thats why i started building my own trucks a long time ago. there are still ways to side step all the bull schite... obviously going out a buying a brand new truck and side stepping is not an option for most because they have regular inspection, for others the truck is under a car note for 10 years therefore not privately owned. if you start with something that falls outside the requirements you can put whatever you want how ever you want, under the hood. Commiefornia falls completely outside these possibilities because the citizens have voted to be ruled OVER and not represented.

Diesel Podcast subscribers I need to vent a bit.
I grew up in a state that was the “birthplace” of hot rods, NHRA and so many other cool things centered around the vehicle. At 15 I remember this same state implementing its first emissions test. Luckily for me I drove a vehicle that was pre 1976 or what ever year the cut off was for the test.
Today at almost 55 years of age today I would have never guessed that “simple” emissions test along with California’s own CARB would snowball into what it has become today with all its strength, influence, power added to the EPA’s reach.
From restrictions on certain aftermarket parts being ordered/shipped to my home (state) to the recent emissions recall notice I received from Ram, it’s my belief, this all goes back to that “simple” test back in 1984!!! This unfortunately reaches the motorcycle community or virtually anything with a fuel burning engine that’s sold to the public.
    Why am I saying this?
Well as I said I wanted to vent but also (and maybe I late to the party) but I wanted this to hopefully be a lesson/warning for all those out there in other states.
But also I say this because it’s my belief that restrictions like this stymie growth and innovation at the grassroots level. Especially for garage guys like myself who love to tinker and pass down some things to his kids.
    ✌🏽🇺🇸🙏

Keep your oil clean, and air cleaner too !

Literally, people are still getting tickets in places that are emissions tickets, for not keeping a car stock. Yet the emissions on the car are better than what stock emissions are required to be.
From what I've seen, people are under the impression that if a car is "modified," then somehow what comes out of the exhaust is worse than what it otherwise would be. And this is not the case.

If you study Ideal gas law at atmospheres absolute you can easily disprove climate change narratives in relation to specific element CO2. Their physics of time, temperature and pressure dose not correlate with physics or Ideal Gas Laws. The base line coefficient of CO2 condensates at, 800 PSI @ room temp or 65 degrees Fahrenheit. To calculate that over a surface area or parts per million us this equation per ratio of atmospheric gases .7854xdia.2/PSI. You can win a court case with those equations because they are repeatable results at atmosphere absolute.

Flat rate is a bad way of doing business anyway. Never take your vehicle to a flat rate shop. When working flat rate you make more the quicker you get done, so it's in the mechanics best interest to take short cuts and do a half ass job to get it out the door and make the most money. Most shops I know have gone to hourly. Flat rate is unethical imo

I’ve seen this stupidity for a long time. Step back to the early 2000’s; and I’ll never forget this as long as I live, I was watching a news broadcast and they were interviewing the CEO of GM. They were talking about production cost and emissions on gasoline powered vehicles. He stated in this interview that they could actually make gasoline powered vehicles run cleaner and obviously make more power without catalytic converters but the government; EPA, wouldn’t let them stop putting them on the vehicles. Definitely nothing changed.

I understand the new emissions are making trucks clean. BUTT!!! Take note motors that at one time lasted 500k-100000k and were more dirty with less energy used to produce the older motors. New motors use more energy to produce them and maintain and don't live as long 250-300k at most. Soo the new motors need to be built. Long term we won't have old diesels trucks after 10 years when the parts run out and you can't delete it

Maybe while some in Congress are trying to do away with the IRS they can eliminate the EPA at the same time.

You think you have it bad, I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel. The EPA mandated re-tune makes it feel like I'm towing a garbage truck behind it, and dropped the mileage at least 10%. Oh, and it also lost a rod 200 miles into a 230 mile trip and puked a couple of quarts of oil on the side of the road before being hauled to the dealer on a diesel flatbed to wait for another half ton of ore to be mined somewhere with diesel equipment before being shipped overseas to Italy to be built into another engine, before being shipped on a carrier that burns a gallon of tar sludge every 4 inches or so as it moves across the ocean (no emissions on those); before being trucked from Detroit to Florida to be installed in my vehicle. Yeah it;s a run on sentence, but it was far more annoying in real life🙂
This all happened at just under 7 years old with 64K miles on it, and only 4K miles after FCA replaced the failed EGR cooler, the melted intake, a melted valve cover, melted injector tubes and cracked turbo hoses under a recall and AEM warranty. They also hit my aftermarket warranty for $1700 to fix a timing cover leak and front main seal on it.
This is my wife's car which got the oil changed every 5K (factory suggests 10K), fuel filters every 20K and wasn't used for heavy duty service, towing, etc., but did a fair number of long road trips between 50-2000 miles. It's up to around $21K in repairs paid by the aftermarket warranty. It stinks as it's a great driving vehicle, but it's the least reliable turd I've ever owned. Warranty runs out in October 14th, selling it on the 13th!

