I deleted my truck because I kept having problems with my emissions and kept spending THOUSANDS of dollars repairing it. Even if i did it myself, i would still spend thousands of dollars. My truck would stay on regen mode for hours driving on the highway and I'd get average of 6 to 8 mpg. That's bullshit. I deleted it and tuned it and it woke up my truck. I get great milage, less repairs and my truck has over 600,000 miles on it. Without that delete, that truck wouldn't have seen more than 250k miles
My grandfather ran water/meth going all the way back to the 70’s. He sold kits at truck stops & couldn’t move them at $75. So he bumped the price up to $700 & couldn’t make enough of them.
@@wizard_of_poz4413It's not that people don't want to pay attention to their truck. It's that so many people are struggling to keep a roof over their head and food on the table for their family to be spending extra money elsewhere.
@awdeveau i mean a gallon of windshield wash is like 5 bucks or whatever. Plus I don't want to hear anyone pleading hard times when those banks intakes are selling like they are
One world order they already have it in place than been doing this slowly for years. The fake president we have was put there to make the big changes to the USA. He was a dislike guy before he was installed so it doesn't matter now voting isn't going to do shit
@ if a million people disregarded their BS it would change. That’s what civil disobedience is. If they refuse to renew your license then drive anyways. If everyone disregards the rules then the rule makers become irrelevant.
That's why my 2000 F-250 Lariat 7.3 SD is still on the road. It's been an amazing reilable truck and motor... the only thing I've to replace was the front hubs, my bad for running Phat tires that wore out the hubs. The Water/Meth injection has peque my interest, I have added mods like HI A/C injectors, upgraded the turbo, Banks Intercooler plus the Trans Command module and running a TS power chip set on stage 4 which works for me! I talk to alot of folks about my 7.3 and tell them to let her indle 5 minutes or the piro is under 350 degrees... as a OTR driver in my past life keeping the EGR temps down will give you a Million mile motor!
I know this is an old video but, I love how this is done! And we are all breaking the law it's just not enforced is very true! There are too many laws to all be enforced and many of them are in direct conflict with each other. I have been driving a diesel for the last 30 years. The 7.3 was the first standard for light to medium trucks. I am the third owner of my current diesel a 6.4 powerstroke that was set up and runs great tuned to the same output of the newest 6.7 high output and gets better fuel economy. The ironic part is I went to the State of Georgia and bought it from a dealer because they were wholesaling because to sell it otherwise they would have to put it back fully to stock or face possible fines and jeopardize their dealership license. The fact that those that are being tasked with enforcing the laws do not know the law. Keep putting out the updates because I don't think that anyone really knows the laws that cover this subject. Because as best as I (retired LEO) understand what the actual EPA standard of the Law states is that the vehicle must pass the emissions test standard that it did at the date it was manufactured!! With or without factory equipment if it meets that standard it is in compliance with what the EPA Law states!!
Thanks for the excellent podcast. I have driven a diesel since 1982 when GM was raping the public with their 5.7 liter converted gas engines. I made a few changes and made that 5.7 last 350,000 miles. I had always wanted a Dodge ram with a Cummins and finally got one. It was a 2001 long bed quad cab with a 5.9 HO and 6 speed manual. This truck got better fuel mileage than the S-10 Blazer or the Astro vans I had. We took it on vacation because it was so economical at 23.7 mpg running down the highway at 70 through the mountains in Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky. I had gotten over 25 mpg on several tanks. That's hand calculated!!!. I expected similar results when I had to upgrade to a 2008 2500 HD with a 6.7. I wanted to do the right thing and be emissions compliant but the truck was in the shop twice a month for the first year I had it. They kept telling me they would fix it. LOL!!! My fuel economy with that truck was 25% less than the 2001 because of the emissions system. The same EPA that is truing to force impossible mileage goals for the manufacturer just killed one of the most economical vehicles on the road. I engaged a lawyer, sent all of the repair bills which were all emissions system related to Dodge explaining that due to loss of use, time off of work taking the truck back and forth to the dealer, decreased fuel economy, etc that they compensate me $15,000. They came back with an offer of $7500 if I would just go away, they didn't even contest it. The emissions system as originally designed and manufactured was defective. It would not work anywhere but in a controlled environment. You guys are correct in that they have no idea what they are enforcing, how the system works or anything else for that matter. If they would allow the manufacturers to build a system that would work in everyday use, I would go for it but they won't. They have run Volkswagen diesel cars out of the US and seem to be working on the rest of the industry. If they would work with the manufacturers to build a system that would work without huge maintenance costs and fuel economy penalties maybe people wouldn't be deleting. Their job is to find things to worry about. If they don't, they don't have jobs so they will create new issues that keep them cramming laws down our throats to keep themselves employed. They have made many of us criminals but they accept no responsibility for the problems we are having. Sorry for the long rant but I've been enjoying diesels for 40 years and now the idiots are threating to take that away along with many of our other freedoms. Thanks again for the podcast.
