Today's video is going to be something different. Normally I shoot videos at home, but this time it will be a kind of an ambient outdoor movie.
The background is: I've been looking for a proper solution to power my pedals off the grid for a very long time… It was a dream to go to sea or to a forest and play there soundscapes.
Finally I came pretty close to more or less suitable solution. It is a guitar power bank.
It is small, it is light, it has 9 volts DC and capable of powering three or even four digital pedals.
The one I got is maybe not the best - it has some noise issues, but still good to go. I can play two or three hours or even more, depending on how greedy the pedal are.
The other day I took my guitar, several pedals and we drove to one of our beloved places in the forest.
We spent two nights there: slept in tents, burnt fire in the night, struggled with mosquitoes… Did all those lovely things people do when hiking.
It was just amazing to sit in the nature with my headphones on and play guitar for hours.
When I came home and started to see what we've shot and recorded I realized I didn't want to upload several different videos from the same location and thought it would be better to make one big video with the vibe we had there.
    The gear used:
Godin Solidac guitar with Fernandes Sustainer
    Strymon Iridium
    Chase Bliss Audio Mood MK2
    Strymon Timeline
    Joyo JP-05
    Zoom h4n

Thanks Max! Yes, RF has found a good formula for guitar soundscapes with these sustainers and volume swells in general.

Beautiful! This gave me inspiration to use some kind of similar setup. Already have all the gear and I live on the boarder of a national park in Norway. Thanks man. Nice and soothing playing

Splendid Mikhail, truly an achievement. Your beautiful Godin and the Fernandes honor the beauty of your locations in the forest. Many of us here likely envy your use of that sustainer in your signal chain and doing this under all DC power--come on--Total Respect! Well done; we love your channel! Cheers and good wishes from PDX to your campsite.

Actually, you are the third one from Portland in the comments to this vid! @maxcuthbert100 also lives there now... I know that Portland is one of the greenest cities in US, maybe that is the reason why this greenish video became so popular in PDX)))

Thanks, Perry! What power solutions do you use when playing off-the-grid? I know you love that - playing in the nature.

@@MikhailMedvedev powerbanks and batteries, that's the solution.
In the first years 2015-2018 I used a suitcase generator but it was a mess to take it everywhere, then I've discovered batteries and powerbanks 🔥