Want to exempt yourself from the govt regulations which require you to run dpf/egr? Stick with me for a min and it could just change your life. I promise there is a point being made here but it may become lengthy or require a couple posts to complete. In the US, every citizen is also a national. All citizens are nationals though not all nationals are citizens. The citizen part is where the rules and regulations are applied to. You can declare yourself one but not the other because (and according to the 13th amendment) it has to be voluntary. No one can tell you what political affiliation you must be. You can declare yourself a national but not a citizen. This is not some sovereign citizen garbage, this is fact and can be referenced in 100’s of case law examples, it’s in public law, and it’s in US code. Make yourself exempt from the manmade laws that govern citizens. There is a group of us who hold a call and discuss this topic on an educational basis each and every day except sundays. There’s no cost and there is nothing to buy. It’s a group of people helping other people. It’s BECAUSE of the help from someone else that each and every one of us there were able to find this information and we , in turn, just try to help others. We often say that the only way to protect our freedoms is by helping you protect your freedoms. There are so many other things that you gain back by re-claiming your god given rights and handing back the civil rights that someone in our bloodline sometime in the past voluntarily handed over (presumably in exchange for something that seemed good to them at the time). You can join us by calling in or using free conference call app. The details are contained in our [really ugly] site (because the members aren’t good IT people but try to get the message out). The site is thematrixdocs dot com. I’m not trying to spam you here . I’m trying to show you how we can help the situation. Please have a look don’t just delete my comment. I promise you it would be the most life changing decision you ever made if you’ll give it some time to hear and learn. There’s no cost. It’s your freedom. Why on earth would someone charge you to re-gain your freedom. I hope that you will give it a look, for yourself and the betterment of your family and loved ones as well.

"Hey, I have a 2020 duramax with 60% over injectors, a twin turbo setup with dual CP3's and I need custom tunes to make all these parts play nice together."

The 1500 we had with the 5.3 was just being killed, and after buying the 2500 and diesel engine I could just kick myself for not doing it so much sooner. Completely different and better driving experience.
It’s been 3 years now and now I am getting really nervous. It’s the ONLY vehicle we have, so I depend on it for work as well, but I know I’m driving around on a ticking time bomb of built in repair BILLS that will cost thousands, money I don’t have.
So now I’ve done some research and I see the epa has been cracking down on service shops busting the guys who were doing the deletes and I can’t find anyone willing to do it. And delete systems that used to cost $1500 to $2500 now cost $5k to $10k.
I’ve been considering doing the The Diesel Dudes delete, you buy the parts bundle from them and tune and install yourself, but I’m just not sure I have the ability or the time , and if ANYTHING goes wrong I definitely don’t have the backup vehicle to drive until it all gets straightened out. My confidence level is in the tubes but I know it NEEDS to be done before this truck takes a giant government shit all over ME.

Next, I am seeing a lot of 2020,2021 trucks for sale and advertising "fresh rebuilt engine", that's literally a 2 and 3 yr old truck, maybe 500k miles with a fresh rebuild. Next, my 3 trucks are gliders, all are 12.7 detroits 1999s, all are highly modded for big power, all average at least 6.5mpg pulling flatbed and the blocks are all between 2.5-3million miles, all three engines were inframed twice, in 07 and 2014, and full out of frames in 2021. The entire reason I got into this industry is because I was paying shipping companies to pick up the log homes I was manufacturing in Montana at my log yard, to haul the house to it's destination in Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho etc. Then the trucker would call me to tell me he couldn't get his truck up the road on the side of a ski resort mountain to deliver the homes package. So I had to buy a fleet of trailers and pickup trucks to offload the semi truck on the side of the road, load it onto my smaller trailer, just to get it up to the jobsite.
Your point here is recognized, but it didn't work in my experience. The smaller pickup trucks were my only option in my situation. I'm sure there are others in different industries with similar stories.

I like them and I get the point but as a person who owns and drives and uses a diesel Duramax truck. Having flown to Texas and driven back just before the EPA raids. I understand the benefits of deaf DPF EGR deletion. However I cannot support the statement that it's not like we're selling crack or do anything to anybody we just want to have our trucks be fun basically part of that was actually stated. Diesel particulates soot is something that is ingested by the human body and is stored in the lungs and is never able to be excreted therefore you have the sum total of soot in your lungs when you die of all that you have been exposed to just like a DPF except you don't have regeneration so it does and will cause cancer it doesn't will cause breathing issues and early death or painful life until death. Even some gases that may affect the ozone or whatever this is direct straight into your lungs stays there inhibits breathing causes you problems if not cancer and you die with or from the amount that is in your chest so yeah it needs to be trapped if we're going to run diesels legally it makes sense. Running without at least a DPF is pretty much the equivalent of killing and hurting other people; selling crack. All said without a doubt the DEF, EGR and the DPF are absolute unreliable destruction to diesel vehicles.

Sometimes i wonder if this podcast has any useful information or its just a bunch of BS until then last 5 mins the heading gets touched on then that's it. the last few episodes seem to drive a lot of scare tactics.maybe it's just me.

DEF. This started with Mercedes diesel cars. They did it to make their cars seem cleaner. Now everyone is stuck with it. All this smog crap is ruining diesel engines. I see more big trucks broken down on the side of the road. Why? DEF!

I would love to own a diesel truck but the DEF cuts your milage in half the EGR, DPFs and the rest cut the engine life in half its pointless. I used to own a diesle because I got great milage and power, now diesl is just a money hole.