Now with computers, the systems can be tuned to way cleaner burning engines. I have proven this with my own personnel 08 6.4 by tuning and adding a (Modified) baffled and screened catch can. Equals fewer contaminants in the intake system, cleaner burn in the combustion chamber, and better HP. Improved MPG. Fewer emissions, and improved engine life on all internal moving parts. Less downtime.
Great content as usual. 100% right about how the truck is used. I'm in the boat where I only use my truck occasionally and ran into the emissions issues from idling/short tripping.
Such good information. I'm the guy who drives his 97,500 dually 15 to work and 15 min home. I just like diesels. But I'm constantly stressed about getting and staying hot enough to regen. But I'm in the middle of replacing all the charge pipes. Down tube. Intake. Manifolds up tubes. So this puts me at ease a bit.
Out of all the podcast I watched this is the realest , genuine guy and speaking real day facts . The rest of the guys try too kiss the feet of epa and still give there opinions . But this guy is a deferent breed and would love too watch more of HIM !
Well there’s the problem. Why can’t we get aftermarket parts and not have to pay 19k in parts?! If the government could fix that, then more trucks would be compliant. And some people would be able to get in the business of making emissions parts. Carb is a money grab claiming to be the gatekeeper. As long as a truck passes emissions test, there should be no question how it got there. Fix that and we can fix people keeping emissions on.
0:46 Answer to first Question: You can use a decarboniser additive with each refuel. The product I used has independent scientific reports AND was tested by a NATA certified testing specialist which is part of the Brisbane city council. The test compared a new Isuzu diesel ute first without any additives, then with CEM (Australian based Cost Effective Maintenance…mining companies are saving big bucks as Cat Dozers last much longer than recommended with less wear than the non additive engines.). Anyway, I’m only going to mention the decarboniser increases the cetane rating a little and because of the slightly better combustion not only reduces the number of particulates, but the size of the soot. This obviously means reduced regenerations saving money here. As well, when doing a regen, the DPF burns hotter and this reduces regen time. I’ve used their products for about 15 years. As I buy in bulk it actually pays for itself in slightly increased fuel consumption. The other benefit is cleaner engine internals and injector spray pattern is maintained as designed. One mind blowing fact I know is that the oil additive AW10 allows the engine oil soot loading to double (and still keep the oil within specs), now I’m not saying to extend your servicing intervals…I would never do that, in fact I like to cut them short. Every 50,000 klms I do a “double flush” using the flush concentrate and use cheap oil, just drive about 15 klms, then dump the oil to put the good stuff in, of course with AW10. 2% per volume is all u need. They have a cheap book which has many customer successes (including a large mining company I was telling u about). I get nothing out of telling you about this…I’m just a diesel lover, from small vehicles to 4x4 to V8 twin turbo Audi Q7 I owned years ago…Damm that was a fast SUV (was tuned, small exhaust mods). Currently I own a heavily modified LandCruiser Prado 2007 (240kW, 560 Nm at the wheels). Thinking about an older US truck pre DPF and mechanical fuel injection…any suggestions? FYI, typically DPFs should be removed and specially cleaned every 150,000 klms and in Australia the best in the business charge. $600 AUD. Thing is, by using the decarboniser you will extend this very much longer. Not sure what u guys have in the US, but just make sure it’s laboratory and field tested with quality company reports.
Thats why the old trucks are increasing in value. LBZ prices are through the roof. Even LB7 prices are up there. None of rhat emissions crap on them. Curious that all government diesels do NOT have def dpf or regen crap on them for reliability and no breakdowns. I wonder how that would play out in court? Granted they don't remove all that emissions crap, because they can buy it straight from Ford without it. Yes you heard me correctly. Our government can buy diesels from the factory without dpf def or any regen crap installed.
