty.
The supermarket scenes were filmed at the old Morrisons supermarket in Eccles Town Centre, Greater Manchester...They stopped filming there when Sunday trading came in to being... That store has long gone now...

Start planning a breakout Alan! Ask the custody Sgt for a spoon, make a dummy head from copies of the Weatherfield Recorder, write to Ivy and ask her to make a raincoat.
2:16:54 for many it goes a miss but the gentleman sat on the sofa talking to mike... the actor would 10 years or more later go on to play neil grailing governor of G wing at larkhall prison ( the tv show bad girls). i wonder if anyone else has figured out its him.
Dawn's brother tricked Mike into buying the property. Buying it sent Mike into major financial difficulties. It wasn't worth anything. On top of that, Dawn's Brother was the actual owner. So, he really got one over on Mike. Mike accused Dawn of being in on the scheme to trick him into buying the property. I think that was the end of their relationship. Anyway, years go by, Mike is on his uppers, when he gets a letter from Spain telling him his land is worth a packet.
It’s not difficult to appreciate why Sherlock Holmes had such a low opinion of the police when watching the Alan Bradley storyline. How much more cavalier could they be?! I know it’s all fiction and the writers’ intention was to manipulate viewers. It was so very well written and far superior to Richard Hillman, Geoff Metcalfe and Pat Phelan in later years. It didn’t drag on. Excellent drama.
The smug smirk was well and truly wiped off Mike’s face! 😆 Maybe he could have followed Robert’s suggestion and dug for oil, reopen the petrol station - £££!
I really don’t buy that Mike would be that stupid to not do his homework on this land in Spain.. just doesn’t seem plausible to be, considering what a shrewd businessman he supposedly is
Agreed, totally out of character. Mike is a schrewed businessman and would have gone through this deal with a fine tooth comb. Mike would have found out who owned the land through contacts and when he found out the obvious he would have pushed for a false interest in the land around the petrol station...and so on and so on. This is what I meant about some of the characters being out of character. Mike just sold his factory as a going concern. Jones knew this and still bought it like a mug! Mike is not only schrewed but a bloody genius.
Nah, the male ego is far mightier than you might think. The likes of Mike Baldwin only ever think of one upmanship, his main problem was he was used to lording it over women in his factory and sucking up to other business owners like himself in clinching deals. He just wasn't savvy enough to realise he was being played by a con man, and imo he got his just desserts.
Mike wasn’t as savvy as he thought he was. His business ‘skills’ were dodging and diving in the rag trade, he wasn’t all that good at that either. As Robert says, Mike got out of his league and his own arrogance caught him out. Remember that he was sitting on all that cash because he sold the factory site to Maurice Jones - the business itself was only just breaking even by 1989.

No she hates when you talk about this cos what she really wants is to go out or go to bed or do the hoovering etc 😂
@@MarcoNegrisEye do the hoovering wtf 😂
@@HelloImNik anything mundane really 😜

