Nice review. Hound has always been a favorite of mine. G1 hound was one of my first figures I bought when I started collecting ads an adult
lol It's early in the video and I'm sure you're going to fix it but oh my God I'm dying with those side panels not being flipped up in Jeep mode
I'll never understand why the humans Takara makes for their MP line are so crappy when the ones for their Diaclone line are really good.
I have the official but due to my worry that it may not survive many transformations so I have the second KO version on pre-order. Love the mold, just don't trust the material on the official.

Probably to do with cost cutting. They included it to inflate the price but they know that most people don't care too much about having the human characters anyways so they just half assed it.
Although, the price seemed pretty inflated already. Especially with the cheaper plastic and paint.
The "better built" version comes in a brown box from my understanding. So this is the straight ko. I bought the official and I've pre-ordered the "better built" version. I love Hound in both modes; definitely one of my favorite character designs.
John, what is the Better Built version?

Its really sad when u can't even enjoy transforming hound 4 fear of snapping a peg or joint because of the unbelievably cheap plastic they used. U deserve an award 4 taking ur time to transform him, i would've thrown him against the wall 😳😬🤣. Gr8 📹 by the way 👍👍
I just bought this 4th party from tf and I actually thought that it was justbas good plastic wise. This is actually one of the first ones where I couldn't tell the difference in plastic, but the paint is almost never perfect on the bootlegs

You must be very careful even on authentic ones...
The fact that you are scared to transform a figure like playing Russian Rollette hoping to survive a transformation without breakage only shows there is something wrong. It's a transformer not just an adult collectible. It suppose to be transformed back and forth with enjoyment.

Indeed. It feels like Takara is charging more for figures made of the cheapest, most brittle plastic they can possibly find. I can understand needing to be a little careful, but we shouldn't have to dread messing with the damn thing.
And if it's risky just transforming it, what's to say it won't break when trying to pose it?
That's also a fault of their engineering design decisions. Overcomplicated transformations plus weak plastic is NOT a good thing...but they clearly either learned nothing from MP36, or they simply don't care.
@@carlerichsen I have the spin out mold of the mp sunstreaker and don’t feel like that at all but maybe it’s updated some. Joints are just extremely tight. The ko hound should get to me tomorrow so wish me luck

The gas can flips over and tabs upside down then you fold it over the heel of hound it will fit in with the gun pefectly.. giving the back of his foot a clean good look...

I don't know. A Transformer you're terrified to transform or one that doesn't transform at all. Which would you rather have? Yeah this is an easy Pass for me.

How weird. I just transformed it back and forth and I do not understand why you would be terrified to transform it. So no reason to pass it.

Wonder how long the joint will stay after a few transformations. Ive noticed on just about all my KOs hey start to get janky after about 5 transformations.
Did they do anything to improve the mold on this one like this did with the other ones?

I was hoping that the major change in the KO would be better, thicker plastic. Disappointed that you think it's even thinner, which is really worrying! One of the doors on my official mp47 snapped in the middle (not on a hinge), but thankfully was replaced (after waiting 6 months due to Covid hitting just after I sent it back). Wonder what improvements the reissue will have?
My guess? None whatsoever. Everything just as prone to cracking and breaking as on the first run. EmGo practically sold me on MP Hound, but wow is that plastic quality awful. Especially when compared to the other "jeep" I received shortly after, OX Fraudo, which I can flip between modes without worrying it'll break. (whereas Hound has a nasty crack in the part that holds his head and cannon assembly and one of the calf panels snapped at the hinge)

My MP47 cracked right where the seats fold into his back, the rounder part you can see going in. I have no idea why or how, noticed one was completely cracked and then the other one had a half a crack going through at the same place lol 🤷.
I treat my MPs like platinum, I don't ever transform them without watching the step-by-step video! That's how crazy careful I am, and it's still broke 🤔
I wonder if I could use the KO for parts for my broken Hound?
Think the official would break more while being disassembled for repairs, I sold my broken official to a friend cheap and bought the KO (which shipped yesterday) I'm glad he is my last Autobot with both prices and complexity increasing I have lost faith in this line. Cheers and best wishes Fu.
So it seems like it's got worse plastic than the Takara? Nope...I think that I'll wait for the second version. Hopefully that's got better plastic.

I just broke my MP47, converting into robot the seats going in the back, the plastic broke... basically at the curvature.

He is most certainly _not_ good at transforming. I've seen many reviews of Hound KOs and he's the only one who can't get it to work
i got the KO first and i was like "this figure is pretty good i'm gonna spend the extra to get the official" and my god the KO was so much better the official didn't even survive the transformation nor survive just getting to me the plastic was that bad

Pretty good actually. The one thats showzstore is selling right now, is a new batch and ohh my good, is perfect! Go for it

No, the KO version is not durable too. Mine got broke on the right window, even it was glued by company/seller (look like i got scammed). Right now, the broken parts become parts forming.
But hey, both of them are fragile. Buying KO is not bad idea, why we purchase original if it easily to break
Wouldn't it be more accurate to call these unauthorized copies rather than knock offs? I usually think of knock offs as those toys which are usually close enough to trick the untrained but far enough to avoid law suits. Am I missing something or this is just for ease of conversation?
This looks pretty nice anyway, specially compared to the original one which was an absolute brick! 😅

Mp arcee is not a good looker, i have been trying decide which one to get and non are fantastic, its down to azalea and rouge i think
@@cmiddleton9849 personally I’d recommend azalea, I have her and she’s a solid figure. If you prefer a less human looking design I’d def go with her and her backpack isn’t that bad at all she is a little tall though for most of my figures.

Yup, it's really convincing, which is great for collectors, very consumer friendly. You dont even notice unless your looking for the differences
@@ChristochatBTW an spanish reviewer made the comparsion and only noted that headlamps are little different, the rest almost the same and he said the feeling is the same: careful or break it... Both, authentic and ko, so he kept the ko and sold the authentic