I now own a 2017 Ford 6.7 f250, the biggest mistake I ever made because of the fuel mileage, 12 Mpg towing a light trailer, maybe 15 Mpg on the highway without, and constantly worrying about a $10,000 breakdown .During my pick up truck owning/driving career I sold my 1997 F250 with a 7.3 ( bought it new and meticulously maintained it) It only had 74,000 miles on it when I sold it in 2006. Dam thing used to get 24-26 miles to the gallon- didn't matter if I drove it in the city or on the highway. I couldn't even smell burning diesel coming out of the exhaust, never black exhaust and when cold a little light grey exhaust, and unbelievably the engine oil stayed very clean looking between oil changes. Only problem that I ever had was the oil pan leaked (a lot) and was told by numerous mechanics that the engine had to be pulled or that the cab had to be lifted to reseal the pan at a cost of over $2,500.00 at the time, which was one of the reasons that I sold it. I have since found out that there is an outfit somewhere in Mass. that you can buy a two piece oil pan for less than $500.00 dollars. I'm seriously considering selling it, I had plans to pull a small 5th wheel toy hauler when my wife retires in two years so that we can travel the country together but I'm afraid that something catastrophic is going to happen to it before that time comes. Anyhow- just venting...
I had a Karen call 911 over my 6.0...it won't "roll coal" it's a grandpa truck, but another guy rolled some coal in a blue Duramax, but the cop pulled in behind me with his lights on.. I showed him my recipe that I had just bought $150 of groceries and had been in the store for an hour..I fired my truck up and floored it and it blew zero coal...the cop said, "well you changed the tune", but my truck doesn't have a tuner and he looked at my phone and I showed him I have no tune app....the Karen pulled up and said, " no that's not him, but all those disgusting trucks need pulled off the roads"...people make me sick...she was driving a brand new EQS S-Class Mercedes-Benz EV car... I found out she used to be the Mayor of my little town...the cop just rolled his eyes and walked away and left without saying a word to me..

First time viewer and man it was great. I only run 7.3's because of all this and Its very comforting to just put diesel fuel in and go. I would not own anything newer because of it. My 96 has 365k and is still on the original injectors. It runs great. My soon to be hotshot truck is a 2002 and its built to 425 hp and runs really well. I'm breaking it in now and will be hitting the hauling road after the first of the year. Great info and great podcast. Thanks, a new subscriber.
Thanks for listening, we appreciate it! We have some 7.3 specific episodes on the channel. Let us know if you’d like a topic about them covered on an episode.
This is why California it trying to bad older vehicles from the road. Which is pointless. Their aren’t a lot of older engines left on the road to make a difference
I do believe people have forgotten they did produce trucks that didn’t have emissions from the factory, Ya pre 2003 had nothing and nothing to enforce! Just buy old ones and do whatever you want to them, old 7.3ps old duramax lb7 and old 12/24v Cummins and 03 Cummins no emissions, yes even 04+ Cummins has egr but at least it’s just the camshaft overlap no dpf.
I enjoyed the video I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 6.6 Duramax engine has 365.000km its stock runs like a clock don't have any tunes on it don't intend to delete anything. I am removing and cleaning the EGR system on it only.
Enjoy your podcast, I am a Owner Operator OTR OVER MY YEARS OF OWNING EIGHT TRUCK IN MY CARRIER I have found that if I stay away of the Bio diesel the engines seem to get better fuel mileage, and less problems with the emissions systems
Have you looked behind your EGR and seen how plugged with soot and goo your intake is? Have you been behind and followed, have you been stuck in trafic when one of these 08 to 2010 veh while it is in regen? Try it on a hot day. And as the owner or driver in this situation your life could be threatened. Have your oil tested at your 5000 + recommended service. And you have 2 + quarts extra in your crankcase and that turns out to be fuel that has by passed your rings during regen that is just destroying to life of your engine. PS since I put a large volume 4" catchcan with 1" ports and a baffle plate on my blowby for my 08 6.4 Powerstroke my cold start has improved greatly and the amount of black smoke on lift off in stop and go traffic has greatly improved no black smoke on a normal lift off with a meadum load.👍👍
I have a 8 year old Ram 2500 fully stock haven't had any issues with any of the emissions only has 43k on it. Drive it around here and there mostly not towing anything.
You know what sucks is when your that person trying to stay straight with the law. Then truck goes down and the dpf pump is bad. Then dealer says it may take a year to get the part. I can't go that long with out my truck. So I had to reach out to friends in the business to get me my pump. All I'm trying to say is the government wants to know why this is happening now and that's why. You can't get parts.
Don't you need tuning for water meth injection too? And the injection from what I have seen gets plumbed in right before it goes into the intake so how would that help the egr valve
My work Peterbilt has been in & out of the shop for Regen/def problems, 6 months and around $17k, it’s finally fixed… for now. This is a propane delivery truck in the northeast.
