Here I wanted to share with you another video I recently recorded in the nature. The first time I saw Soma Terra videos on RUclips 2 years ago I thought how cool it would be to play this instrument somewhere in the nature at night near a camp fire. Finally I was lucky to buy this beautiful piece of craftsmanship and made another dream come true.
It was also a remarkable trip for me for the reason I did it alone. I’m a guy who got raised in Taiga forests, hiked in mountains and sailed since 7 years old… but all that time I used to travel in a company of friends, lovers or with my son. Never alone. What a challenge to my codependency! And I’m pretty proud of myself I finally did it.
Gear used:
Soma Terra synth
Hologram Microcosm
Boomerang III looper (The Fairytale theme)
Joyo JP-05 guitar power bank

This makes me want to go camping and just disconnect from the screen and focus on music! Beautiful Mikhail
Excellent video and music 👌 very different in a great refreshing way… I especially like the pace that you play this lovely instrument…… I think I might save for one 👌
I've always believe that, "From the beginning to the end there is an unbroken line." Should that line ever be severed, we are lost.
Thank you for response!
mesmerizing................I spent 3 hours jamming with a friends' Terra (and a Lyra) the other day.....A very interesting instrument, to say the least.....what a killer upload.......love the Microcosms lopper bits......thanks for sharing these really beautiful cinematic moments during your camping trip.......
Thanks Will for your attention! Some instruments really hit the target - this one is the case for me.
wow...this is an amazing session! I really l love it!
Thanks!
Really enjoyed watching this short film. Beautiful music, images, and perspective on music making.
Thanks, Alejandro!
I too fell in love with Terra when I first saw it. I’m just waiting on my power bank and usb adapter to arrive so I can head out to the Mt. Hood with my Terra for some meditative time near the river. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
That's gonna be a lovely trip. Do you hike or go by car there? All those powerbanks, cables, pedals and instruments weight more than my normal hiking backpack...
@@MikhailMedvedev luckily it’s easy to drive to, and almost immediately right off the forest roads. I’ll stick to a battery powered zoom multi fx pedal and a usb battery small enough to carry in a bag.
This is so beautifully done. Magical music. Love the nature shots. Love your words. Thank you for sharing.
My terra arrives tomorrow and that’s how I stumbled on your videos. Appreciate all you do ❤
Thank you for the feedback! Terra is really such a wonderful instrument!
Mikhail, your musical films in the format of travel and outdoor recreation are incredible! Amazing mastery of the TERRA instrument and creation of melodic parts. I enjoyed watching it very much. I wish you success, kindness and peace
Thank you for these feedback! It helps!
Gotta say that I love everything about this. I was a videographer before I called myself a musician. You’re inspiring me to truly pair the two of them together. Very nicely done!
Thanks! Really hope you will! Perfect combination for RUclips!
@@MikhailMedvedev definitely agreed!
I Love everything about this! Your music is so beautiful. Your video style is superb. You have inspired me so much right now. All I can say is I feel you! Thank you!
Glad to read my music inspires others! Thank you!
Truly inspirational.
Thanks!
Как же ты хорош!
Павел, спасибо!
Enjoyed the music and video. If your self in the 1970’s could peak at you now, quite a leap in music instruments. My camping days back then in the wilderness around a camp fire was with friends, family, guitars and harmonica. What did you use to record your material, from memory the Boomerang does not have permanent memory. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! You are right, we went so far with the technologies - a studio may literally fit in your pocket these days. And more great instruments are affordable now worldwide. The main component thought still doesn't depend on all those gadgets and other hi-teck stuff - creativity. As well as inspiration. I'm also grateful to the days I spent with my friends with or without guitars near camp fires. I use an old Zoom 4Hn to capture sounds (both surroundings and line in from pedals)
Lovely stuff! How have you powered everything?
Thanks! Soma Terra is powered with Joyo JP-05. It is said that 12 volt there has only 100mA, but still Terra with it's 195mA work fine in my case, though I think of trying more powerful solutions. Microcosm and Boomerang can be fed with the same guitar powerbank and work together, but I;ve found that pedals of some brand sound a bit noisy with this Joyo powerbank (Meris and Hologram). That's why I feed Hologram with an external powerbank with type-c to 9 volts cable bought on aliexpress. The signal goes to Zoom 4Hn recorder - it also works as a monitor for headphones + I make parallel field recording)
How did you ground terra to power supply? I have thought of doing this, but it says in the manual not to power unless it's grounded. Great video and nice playing ❤
There is No sense in grounding if it is not switched to another 220 volt equipment. I used DC 9/12 volt power bank to feed pedals and Terra. Zoom 4hn also was powered with a 5volt power bank. One can play hours with this equipment which can be easily recharged in field with another more powerful powerbank.
ну это явно не Измайловский парк)) где это Миш?
Саня, это Владимирская область, р. Киржач. Есть там у меня одно присмотренное местечко)