RIP Mark Eden
Surely the police would have a photo of Rita without asking Mavis to come down to the morgue to identify a woman found in a derelict house.
One word immediately springs to mind with the Rovers Return football team kit - it rhymes with ‘lit’
😂
I guess Rita will eventually learn to ask who is it before she opens the door 😮
Yeah, I thought that was odd ~ could jave put a spy hole in door.
Superb these please keep them coming. Are you going to do the oldest I.e the 1960s
If only we could! There's obviously the odd episode available here and there because they were released on DVDs etc but nothing substantial to do monthly omnibuses like this. We have to start from April '76 (Elsie Tanner's return) as that was the starting point for Granada Plus when they started showing repeats in the 90s.
Alan Bradley = expert gaslighter.
I can't stand Audrey, a year ago she was sleeping on her daughters couch, now she has a nice home on Coronation street and it's still not enough
As annoying as she often was, Mavis was a star this month. She was justifiably worried about Rita's disappearance when others dismissed her concerns. She knew her best friend better than anyone else and displayed great loyalty.
True, although Ivealways wondered what drugs Mavis was on.... 😳
👏👍📺🇦🇺🍻
Rita And Mavis a great combo Rita's deadpan humour going over Mavis head is classic stuff of
there era in the Cabin
Alec: “Smug little swines!” 😂
Must have been strange for ‘Bradley’ doing scenes with ‘ Audrey’ , his real life partner 😳😏
Alec:” you wanted guts...you got em! “ 😆
Great to see someone wipe the smile off Baldwins face
I agree. Mike Baldwin most probably pocketed his employees pension funds without them knowing.
Wonder how they got all the props for the supermarket
I thought that too, it’s a big set to create if it wasn’t a genuine supermarket!
Empty packaging. Sponsorship deals for donations to set decoration.
The supermarket scenes were filmed at the old Morrisons supermarket in Eccles Town Centre, Greater Manchester...They stopped filming there when Sunday trading came in to being...
That store has long gone now...
Audrey is totally selfish and ungrateful.
She should grow up and be grateful that she has a place to stay at all. She barely had a pot to wee in when her boyfriends tired of her. I’m so glad he didn’t leave any insurance for her when he died.
Jenny - Stockholm Syndrome/cult mentality - "he really cares about you, Rita..." 😳
I literally can not stand that Jenny Bradley! Grrrrr!
Just thinking that myself, her ridiculous tirades in defence of her Dad are ever so slightly painful to watch lol
Don't worry ,she is just playing a part🤭🙄
@irenemorley75 she’s not is she? And there’s me thinking it was a fly on the wall documentary.. 😉
When corrie was worth watching. 😉😚😉
How could they let Bradley back in the Rovers ?
@disrantrambler to err is human, to forgive divine 😉
It's in the script lovey🤔🤭🙄
@@irenemorley75 oh you are so witty lovey...
@EveHenleySpread What?
@@irenemorley75 are you the original naaaaaasty gurl?
“It’ll be a gang of perverts” haha love Phyllis
Well Jenny is back & sure is making herself comfy in Rita’s house.
She has no place there, they way she treats Rita.
3:06:17 Mike When He Catches Ken... lol
Thank you! That was hilarious 😂
You need security cameras
Start planning a breakout Alan! Ask the custody Sgt for a spoon, make a dummy head from copies of the Weatherfield Recorder, write to Ivy and ask her to make a raincoat.
2:16:54 for many it goes a miss but the gentleman sat on the sofa talking to mike... the actor would 10 years or more later go on to play neil grailing governor of G wing at larkhall prison ( the tv show bad girls). i wonder if anyone else has figured out its him.
Go on Phyllis!! Getting involved in the Rovers brawl 😂
I can’t seem to watch it
That's strange, it's playing okay for me on a few different devices.
@@EveHenleySpread it’s ok now must’ve been a glitch
Was any further info given about this piece of land that Mike bought?
I think a couple of years later,he had a buyer for it and think that funded him opening a new factory..... I think.
Yep as Pete says, keep watching.. in typical Baldwin fashion he gets lucky when it turns out to be worth a packet.
@@ddrose06 So Robert’s ‘advice’ was worthwhile after all.
@@EveHenleySpread That is typical Baldwin to float back to the surface. It is satisfying to see Robert own him.
I love Mavis and Derek.
They are hilarious, it's a pity Derek was written out of the show in 1997 and Mavis left the street soon after.
I'd like to know what drugs Mavis was on!
Thelma quit because they wrote Derek out.
Bit of trivia ~ Granada also had a full scale Baker Street with 221B - Sherlock's flat!
What on earth is Dawn doing to that poor green pepper??
The smug smirk was well and truly wiped off Mike’s face! 😆 Maybe he could have followed Robert’s suggestion and dug for oil, reopen the petrol station - £££!
Lies pouring out of ken's mouth like bog water.
Percy says so. LOL
T🧐🤩T H🧐IS
Dawn could have been a character reference about Alan
I really don’t buy that Mike would be that stupid to not do his homework on this land in Spain.. just doesn’t seem plausible to be, considering what a shrewd businessman he supposedly is
Yes I was thinking that but it was good for a change to see him loose a few pound. I miss his dad
@@dementednun1175 Spain does have some mad upside down, backtofront laws.
Alec could have bought his lads a better football kit than that!
Gonna keep an eye out for jim. See when he starts his... so it is catch phrase.
Getting ridiculous now. 1hr 9 min Rita opens the door without checking yet again.
1:05:45 Well if you don’t like living there you know where the door is use it! Ungrateful brat. I like Jenny now but in the old episodes she was just a annoying little brat. Why Rita put up with it is beyond me
Because she's weak, and doesn't want to live on her own! That was why she went back to Len!
2:39:59 is hilarious ! I like Gazza, I think he'd have made a good regular character
Didn't th3y have fingerprinting back then?
Kimberly and Curly. Its meant to be❤😂
You buy land without knowing the name of the land owner?
Deirdre was lovely to Maevis
I had a boss like alex he got his just reward in the end 😊 ( tyrant)