Most trucks do not get deleted with zero miles on them, they're getting deleted when the emission system(s) fail a couple times, and the owner realizes how costly it is with downtime to fix with no real signs improvement to be seen for their very expensive investment. The fallacy is that people still say diesels are "Million Mile" engines if taken care of, they are NOT anymore. We pay a premium for having a diesel engine, at purchase, and for maintenance & repairs. Because the expectation is that a diesel will have better working performance, and this is a big one, LONGEVITY. We already expect to pay more for these 2 things with a diesel engine, so when the emission systems fail regularly, often creating insane downtime, it becomes extremely tempting to delete and gain back LONGEVITY and often a 50% increase or more in fuel economy based on tune.
My duramax is SAFE ....2002 zero emissions devices from Factory 4we one owner . It's for sale . Thanks to this channel for the added value. Price is going up....
Pro tip so you don't have a water methanol tank in your bed the existing DEF tank makes a great tank for setting up a water meth system once some other stuff falls off 😂
To be clear, the 25 largest container ships in the world burn more diesel fuel in one year with no emissions than all of the diesel trucks in North America…and there are well over 1,000 container ships…
Returning the vehivle to stock. Is not running with a failed government emmisions project. But rather a clean burning properly tuned well maintaned engine. That has higher mpg. more hp. And longer lasting less maintanence vehicles.
I've never got in trouble for a little blackness on the side of the truck by the exshault pipe, for I only was my truck once a year. But I guess one can put a extension on the tailpipe and get it away from the truck.
Your truck will never run better than after you delete it. These guys are epa spokespersons. You will never make high miles or high horse power with the dpf still on your truck.
🤣🤣🤣You must have missed the part where I clearly said we were treated like criminals. I'm definitely no EPA Spokesperson. I would love nothing more than to see the entire agency completely obliterated. Until that happens, they will continue to destroy people's lives and livelihoods. I'm just here to tell our story so idiots preaching about deletes don't ruin anymore lives.
I use Lucas Diesel Deep Clean. Gotta have it. I was in the oilfield for many years using a truck that had the DEF system on it. In those vocational environments (idle time, PTO time, wait, etc) with cold weather especially - you gotta use it. Otherwise you'll plug up the SCR fast. Downtime is unacceptable in work environments and it'll break your business. I put 400,000 hard miles on the truck in 6 years and had ZERO emissions issues. It was a Freightliner 122SD with a Detroit 600HP diesel and 18 speed transmission with 46K rears. You MUST use LDDC to keep the filters clean. PLUS - do regular forced regens. Especially if you drive just local distances. Otherwise the shops will get you with high $$$$$ repairs.
So,answer me this….I am a mechanic from back in the seventies, when diesel engines lasted decades….Before this emission scam….Now all I see are cracked heads and failed ECM controls at low mileages….Yeah, the increased heat burns hydrocarbons, but destroys pistons and especially heads….Emissions DO NOTHING to benefit the engine….Nada….Nothing
Problem is we are all law abiding and striving to obey laws, and continually have to keep up with new laws. The non law abiding don’t obey laws so legislators leave them alone, knowing they will not obey. It’s about control and power.
You aint lying my friend. every law is about power over us. Its never about safety or even the "Children" the govt will mow your kids down in school faster than you can blink an eye to get you inline.
I've got a 2016 f350 xlt with 135,000+ it's been pulling rvs since day one, I've seen the cp4 issues but it's failure rate is 7% over all, I've had 07 f250,12f250,15f450,19f250,16 f350 now I've either been lucky or is this not as bad as they say? Now my lawyer has my 2015 f450 in a lawsuit not a class action lawsuit just the individual suit for the 2015 cp4. But from my understanding dodge ,Chevy and ford run the same bosh cp4 dodge has settled out, but the lawyer says ford will fight till the bitter end because they're going broke along with gm, my question is do these cp4 kits really work because they're still installing the 4.2 which is the same bosh cp anyways.
No-one wants to talk about WHY the epa and other agencies came after truck owners (and shops). Hate to say it, but it's their own damn fault. The government HATES when people flaunt disregard of the laws. That is exactly what most diesel owners did. Instead of quietly tuning their trucks for better performance and better mileage and being discrete about it, they chose to include tunes for "rolling coal". They also produced and installed EGR bypass systems that were VERY obvious, some of them bright purple pipes or "block offs". Some idiots even made it a point to go to political rallys with their trucks "rolling coal". Thank you so much for drawing attention to the shops and people that simply were trying to keep their trucks on the road and running without failures due to emissions systems. As someone once said " When I see black smoke from your truck, all I see is someone that doesn't know how to tune a truck".
Tires produce 1800x the amount of particulate matter as all of the world's exhaust emissions, I mean like the entire planets exhaust emissions don't even touch the tip of the iceberg of what tires produce. You know what the EPA is doing about that? Not a goddamn thing!
I sold a 2016 f350 dually with the 6.7 simply because of the emissions. It was a great truck and very powerful. I had it deleted, from the def to the oil cooler it was deleted. I got a ticket for not having a dpf filter and looked into putting it back to stock and it was just too expensive. I sold the truck to a logger and bought a gas burner. I can still pull my tractor and equipment I just get started a little slower.
What if you’re driving it 44 miles to work? So 88 miles round trip? I’ve had the truck for only 10k miles (bought used 146k) I’ve only had maybe 3-4 regens. And 2 of them came after I was driving 80 mph and hot rodding it down the freeway. I don’t have anything to monitor the regens but it’s obvious when you smell it at a red light after gettin off the freeway. But again that’s after driving like it’s a hot rod. Otherwise I feel like I’m just on the cusp of driving it enough at highway speeds for an hour at a time
I just love the facts are there that this was not the way to go and that it's killing more to have it. To be smart about it and just figure a way to not crop dust everything with smoking everything out and get rid of what's destroying more to have
Any bypass filter kit will help. I have a FS2500 on my 2000 F250 Super Duty with 7.3 powerstroke. I personally think bypass filters should come stock on all diesel and gasoline vehicles that have egr.
My worry is that pre emissions diesel will have to become emission compliant or has to be unregistered because they are no longer exempt from emissions. I grew up around diesels and always had a passion for them. I like the newer diesels because they have a lot of nice features but have failing emissions equipment or are 50,000+ dollars even when it’s a 10+ year old truck. So with emissions on newer diesels makes the pre emissions one go way up in value and harder to buy. I’ve been wanting to buy a obs 7.3 powerstroke or a 2nd Gen 12v or 24v that’s not rusted out and lower mileage. But even the rusted out high mileage are selling for like 15,000+ and I remember when clean low mileage ones a few years ago you could buy under 10,000 now they sell for 20,000+. You know I haul hay and haul cattle feed and tow quite often in a very hilly environment and I’m 18 fresh out of school and I could use even a older diesel. These hills are killing my 03 5.3 Silverado. It will do the work but I’m getting 4-7 mpg because of the hills. But can’t find a decent older diesel truck that isn’t high mileage or rusted out without being a ridiculous price. Like I said even the rusted out high mileage ones that have been ran hard are still selling for 15k + and the ones that are selling for like 5-10k are really high mileage rusted out with a lot of problems that would cost more to fix then what the truck is worth.
your best bet, buy a pre 06 truck, it will be high mileage but find one who has papers proving the work done. Your best bet will be to plan to rebuild it, make it new. I dont see how they could force vehicles that never had parts designed for the vehicle magically appear. Higher mileage means less $, means more $ for upgrades.
@@yourfavoritelawnguy2722 yeah but the thing is I’m talking about 94-04 trucks I see high mileage rusted out for more than 13k within 100 miles range of me
@@yourfavoritelawnguy2722 for a decent truck with a little bit of rust and less than 250k miles they are selling for almost 20k and under 200k they sell for 25k if not more
The EGR is nothing but a exshaust leak into the intake. Its understandable the need to remove it. I personally never liked the delete option, I prefer just to turn it off by one way or another. The EGR is easy, simply unplug it. Yes a code is sent and the light comes on, but that does not bother me. I can easily put up with the light vs my intake clogging up with the black gombo.
Maybe that is why my 2 6 Leakers run so good. 2004 F550 with 210K on the clock and a 2006 F250 230K on the clock and I beat them like a red headed step child EVERYWHERE I go.
Wow perfect timing! I literally just pulled the trigger on a Snow Perf. Stage MPG kit 2 days ago! I was on the fence because I haven’t heard anything about it in 10 years and even all the forum topics are 10-15 years old so I thought maybe I was missing something and everyone stopped using them. It was weird. I absolutely NEED water meth injection because pulling 30k lbs+ up the Rockies every week. I’m on my 3rd exhaust manifold on my 5th Gen Ram which I’m guessing is from too high of EGT’s and I think meth injection should fix it.
Down shift and spin the motor faster. Had a 2001 dodge 125 hp injectors, schide lighting pump and turbo and edge drag box never cracked a manifold or melted a piston the Cummins will run all day long at 1250 degrees go any higher better let off in about 10seconds or you'll have problems
@@davidcaskey4669 Thanks. Spinning it faster will increase coolant temps. With a 5th Gen High Output Cummins the sweet spot is 2200rpms I found out (w/ 37” wheels) without heating up the coolant and oil temps, but consistently at those speeds EGT gets hot going up the IKE at 7k-11k ft elevation.

I've owned my lmm for 5 yrs and I'm still learning about Diesels , Question , did I hear him correctly ? A diesel guy that has all bone stock truck that tows heavy loads / works the truck has less problems than the guy that drives 10 miles each way to work , and let's say it's all Freeway driving,, and if that's the case what advice would he give to the guy doing his 10 miles a day on the Freeway ?
My 1999 7.3 is safe. I am very interested to see the emissions from a 7.3 with speed of air pistons. If they do half what they say they will do, DPF could be a thing of the past. If I live long enough, I am going to rebuild my 7.3 with them and just keep driving it. Even if I spent $30,000 on a rebuild, I am still better off.
Got a dog delete do one on a 2019 cascadia dd13 with a dt12 and it will not automatically shift, manual only and limited to only 53 mph. Any suggestions?
@@kencee9213 The install isn't complicated, the nozzles need to be installed in the intake manifold and those holes need to be drilled and tapped with the proper thread pitch.
Run an ezlynk. Keep stock exhaust so you can put it back on if need be. Leave egr on and just have it turned off. Stop putting huge tips on exhaust to keep attention off. Just run dpf delete pipes and stock tailpipe. Have fun on empty back roads. Keep it nice and easy in town.

See what the difference in emissions output vs mpg. Run the numbers for cost of emissions systems for each vehicle. Run the numbers for baking def, how much energy it uses. Run the numbers for manufacturing emissions systems be not having emissions systems. Run the numbers for hauling DEF fluids and manufacturing Def fluids. I bet, if you do intensive research, we’ll find the epa emissions produces more emissions than and uses more fuel than just having a basic emission system.
Ive got 343,000 on a 2018 eco diesel, runs like a champ, but spends most of the time on the highway and I drive it like I stole it. Im onto a 2023 eco diesel with 93,000 in 14 months, no issues.
All these big diesel manufactures should have stood together and told the government to screw off and not went to any of this def bs If they had all said this we wouldn’t have it now. Power in numbers people
I highly doubt it, in the heavy diesel truck world, they are still handing out those deletes for new trucks due to lack of parts, and no viable replacements. Due to the oem parts being proven to be prone to premature failure. With any luck the EPA will be dissolved along with all the 3 letter organizations.
I have only recently found this podcast, And i can say with certainty that you have helped me though both the delete process as well as getting a Revmax VB, and proper tune. I'm in AZ so no emissions here but, the info has been 11/10 and i cant thank you enough!
@@bigmurph1447 CORRECT. I'm in AZ too. I think what andiamo means is maybe in his rural area they don't do the testing every year. But things are changing quick and everyone with a diesel truck will be effected in the new couple years. Many of the things that use to be CA only emissions wise are being adopted by other states quick and not just on diesels.
@@C5turbo yes I know I understand that I don't have emissions testing in my state either. But alot of people still thinks if there state doesn't have emissions laws its ok to delete there truck. The diesel emissions law is not a state law its a federal law. Alot of people get confused over the laws.
What this guy is saying might be true for the work truck but for those of us with commuter diesels like my 2018 GMC terrain with the 1.6L LH7 diesel, it's not the DPF that's the problem that thing stays clean as a whistle, it's the intake manifold that looks like clogged arteries and it's spitting black abrasive diesel snot straight onto my intake valves! I have a good catch can and it's still out of control. Somebody please tell me because I honestly don't know the answer, why do we NOT take the EGR AFTER the DPF so we're not picking up all that soot?? My only guess is that after the DPF there may not be enough pressure to overcome the boost pressure in the manifold. But something needs to be done. This is what's killing engines. P.S. I'm on the highway for an hour each way at 70 MPH plus.
DPFs don’t get plugged if you use the truck, not use it like a Prius ,like a truck, work it get it hot, I don’t know why people like to buy one ton diesel trucks and drive them around like they are a car. Let them cold idle too long etc… 99 percent of the DPF issues are driver induced.
100% truth. Look at the 6.4 power stroke. Ones with the most miles without issues are the ones that were worked properly. Seen several with 300-400k miles on the original engine especially f350’s and f450’s. Working them makes are difference for sure.
It depends on how you work them. I have a couple trucks that come in to our dealership from a construction company that clog dpfs past the point of self regen because they idle on site and/or pull large equipment around the site and they have an average mph of 27 mph and don’t have enough long drive time to self regen as they should
@@fredcalder2869 idle and and low speed are killers. The key is let them regen like they’re supposed to instead of shutting them off. I run a service truck and if the truck hasn’t regen’d like I think it should then I’ll plug into it and force a regen to keep it clean but that’s honestly what I specialize in on class 8 trucks. 95% of my service calls are on after treatment systems and majority of the time I’ll find where the drivers don’t let the truck regen properly and/or hit the inhibit switch to stop it because they say it’s “annoying” to listen to it regen🤷🏻♂️.. I’ll gladly take their money because of their stupidity.
So they put those systems on to reduce emissions but you have to drive the truck hard (increase emissions) to get it hot enough to make it reliable. Make it make sense please.

They were everywhere 10 years ago but nowadays nobody wants to have to pay attention to their truck

Get rid of the the two party system
The hell with that! Government trucks dont have to have emmision systems so neither do ours
If everyone deleted every diesel in the US there isn't shit the epa could do.
They can just make it so you can't register them
@@wizard_of_poz4413then everyone could just drive them anyways. Enforcement would fail if EVERYONE would disregard these BS regulations together.

@@Jpilgrim30 yea ok Mr sovereign citizen go ahead and do that
That's why my 2000 F-250 Lariat 7.3 SD is still on the road.
The EPA needs to have a muzzle put on. They’re grip on power is getting out of hand.
Indeed they are not for the environment but only $$$$$

Great content as usual. 100% right about how the truck is used. I'm in the boat where I only use my truck occasionally and ran into the emissions issues from idling/short tripping.
Thanks for listening!
I have a 2024 ram 6.7 I bought in January 117k miles on it and now have a plugged dpf. It doesn't matter if you idle or not it's going to fail.
Listening to this podcast as I'm pulling egr off my lly 😅
Glad to have LFD as my local diesel shop. Great group of guys!
0:46 Answer to first Question:
You can use a decarboniser additive with each refuel.
Tell us more about product options please and thank you
Thats why the old trucks are increasing in value.
That was a great story ..thanks 🙂
I'll take things that never happened for 500
@brian3.2 I live in Arkansas. They are cracking down hard core on diesel smoke. People are call 911 to report it.

This was all caused by the morons posting vedio of their truck belching black smoke at electric cars.
@robertusa1234 and it all started when they cracked down on truckers putting old motors in new chassis. The glider kit.
Can we get an episode about the half ton diesels. Would love to see PPE talk about the LM2 Duramax as they are bringing out tons of products.
Thank you for listening!
Bio diesel dependence where u get it. How ur engine will perform.
I'll keep my little 2005 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty without emissions. I've got almost 300,000 miles on it and have only done routine maintenance.
I love good clean air in my diesel and my diesel loves it to
I agree
I have a 8 year old Ram 2500 fully stock haven't had any issues with any of the emissions only has 43k on it. Drive it around here and there mostly not towing anything.
My 2013 runs just fine and pulls our AS with no problem. I still get 15 and 21 mpg. What is the end game deleting your truck. I don’t get it at all.
Electing Leftists results in this bullshit
Pro tip so you don't have a water methanol tank in your bed the existing DEF tank makes a great tank for setting up a water meth system once some other stuff falls off 😂
To be clear, the 25 largest container ships in the world burn more diesel fuel in one year with no emissions than all of the diesel trucks in North America…and there are well over 1,000 container ships…
nope they are now subject to emission rules due to international agreement .
I have always thought about the methanol injections for the DPF
What about early diesels 99 and older trucks 1500-1ton? Ford, GM, Dodge.
Returning the vehivle to stock. Is not running with a failed government emmisions project. But rather a clean burning properly tuned well maintaned engine. That has higher mpg. more hp. And longer lasting less maintanence vehicles.
Holy shit this is nuts. I'm a diesel mechanic and grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana used to live in Stevensville when I was in kindergarten
I still have a old 7.3, runs great and no emissions bullcrap!!!
Well if you got an deleted out of state truck driving through Georgia the Georgia state police can't do anything
My truck has been in the shop since Aug 26, mostly waiting for parts to return it to stock. Parts and labor are estimated at around $2600

Absolute perfect show! Super informative and it encapsulates all my frustrations with the ambiguities of green laws! Thank you for this podcast!
Can you use that on cummins isx 15 engine
You should do a episode with Charlie the Duramax mechanic at leadfoot he is one of the best in the state I know us Duramax fans would love it
I kept all my crap after my delete. It was a major PITA to pull it, and I don't plan on putting it all back on anytime soon.
Paying $90,000 for a truck is just stupid!!!
So till the emissions is perfected like gas motors today run old pre emissions or by a gasser
Otherwise I feel like I’m just on the cusp of driving it enough at highway speeds for an hour at a time
Really enjoy hearing from Vinny. Good dude
I just love the facts are there that this was not the way to go and that it's killing more to have it. To be smart about it and just figure a way to not crop dust everything with smoking everything out and get rid of what's destroying more to have
Should check insane diesels for their bypass filters. I hear this helps with soot build up in the engine.
@@yourfavoritelawnguy2722 yeah but the thing is I’m talking about 94-04 trucks I see high mileage rusted out for more than 13k within 100 miles range of me
@@yourfavoritelawnguy2722 for a decent truck with a little bit of rust and less than 250k miles they are selling for almost 20k and under 200k they sell for 25k if not more
That is happening in California on F450 and above.
I guess the new 7.3 ford caming out with is king for those who occasionally use them . Weekender RV . Weekend races and small businesses.
Get a Banks intake and intercooler. That will help out.
You will love it, if you have any questions about it, feel free to hit me up. I'd love to help.

I have been running water meth injection for 20 years on several different vehicles, 1 diesel and the rest high hp turbo gas engines, I love snow performance, auqaumist and aem systems, every engine I tear down has 0 carbon build up on the valve train and pistons.
What's total BS is not being able to modify or keep your property the way you see fit.
From what I understand the stock 6.0 air filter is adequate for stock power. Any opinions?
Stock filter for stock power? Sounds like common sense. I think the stock filter flows better than the aftermarket.
Modify the hell out of that 6.0 man, as a ase technician egr systems destroy the engine, let it breathe
Problem with water methanol is the surflow pumps fail and when they do your vehicle runs lean and kaboom
Great podcast thank you very much!
Got a dog delete do one on a 2019 cascadia dd13 with a dt12 and it will not automatically shift, manual only and limited to only 53 mph. Any suggestions?
Does this mean that I can't put in a different engine then factory? Being that it won't run like it did from factory??
I have brand new mopar doors and fenders in the boxes for a 98 to2001 if yours are bad and you want to keep it looking good
Does the water methanol injection work on VW diesel 4cyl and 6cyl engines also
Yes it does.
@@vinnyhimes1190 is it hard to install and it works with the def system also
@@kencee9213 The install isn't complicated, the nozzles need to be installed in the intake manifold and those holes need to be drilled and tapped with the proper thread pitch.
Thats why I keep my 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 😊
Run an ezlynk. Keep stock exhaust so you can put it back on if need be. Leave egr on and just have it turned off. Stop putting huge tips on exhaust to keep attention off. Just run dpf delete pipes and stock tailpipe. Have fun on empty back roads. Keep it nice and easy in town.
I have a 2005 dodge ram cummins 4 inch cat deleted no egr. Improved fuel economy by 2mpg
Would like to know if there is a way of finding out what tuner is on a 2014 F250 6.7. Bought the truck but the tuner head didn’t come with the truck
im just going to keep my old 94 12 valve on the road, came factory with no emissions...
Has there been an episode with actual legal folks (more than one at a time per episode) in which a discussion about legitimate legal approaches to taking back our liberties and stopping illegal government overreach?
yes. hes got Many talking to Attorneys and such. 9 times out of 10 thought the Only solution is Voting. or calling your local representatives.
This show seems to support the epa by informing us all what we can no longer do with our trucks. I’d prefer a show with balls.
@@justnsaliga8518 I watched one some.time back in which a lawyer was on but nothing was ever materialized towards putting a stop to overreach.
@@brianbusch2840 That’s not our goal at all. For years, much of this was going on but it never got attention in media. I was a deisel mechanic and I currently drive semi and fly planes in Alaska and I'll tell you that emission device don't do well and have no life in cold weather period our semi trucks are failing left and right and need to be regen all the time
If you’re not staring at the DPF screen… there’s no indication it’s close to or regenerating on my ‘22 Ram 2500 HD
Can a deleted diesel be tuned to pass EPA certification
Someone need me to run a research on if DPF /DEF systems are actually working for their climate change.
Run same trucks with and without emissions systems.
Lucas dpf deep clean must be part of your regular maintenance
Ive got 343,000 on a 2018 eco diesel, runs like a champ, but spends most of the time on the highway and I drive it like I stole it. Im onto a 2023 eco diesel with 93,000 in 14 months, no issues.
Why would you buy parts from a dealership?
It is the water methanol injection work for trucks with DPfs or good for them
Great information! I’ve a 2018 Ram 3500 G56. I’m in federal healthcare & believe me, today’s government leaders do not know what they are doing!🙄
You do have emissions in ur state. It's for all states u take the dpf ur truck its a federal law u could be fine a ton of money. Just saying

Lies
So I have a 6.5 turbo diesel , and stock it doesent have a dpf , do I need one ?
